  1. He's got 61 points in 34 games.
  2. Maata's contract hurt Trouba contract demands. Tough for them to appear reasonable when a pretty comparable player in the same situation signed for just North of $4.
  3. Forgetting what he saw and just wandering off is a real concern for a man his age.
  4. That's quite a lineup...
  5. Interesting rumour has GSP coming back to fight Nate Diaz. Unless GSP comes back out of shape, or gets caught in a choke while ground and pounding him, I can't see him losing this fight. He dominated Nick, and he's a better fighter than Nate is. I really think his plan was to fight McGregor, but his loss ruined that idea.
  6. Similar to how Ehlers was only racking up points in Junior b/c he was playing with Drouin.
  7. Reinhart is still young, but his career seems to be going in the wrong direction. If the Oilers end up with Matthews in the draft, I don't think there's any question RNH would be traded. It would be McDavid, Matthews, Draisaitl up the middle for the Oilers.
  8. Ovie pretty clearly let up on the hit. Reaves drove the guys head into the glass. Imo there's a big difference between the two plays.
  9. No thank you to $600. Watching on tv will be good enough for nostalgia purposes.
  10. The USA roster has an older average age than Canada...
  11. McGregor was kicking his ass in the first round. The problem was that Diaz was big enough and had a good enough chin to take it. I don't think anybody in the featherweight division would have survived that round. He gassed in the 2nd and Diaz took over on him.
  12. Jim Kyte has to be there. Dave Ellett to. He had one of the biggest goals in Jets history.
  13. I think the value of that pick is closer to what you're saying than Goalie, except for Karlsson, who I don't think I'd trade for anybody in the league other than McDavid. Morgan Reilly or Jacob Trouba aren't going to get you the 1st overall pick.
  14. No, but the GMs say take a paycut or I'll cut you when they have a bad season. Until CFL players have guaranteed contracts, I have no problem with them holding out for more money. Especially considering the low amounts the get paid on 1st year deals.
  15. I think you're probably wrong. I'd gladly swallow my pride to pick the best player in the draft. Maybe throw the other GM's a crotch chop from the stage just to rub it in. Plus, then they can trade one of their other 18 1st overall picks for a legit dman, rather than hoping they can draft one.
  16. I understand your point with a cut, not so much with a slash. In my experience playing/watching hockey, the first strong reaction to a slash is anger, not fear that you're critically injured. When a guy's a known diver, I tend not to give him the benefit of the doubt. Agree to disagree I suppose.
  17. Leddy made one of the softest plays I've ever seen during the shift where Peluso got hurt. The puck was along the boards and he was right in front of it. He looked over his shoulder, saw Thorburn coming, and did some weird spin move to get out of the way and give Thorburn the puck. He's a pretty good player, but I thought that was brutal.
  18. It's impossible to say for sure how much pain a guy is really in, but that certainly looked "embellished" to me. Maybe he just has a really low pain threshold...
  19. I guess it's up for interpretation as to who replaced who. It's logical to say Copp replaced Slater. After that any of them can probably can be argued. Petan was in our opening day lineup on the 4th line, so I'd say that's who got Stempniak's spot. Ehler's instead of Tlusty and Burmi for Frolik is how I see it.
  20. I've given them plenty of credit. Good move by them, too bad it wasn't us. Frolik's been a "15 & 40ish" guy his entire career. Burmi was somewhat of a dud as his replacement, but it was still probably good for us that he walked. Fun fact: Lee Stempiak's career best point total is higher than Frolik's best.
  21. Assuming this flying DeLorean is for time travel, it wouldn't matter when it was given to him, as he would now be able to travel to any time he wanted.
  22. Such a valuable guy to have. No brainer that he'd command a big return.
  23. We don't have the elite pp talent around Wheeler that Stempniak has in NJ to pad his stats.
