My theory is that they are waiting on one of the other coaches and will announce them as a group.

He's been really durable which would be great for consistency but the question remains can he do it.

Taman comments on Willy/Etienne trade
JohnnyOnTheSpot replied to gbill2004's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Starter's money I could see, that's really the only assurance you have of what the team plans are for you. -
Kris Robertson expects to be in Bomber training camp
JohnnyOnTheSpot replied to gbill2004's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
By all accounts Cauchy is still getting better. He deserves a chance to show it. I would think Robertson is kind of small for safety where you're expected to bring the hat now and again. I see him as a kick returner, backup DB or potentially receiver if he can catch well enough. -
Do we have a need for Cvetkovic? He didn't even play towards the end of the year and I didn't notice him not being there. I worry when guys get up around his age because they get fragile.

Would DW be more exciting if not for ZC?
JohnnyOnTheSpot replied to Mike's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
For me it was partly that he was a Roughie but I have already forgiven his misguided past. If there had been no Collaros then Willy would have been the jewel of free agency. Only time will tell who is the better of the two. Maybe they'll both be dominant QB's for years to come, that would be nice. -
Bombers trade Etienne for Drew Willy, extend Willy
JohnnyOnTheSpot replied to Atomic's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Glad to have Willy. As for Jade I'll say again DRAFT MORE MANITOBA GUYS! Tired of being the Sask farm team. -
Hank Burris Agent on CHQR Radio In Calgary Now.
JohnnyOnTheSpot replied to iso_55's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
What will eventually happen is that the Marquee QB's will make way more than any other player and you'll be back to one starter per team. It's always been this way, salary cap or no. -
REDBLACKS major announcement today, Burris Signed
JohnnyOnTheSpot replied to gbill2004's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
We need a poll but obviously Bombers did the right thing. $400k is too much. Burris did this to us once before when Ritchie was here. He used us for bargaining leverage and signed with Sask that time. -
Some food for thought from Farhan Lalji
JohnnyOnTheSpot replied to Mr. Perfect's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
They can if they want both Glenn and DeMarco disgruntled. We all know that when Glenn is not interested he plays like crap. DeMarco will want better than 3rd string reps with an expansion franchise. Wait long enough and Glenn will be free. Calgary already established his trade value last year when he was offered for a second round pick to us. Any more than that will be a robbery at this point. -
REDBLACKS major announcement today, Burris Signed
JohnnyOnTheSpot replied to gbill2004's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Why would the Bombers trade for Glenn? Won't he be cut sooner or later? -
Collaros Released, Signs With Hamilton
JohnnyOnTheSpot replied to Jpan85's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
39 is 39. It HAS to be Burris AND someone else, like Willy. I would think Burris now has very little bargaining power if he still wants to play. We should be able to pay two guys mid level QB money vs paying one guy top starter QB money. -
Bombers Interested in Kory Banks
JohnnyOnTheSpot replied to Jpan85's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
That was the height of the Taman era. He traded almost every high draft pick for a number of years. We pretty well had to take NI's at the time just to patch the holes that had built up over time. -
Collaros Released, Signs With Hamilton
JohnnyOnTheSpot replied to Jpan85's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
What good will that do? They still have to pay Ray so there's no way they can match. -
Bombers trade Aprile for DB Matt Bucknor
JohnnyOnTheSpot replied to Mike's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I never got the love for Aprile. To me he's a decent athlete in search of a position. He's likely a career special teamer. -
Collaros Released, Signs With Hamilton
JohnnyOnTheSpot replied to Jpan85's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Did he have a bonus coming due on Feb 1? This is odd. -
Pascucci: Gary Etcheverry Bombers new DC
JohnnyOnTheSpot replied to gbill2004's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Kelly Moore from CJOB says Etch is a done deal. Only reason it's not announced yet is because Football ops staff is in Florida for East-West Shrine game. -
REDBLACKS sign former Bomber NI OL Brendan Dunn
JohnnyOnTheSpot replied to gbill2004's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
He had plenty of opportunity to get better and he didn't. I wouldn't worry about him being a star in Ottawa. -
It's fine to define what constitutes PI but I'm skeptical it will change very much because we already know what holding is and that is still overlooked virtually every play.
-
I always thought he was a good coach, not Wylie good mind you. Now at least I know someone else thinks so too.

Gary Etcheverry interviewed for Bombers DC job

Bob Irving says Greg Marshall is "in the running". 5:38 Sports this morning. -
Gary Etcheverry interviewed for Bombers DC job
JohnnyOnTheSpot replied to gbill2004's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Ritchieism: It doesn't matter how you start it's how you finish. We're better off with a young gun DC anyway. This year we won't be a veteran team, they can grow together. -
Stubler New Stamps Defensive Coordinator
JohnnyOnTheSpot replied to iso_55's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
So judging from his wanting to stay close to BC we have to assume it was the Lion's decision to part ways after all. -
Stubler New Stamps Defensive Coordinator
JohnnyOnTheSpot replied to iso_55's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Stubler's D left the middle of the field wide open for Durant in the semi likely costing BC the cup in the process. Dodged a bullet as far as I'm concerned. -
Marcel Bellefeuille named Bombers OC
JohnnyOnTheSpot replied to Noeller's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I know they thought that Goltz gave up so that's why he wasn't playing. As to why he wasn't cut I can only assume they thought the greater punishment was to spend a cold fall here not playing than to pay out his contract and let him soak up the California sun at home.
