You mean his unnamed brother who Klein said confirmed it?  Come on, man.

The guy paid a couple hundred buck to a for-profit "Metis" community to get his status (as did his mother's late brother) that sprung up in 2002 when they identified a revenue stream.  A community that refused to be interviewed on the subject.  A community which has an extremely loose definition of Metis.

And it's not just CBC's genealogical search calling out his B.S.  You've got an expert (Jean Teillet) pointing to all the red flags.  And his own brother...

Klein has his lawyer threatening the CBC and falling back on "it's personal - leave me alone".

Klein can't be trusted on anything.

Coincidentally, his canvassers showed up at my door last night and I told them I had zero interest.  The guy says, "He'd like to hear from you.  What would you like to tell him?"

    My response "He's a slimeball".

My question is, if his mother never identified as Metis when she was alive (presumably true if his brother doesn't believe that they are Metis), then in what way is it honoring her and connecting with her to now claim to be Metis?

yeah should have been spotted on the 51...minimum...we got boned there

Rose when healthy should be back to his corner spot....with out a question until it is apparent he is worse than the other guys mentioned....and that he is not I highly suspect

I actually disagree that we got boned on that one... Demski ran back the 2 or 3 yards on his own before contact and I believe the ref actually got the spot right.  My first thought when he caught it was "just fall forward" because he did have the first down, but then gave it up by running backwards a bit.

Not really.  I don't think he's better than Houston, Parker, Nichols, Holm.

If he gets on all 5 of those guys will be on if healthy.

Schoen didn't really seem to go into protocol but he was running laps up and down the sideline the rest of the game after that hit with his helmet on, briefly went to locker room.

The way he dropped that ball was complete fencing response which indicates concussion.

I didn't notice him take a head shot, I just thought the second guy coming in knocked the wind out of him, so I figured maybe he had sore ribs or something like that.

Reading back through the thread, I wanted to address the complaints on the spot of the ball on the Demski catch just before the mishandled snap on 3rd and short.  Demski caught the ball and ran back towards the line of scrimmage about 2.5 yards before he was tackled.  There were complaints that the ball should have been spotted where he caught the ball, but the refs spotted it correctly because he ran back on his own without being pushed back.  It's the same as a kick returner running back 5 yards to try and get around an edge and getting tackled for a loss.  You only get forward progress if you are pushed back, not if you run back on your own.

Can anyone tell me if shoe was hurt in that game? I think he was only targeted once in the entire game and lawler was what 8?

    Schoen

Schoen was definitely targeted at least 3 times (2 for completions, one near the end zone and one when he got popped), might have been more targets, but those are 2 that I remember.  I didn't notice him on the field after that big hit that he took on the one catch near the Bomber bench and he went off looking sore.

One year we sat on the west side and it was unbearable how many people complained about play calls and clearly did not know anything. Crotchety old whiners. My friend got hit in the back by an old coot that didn't like us making noise on defense.

    207 here.

209 here... say it with me "West Side Sucks!  West Side Sucks!"

You know, I hate the Riders but to see the Elks lose this game makes me feel good. Seeing Jones' Elks team blow that game was a fun thing to see. It couldn't have happened to a better prick.

I'm so torn with that one.  I can't stand Chris Jones so I'm always more than happy to see him lose, but I do feel bad for the Edmonton fans.  I also can't stand Sask, or their fans.  I'd slightly prefer Edmonton to have won, for their fans... but like you said, it couldn't have happened to a better prick.

As bad of a kicker as Lauther is, he knew exactly what he was doing and hammered it deep for the rouge on the kickoff. Smart play that was aided by Elks incompetence.

Pretty sure it  bounced between the 15 and 20... I say a combination of the returner playing too far up and Lauther putting everything behind it.

The block is legal if the pass is caught behind the line of scrimmage (like Hamilton did against us in the 2019 Grey Cup). On Bailey’s block the LOS was the 6 and McCrae caught it on the 5.

I believe it's also a newer rule that just came in over the past couple of years, so if Calgary has done it before and got away with it, it may have been before the new rule came in.

    Edit:;

Just looked it up and it appears it was a new rule in 2018:

    Article 13 — Blindside Blocking

It shall be illegal for any player to deliver a forcible block on an opponent while moving back towards their own dead ball line anywhere on the field.

Sihgh is keeping Trudeau in power. Otherwise, we'd have had an election by now. I know that salient point means nothing to you. Singh was paid off to keep Trudeau in power. There'd be no other reason to do it. Money.

My point was, you said this:
Always criticizing Trudeau daily but when push comes to shove is a true coward supporting the Liberals. This Champagne Socialist has it pretty good with his cars & fancy suits. As well as his growing wealth & pension all courtesy of the Canadian taxpayer.

    Then said this about PP:

    I can't. He's not PM.

Also, there is another reason to do it.  Singh has more say with Trudeau in power than we would with PP.  Call it being paid off if you want, but if it allows him to further some of the goals of his party, it's a strategy that works for him.  He likely loses out on all of that with the Cons in power, so it definitely makes sense for him to prop up the Liberals at this time.

I was right beside where they setup and I didn't hear a word. I only heard the muffled sounds.

I thought the drone show was an interesting idea and a nice change from fireworks. The group I was with was impressed with the drone show, but then let down how quickly it ended. Seemed like something they could have done into a more lengthy show, but it was nice to see something different.

Generally the batteries on those drones are only good for 10-15 minutes, so a 10 minute show seems about right for what they are capable of.  Do do anything longer, they'd need another full set of drones.

the Canadian politics thread is still closed....why is it that people vote smart in Civic elections but not in provincial elections?

    And the Layton widow wins

For the voters who loosely associate with a party, I think that they are less likely to follow party lines in a civic election because the affiliations to the party aren't as obvious (Chow's connection to Layton not withstanding).

They clearly moved the box right under the stage before he got on it. Then, they moved it back when he got onto the stage and the curtain came up, and after they rolled it away. You could even see the black box moving.

I don't care for illusionists. I don't find it interesting. But, that's probably the first time it was so obvious what was happening and how he did it.

The only part I couldn't figure out was how he got from under the bleachers to out in front of the rum hut without anyone there noticing (and maybe some around the rum hut did notice).
