Hovering around a playoff spot with the lowest payroll in the league and one of the youngest team's is cause for optimism. Bringing Helle up and his play to date has been the biggest bright spot. He's playing up to his hype and having a legit #1 goalie is huge. Our defensive play and lack of discipline have been the biggest disappointments. What we do with Buff & Ladd are obviously the biggest questions going forward.

Ladd was in front when Myers broke his stick. A big shot from the point is nice, but the guy taking it has to be able to get it off quickly and know where it's going. Buff's shot is sufficiently heavy for the pp, and all of Buff, Trouba, Myers, & Enstrom have much better offensive insticts. I'll take 5 of 10. Beating Nashville makes the trip a win imo.

I'd take both of those dmen from Nashville before Klingberg. He's good, but imo there are a lot of dmen in the league who could put up big numbers with the Stars. Noeller's fanboyism aside, I'd have sent Wheeler ahead of Toews too. Wheeler's been great this season.

In one of his & Tait's podcasts, Wiecek goes on at length about how he pays no attention to what's happening at practice. He thought it was hillarious that he doesn't do his job. I have no idea which podcast it was in, but there aren't that many of them so it shouldn't be hard to find.

Love the Garfield Christmas. Love Actually is my wife's favourite Christmas movie. That, along, with Home Alone, Scrooged, & Christmas Vacation are our must watches each year. I also like Elf & Charlie Brown, but they're in the "only if we have time" category.

I definitely thought we would beat the Ducks. We were the better team in 3 of 4 games, which made it even more frustrating.

Okposo's stats are helped by playing with Tavares. I'm not sure I'd pay Okposo that much to hope he can do it without him.
