So 2 weeks to go to make the playoffs and the player with the 2nd most receiving yards on the active roster is the RB... and the player with the most is playing his first game since being murdered across the middle and missing 3 weeks. NBD

Glue guys have to perform no matter the vocation. That's been my experience. It's not an either/or. It's both.

Their careers aren’t shorter than any one else’s, and their numbers in modern pro football is extremely high. Dickie never put any kind of stamp on those riders teams. that was all chris jones through and through. they didn’t flush the jones way of doing things till this regime now. That regime didn’t value talent over character, they recruited only for talent and at times seemed to prize the toxic head case types. It’s not a question of one guy more or less talented. Talent is a small glimpse production. Hubert last year wasn’t a tremendous talent, he was and is a very good role guy despite his talent level because he was smart, tough, and had good hands. The problem is we start guys no one else would. It’s not a potential talent thing, or athleticism thing, or a fit/production thing. It’s literally all of those with guys like kola and jake. They are so far below the average replacement level it’s terrifying. Look at a guy like christopher fortin. True rookie canadian starting, was the last pick of the first round. He is soo much better than kola it’s not even funny, but what’s worse, is he would probably be our 2nd best ol this year. Half our games he might be our best ol. Veresuk is also starting as a true rookie canadian, he was the second pick, but he’s out played veteran imports on our team. We plugged in guys like allen, and woodbey making our D better, months after continually trying to force fit bad players. We’ve done this every year for a long time. We kept hammering collin kornelson not just onto the AR but into high volume rotation over a bunch of better players while handily over our ratio requirements. These are heavy handed, undisputed downgrades we forced our self to endure because we didn’t want to play the best players. That’s not even scratching into repeatedly hammering guys like biggie and schoen into the line up when they were badly compromised in terms of health and un able to perform. It’s not arm chair qbing, it’s not conspiracy theorists or wild accusations. It’s now becoming so prevalent that even the complacent media are firing shots at our coaching. Roster management issues have always been the reality. We backed ended into an all time squad and rode it into the dirt. Every team needs glue guys. but you have to have the pieces to glue together. other wise you’re just glue, and we are pretty close to that now. Half our cap is tied up in guys who are fringe league guys.

It's gotta be a balance. Glue guys are great... but at some point you need guys who can make some ******* plays consistently. We used to have that, we don't so much anymore. Too much glue and not enough wow.

Just think of the concerts as being a bonus. In 2022 Regina had 3 day passes for 104 bucks to get into the team parties. This didn't include any concerts.

Let's not forget Dobson as well, and that's just one of a plethora of good young OL we have simply let go to market, while simultaneously over the past several years not drafting OL in the first round. This offseason we went scrap heaping with a fist full of dollars available. Makes no sense in a Grey Cup year. Before we even played one snap this year I was ready to take my pitch fork and try find Kyle Walters. Now I am just too sad to do so. Logan didn't really lose his job to Vaval so much as Vaval just took it from him when Logan was injured. Can't really blame the GM for that mistake, but at the end of the day a mistake is a mistake whether intentions were good or not.

this past offseason was fairly disappointed at the time... and is a complete disaster in hindsight... consider the "big" moves we made: - Mitchell - couldn't crack the line up and when he has played, he's been useless outside of one play - Logan - lost his job to Vaval (though never really given much opportunity) - Jonathon Jones - released - Vaughters - been OK but nothing spectacular - Schoen - resigned at a discount only to basically ruin his career - Let Lawler walk and he's been an all-star in Hammy Faj > Kelly was more of a hypothetical... I don't expect either to be available

White chose to leave, because the Bombers weren't willing to play him right off the bat (no different than Mitchell). He gave them a week after camp to find a spot for him and they couldn't/wouldn't. Even if they had signed another receiver, I don't think it would have been any different. They seem to be so opposed to letting "new" guys play over an existing player - if I was a FA, this is probably the last place I'd sign.

They did bring in 3 guys essentially for one spot, in white, sterns and mitchell. But they could’ve brought in some one who was less of a hail mary. White was the best of them in camp imo. Glad lawson is off for houston too. It’s wild though how thin we are at soo many positions.

Based on what I saw on the sidelines last week against the Elks, it makes sense seeing Mitchell come off. On the one hand I'm really surprised he hasn't been released but on the other hand not surprised because we have limited depth at that position.

I like Cobb starting instead of Corcoran.

It's been Cobb and Wheatfall getting the reps in practice apparently... Expecting them to start. But we'll see...

Mitchell obviously doesn't want to be here- maybe he never did. A bad acquisition that has been allowed to fester, and if he is the best Walters could find, that is another nail in the coffins of both.

The main issue is that the passes sold out early. Most of the backlash has come from out of town fans who say they were never advised that the passes were on sale to begin with. These are people that go to the Grey Cup every year so you'd think they would have looked into things ahead of time to secure tickets. They could have easily just checked ticketmaster to see the passes for sale. The other issue is people expected there to be single day passes as some fans will be getting in on Friday or Saturday. This concern was removed yesterday when day passes were made avaliable.

Nothing saying that they couldn't bring Jake Thomas as a coach / water boy / mascot for morale.... Jake isn't the reason why we are doing so poorly this season... but he's such an obvious guy that should have been upgraded and the fact that they have made minimal efforts is alarming. It doesn't give us the confidence that they'll replace guys in other positions where a tough decision is required.

Definitely....and he was announced early about his return and most on here commented that was a mistake....Further fatboi is not so much a 'glue guy' but definitely an 'Osh guy'

Yea, all 3 were kind of duds. You lose Lawler you better bring in someone a heck of a lot better than Sterns/White/Mitchell. It's this kind of GMing that has cost us dearly this year. Over the past several years we have lost enormous amounts of top tier talent with B rate replacements signed to replace them. That has led us to this. Our complete lack of quality depth is also a big time issue. We haven't seen much in that regard since RIgmaiden left town.

The guy hasn't played since last year. We are screaming up and down about what a goof it was to sign Dalton Schoen. Same thing really. I wouldn't touch him with a 10 foot pole right now when you factor in he is a wing nut. If we decide to move on from Zac, and I really don't see many better options, I would hope it isn't to sign him. Fajardo has led the Esks to the precipice of a playoff spot. Edmonton will lock him down. Ford is not the future there and they know it.

I'm a big believer in second chances, but Kelly's personality and track record indicates that this is his core personality and unlikely to change. He might suppress it for a while under duress, but leopards and spots...

He is constantly under throwing guys... how's that not cooked? Just because he will occasionally get it there if he puts everything he possibly has into it doesn't mean he still has the arm. Collaros needs to do what he did vsm Hamilton and turn into a game manager. But he's been stubborn about changing his whole career so I wouldn't get my hopes up.

I actually like Maas in his als days as well. He's really taken some big steps from where he was as a nut case before. Yep, pretty much same for me. I don't really want to see the riders (ofc) or stamps win. And I'm torn on BC. I grew up around a couple nurses, the wildest stories. Tons of respect for anyone who works in health care, especially nurses. ER, RSNs, man, they got one of the toughest jobs.
