The headlines will read Florida Georgia line. That's the way I took it. I didn't know they had broke up. I thought it was odd they named the individually, but that was the extent of my curiosity. Lol

Josh Ross makes some sense too though because they had him on all of the early season Spotify commercials during games, so they likely expect CFL fans to recognize him from that.

Thought I read the conservative govt was hoping for 2025 but can you do BC 2024 Wpg 2025? Probably

Pretty sure Winnipeg was pushing for either 2024 or 2025.... 2025 gets us to year 3 of Collaros' contract, so that will be the one to break Edmonton's record of 5 in a row.

I believe that the league generally tries to alternate between East and West every year, but with the pandemic, that got all messed up too.

I guy I know is an ti everything. Anti vaxxer, anti restriction & anti masks. He was really vocal in his displeasure. I always liked the guy but I have to say that he became unhinged during the pandemic. I really want nothing to do with the guy now. He's become radicalized. Super alt right. All because of the pandemic. He never marched or protested but he's angry. How many silent Canadians like him, are there?? That is why I believe that restrictions will never come back. There's too many people who will refuse to follow them.

Sorry to hear that.  It sucks that there are people out there who think like this because it's dangerous for everybody.  My question would be, what did it take for him to become radicalized like that?

I don't see that as a reason to not have restrictions again if they are warranted, but I understand that there are still many people who would refuse to follow them, just like the first time and a big part of why things got so out of control with the pandemic.

A lot of Canadians support them. This just gives them more credibility with their supporters. Most Canadians didn't like the convoy protest & the ugly way they behaved. But they do feel their freedoms were taken away. They didn't protest but were unhappy. Maybe the numbers are in the millions.

I supported the restrictions at the time. Especially before we had vaccines. People who wouldn't wear masks were crazy. Wearing a mask doesn't take away anyone's freedoms. I was okay with vaccine passports as well. However, those days are gone, Now, if you want to get a Covid booster it's up to you. I doubt if restrictions will ever come back.

The problem was that there was confusion over what was a right (freedom) vs what was a privilege.  Being able to go into a private business is a privilege, and being required to wear a mask to exercise that privilege is not a violation of anyone's rights.  None of the restrictions took away anyone's rights, it may have limited their privileges, but that was based on their choices (ie. not wearing a mask or not getting vax'd).  Choices have consequences, and losing a privilege is not a loss of rights or freedom.

OK, you just made me feel really old.

Google “Fantasy Island”. Not the movie, not the remake. The original, which aired after “The Love Boat”. And if you ask what the “Love Boat” is, I may have to throw one of us out the window.

Fair enough, I know of the show, but I didn't know the characters' names...  The fact that you threw a picture of Khan in there really threw me.

Looking at the other extreme, what would be an example of far-left rhetoric?

Burn down capitalism? Defund the Police?

I believe that the far-left is extreme socialism... everybody help everyone else and bring everybody up... sounds dangerous.

to put into context that injury, and timeframe....17 professional soccer and rugby players were studied in recovery

the time from injury to fixation ranged from 8 to 31 days, and hardware was removed at 16 weeks postoperatively. One athlete retired after a ligamentous injury; the remaining 16 players returned to training and full competition. Excluding the retired player, the mean time to return to training was 20.1 weeks (range, 18-24 weeks) and to full competition was 25.3 weeks (range, 21-31 weeks). There was a significant difference between the mean time to return to competition for rugby (27.8 weeks) and soccer players (24.1 weeks; P = .02) and for ligamentous (22.5 weeks) compared with bony injuries (26.9 weeks; P = .003). Three patients suffered deep peroneal nerve sensation loss, from which 1 patient did not fully recover.

Conclusion: Return to competitive elite-level soccer and rugby is possible after surgically treated Lisfranc injuries. Return to training can take up to 24 weeks and return to playing up to 31 weeks, with bony injuries taking longer.

Now do the math...Rourke had his surgery the week of Aug the 21st....thats what...10 weeks at most from initial surgery, and not including the hardware removal at 16 weeks post surgery....so how is he totally healed and at no risk for serious re-injure....do tell....so obviously the BC doctors are NOT adhering to the proper recovery time...let alone even taken out the hardware as it's not medically proven to be removeable until 16 weeks...which is around the 3rd..4th week of Nov at earliest....and before anyone even tries to dispute and say...yeah thats one study....that is different...blah blah blah....that is the timeline for this healing process in all studies, and occurrences

so based on that either 1) Rourke is not human 2)B.C has a secret sports medicine program for faster healing or 3) they rolling the dice and being less than ethical 4) Rourke is just a dumb tool and signed a waiver to play...and likely ruining any NFL shot in the spring

I think I will go with options 3 and 4...

    Option 5) Rourke is Wolverine

If he comes out of this without further injury, then I think that should be his new nickname.

French is obviously his first janguage.

I'm fully convinced that he's translating the calls in his head on the fly and that's why it sounds like he's fumbling over his words.   I like that he explains some of the more oddball penalties sometimes though so we know what's going on... Even if he fluvs it a bit sometimes.

I am not in favor of the American model either but thanks for the info. I love our Canadian health care program, and other such programs that America does not have. That is not what I am talking about at all. I don't like government waste, never will, and this is not exclusive to any one party.

My concern with the way the Provincial Conservative governments have been running is to hack and slash at the health care programs to the point where they can point to them and say "see how broken the health care system is, we need to privatize it in order to fix it".  For some reason, they seem to think that the American model of health care is the better way to go, and all evidence world wide points to the contrary.  A healthy public health system is the best option for society as a whole.

It is important for people who see things from the right side of the political spectrum to realize the party is moving away from them toward a very unhealthy MAGA-style politics fueled by, and propagating misinformation. It is better for our country to have a party on the conservative side that actually believes in conservative values, rather than what they currently represent. The sane part of the country/party need to drag the party back towards that after Bergen/PP rather than toward the Bernier/PPC side. We've seen how that egg can't be unscrambled in the US.

Why would anyone want to go in that direction? I'm legitimately baffled that the events in the US haven't pushed the PC party closer to the centre to avoid that at all costs. Several unsuccessful elections in a row so stoop to a strategy that has worked elsewhere?

I think the part that they saw that worked was it won an election down there and all they are looking for is to have power for the sake of being able to say that they have power.  There's no platform because it doesn't matter, if they can spew garbage and win, that's all that they want.

You don't have to touch the pylon. It's breaking the plane of the goal line. That plane extends past the field of play. As long as the player was in bounds when he jumped and the ball goes past the plane before he touches the ground again, it's a TD.

Ah, ok that kinda makes sense, though I did think that it had to cross the plane within the field of play, I wasn't aware that it extended beyond.  The fact that he hit the pylon was irrelevant then and just makes for a better video for the highlight reel.

  12. 16 hours ago, Saidin said:

I always thought it's weird that the pylon is on the white and not in the corner on the green.  Can someone explain that to me?

The start of the white line is the plane of the goal line.  The ball doesn't have to cross into the green, it just has to cross into the white.

That being said, I'm surprised that touching the front or outside of the pylon counted as a TD as that is clearly out of bounds.  I always though the players had to touch the inside of the pylon for it to count and was surprised that Bailey's dive was counted as a score.
