rookie qb comes into our field slaps us around and swags it up in a laugher. Some one in the front office needs to grow a set since the coaching staff refuses to.

I said this game will set the tone for the season. And it has. I definitely enjoyed the past decade of hard nose always fighting Blue Bomber football. That is officially over. They'll be lucky to get to 8 wins....hell im ot sure they will win another game.

Condell should be fired for tonight's game plan. Im not sure ive ever seen an OC use the run game to set up absolutely nothing at all. I have so many complaints about the offense that it makes me forget how brutal the defense was. At least Hogan had the excuse that he was a rookie OC. Condell doesn't seem to have any kind of feel for how games are unfolding. Its pathetic

MOS doesn't believe in any of his players. The proof is in the pudding. Inside the 5 twice and you walk away with 6...no belief the O can get 7, and no belief that if your O fails the D will hold a rookie qb. Just straight up chicken **** football.

Im not even angry, im sad. The golden years are done.

This version of Dru Brown is not the same QB we saw when he was in Winnipeg a few years ago.

I think Willie has been so far this year. He’s been the exception to the rule so far about the massive mistake of bringing too many old guys back.

It was frustrating to hear MOS on the post game say that changes aren't needed.

Seriously this sums it up:

This Is Fine GIFs | Tenor

So, in other words, expect the same effort & results for the rest of the season.

Ugh.- garbage game.

What the **** game plan was that?

Thank God the fireworks didn't suck too.

O’Shea (like several people here) tends to just look at the result rather than the process. It’s flawed and it’s how you wind up leading this franchise to this position.

Anyone who has been observing the process over the past few years has seen this coming a mile away. Applying the blame to 377 rushing yards tonight is a symptom of only being willing to look at the result. How do you arrive at 377 rushing yards? The same way you arrive at a lot of the unfortunate circumstances surrounding this franchise right now. It doesn’t “just happen”.

This happens because you have allowed complacency. There’s no accountability because there’s no consequence. There’s no building new pros because our role models have been allowed to behave in a way that doesn’t breed professionalism. What kind of respect do you think a guy like Stanley Bryant commands from a new player in the locker room right now? I guarantee you there’s a small part of them that respects the hell out of the fact that he’s a no-doubt first ballot hall of famer but there’s a much bigger part of them that resents the fact that they have to scratch and claw to get a sniff of an opportunity while he’s allowed to coast without being questioned.

Make no mistake. Every player in that locker room knows Stan sucks right now. What do you think that does for morale? What do you think it does for the morale of a player like Connor Shay or Michael Ayers to see Kyrie Wilson get handed a spot and give up on major play after major play throughout the course of a game? If those players aren’t bothered by it, they shouldn’t be here either.

This is all the process. The staff let it get this far and they don’t seem to want to recognize it. Film study isn’t going to correct those issues. We need far more than that.

I think every Bombers fan should be angry and scared about what the future is going to look like. However, I don't think it is fair to question Stanley Bryant's professionalism. He isn't coasting. I am sure he is doing everything he can, but he is 40. There are three offensive linemen in the CFL who are over 34 years old. Neufeld is 37 and Hardick is 36. The team needed to recruit and develop replacements 5 years ago so they'd be ready to take over, but haven't been able to.

When I look at the Bombers, their biggest problem is recruiting new talent to the team. They haven't done that and their old stars that they keep bringing back are no longer stars. In free agency, they sign more old vets like 33 year old Broxton, 31 year old Moxey, 32 year old Ceresna, 32 year old Santos Knox. They need to find young up and coming players or their descent will continue.

We do seem to like older receivers. Probably 50% of them haven't work out. We like to pay for past performances on our roster & not for future ones. Receivers like Mack, Gittens, Aberhardt & other younger players were available. Tim White is doing okay, I have no complaints about him other than he's 32 but it would be nice if we could sign some players in their mid to late 20's.

He and Ceresna are tied for the league lead in sacks. Both are on track to put up a number range we haven't seen in years.

unfortunately this is just a bad football team now... there's a million examples from last night's game that could highlight that... but the one that keeps me up is the fourth quarter defensive performance... we were facing a one-dimensional team, playing their their back up RB and 3rd string QB who had clearly shown zero ability to pass the ball... basically we knew their only hope of coming back was running... and we let them run for close to 200 yards in the quarter to cruise to an easy victory... this is probably the most embarrassing loss in the Mike O'Shea era... this is the kind of loss that should lead to a full scale house cleaning this bye week... but thanks to coaching cap and "loyalty" we know that's not going to happen

It could be possible that the Bombers are not a very good football, we will find out in the second half

Lack of talent on this team. Plain and simple. Our coordinators are trying to be too cute with all the scrubs they have been handed. Lack of talent on the field, bad coaching, and even worse GMing and scouting. This is not a good situation. Miller can't realistically fire 70 ppl mid season but that is exactly how many deserve it.

When a team runs for almost 400 yards against you, that's bad coaching but even worse personnel on the field. I'm sorry but right now our defence has maybe 5 starters worth keeping on the field in that role. On offence we suck as well. Then we have coordinators who are both trying to re-invent the wheel and a HC who doesn't trust his team, seemingly for good reason based on what I watched last night.

This team is D level talent wise. Someone better explain that to the coaching staff, and more importantly to our GM. We need to stop the Condell/Younger experiments that have been rolling out, strip it down, and allow our lack of talent to at least be minimized by keeping it simple enough for them to execute.

about this leadership group...

Mike O'Shea used to be angry at every loss... we'd lose a pre-season game by 2 and he'd be pissed in post game... the only thing he cared about w3as winning... these last few years, seems like just doesn't seem to care anymore

Kyle Walters was the underdog GM... people felt he didn't deserve the job, and once he got it, no one worked harder... he unturned every stone possible, brought in every player available to try and find more wins... now, he seems content with the average group we have

Wade Miller was the ultimate underdog... he had no business on the football field, yet played 10+ years in the league... he had no business acumen, yet built one of them most successful recruiting businesses in the province... he had no football management experience, yet built the best game day experience and marketing in the league... no one used to care about this team and winning more than Miller... now, is he content with this?

we have a bye week. no excuse to stay the same now. have the time to install a new play caller on O, reorganize the D with hall, or make bigger changes. Gotta do some thing.

The bye might win to be honest

Even with the bye week I don't many if any changes coming for this team, there is no quick fix and definitely no airlift coming.

Whether the talent sucks overall or not... Where the **** is the accountability by sitting guys down when they clearly aren't good enough? Even if you think the backup isn't good enough you need to hold poor play accountable. If the backup sucks too then tell the gm to find another guy and keep going through until you find something. We don't though and that's on the coaches. Honestly a guy like Stanley Bryant needs to get "injured" and live the rest of the season on the IR and retire. He gets beaten badly and takes penalties allllllll the time. Vanterpool looked fine at rt so when Broxton is back use those guys as your tackles and go from there.

I don't mind white and Wilson as players, but if one of them was taller our offense would be a lot better. The only starter in our receiving group with any size is Nield and he plays soft too.

On D.... I hope Jake Kelly's arms grow back soon so he can use them when trying to tackle. It makes no sense to me that smith isn't a starter. He is one of the best lbs on the team and one of the best Canadians so why we waste reps on the likes of Cobb or Daniels or Kelly or any of a host of other guys who aren't as good.

The bottom line this roster is constructed incredibly poorly and the way it's built and the coordinators we have are at odds. Like there's no thought seemingly put into anything. They got so complacent with the vets running the room. That works when you got prime Bighill and prime Jefferson and prime a whole bunch of guys. Doesn't work when your vets are cooked and the guys in their prime should be depth by rights.

Tho I agree with you for most part...You cant just keep saying it's lack of talent and point the most blame on Walters and his crew...this is a mess with the majority of it placed right at Osh's feet

I dont think its a lack of trust by Osh...Its a lack of ability to see the issues...and do anything about it....And end of the day regardless of who and what was brought to camp...he picks the roster..he sets the agenda on the how we do things and why...he is in charge of things..Like full stop he is the HC and the final product...or lack there of is his...plain and simple...and if his Co-Ords aren not gtting it done...Fire them...step in and balst them...Take control and start calling things yourself...tho he admittingly has said he has not much skill with the x and o portion of things so we are essentially a rudderless ship...and makes sense when you pull back and take a 300foot view......

In the early yrs we seen basically this whole scene we have now...Relience on old players...his fav's....guys who had zero fire...and had a foot out the door pretty much and was basically told to make some changes and reluctantly did so...Then he got provided with a stacked lineup of guys in their prime...guys who really didnt need to be coached...they were that good...He gave onus on things to his in their prime vets...they controlled the room and the vibe..He even admittingly said himself he rarely goes in the room and for most part doesnt know really the atmosphere and whats going on...he allowed the pieces to do the work..and they did..and we dominated...He was just the HC who was credited with the end result...lauded for it...But really did minimal work to arrive at the end result

Now in the past 4 yrs... he leaned on that until the blood was bled right out of his team and allowed some younger guys to leave holding true to what he only knew would work...or used to or figured will...Cling to the past...lean on an abundance of vets and new blood needs to sit and be patient...and basically rot away.......and he also let blood and guts guys go...ones who worked asses off not just in practice...but games...They knew to fight and claw their way to stay in lineup...Bailey being an example of one...But there were others

He is now back to where he was in the early yrs...a HC who I dont think knows how to actually coach up players....assess talent...Make smart decisions...Leading up to a game...as well as in game...He is unable to build anything not just from scratch...but in a transitional or reloading type of phase...He I dont thjink is as good as he gets credit for..Actually I dont think it...I know it...its obvious

And really if this is the seasons trajectory admin cap be damned we need to part ways....team needs a new voice...This isnt a this yr issue...And if he is as great as many like to think he will be snapped up by another team and then we wont have to pay him to sit at home and twidddle his thumbs

there is none...zero....Osh just smirks...looks confused...stares up at the big screen or looks at his call sheet...He should be up and down the sideline in players faces....coaches too....He should mid drive be yanking a guy off the field and replacing him...and if his Coord doesnt like it...so effin what..He's the HC so take control...take ownership...deliver consequences...Ship with no rudder we are...and I am relegated to accept a Captain who cant drive anyway

It is said that familiarity breeds contempt. But not nearly as much as success breeds contempt.

Mos came to enjoy winning moderately and not mind losing. If you watch the doc on Jordan's Bulls (or see the memes from it) Jordan hated losing far more than he loved winning. Loving winning wears thin; hating losing never stops or slows down.

Walters, I don't think, was such a reach, but he used to look so haggard in every presser or interview. He hasn't in a long time. Football is extremely hard on quality of life, especially with a family. Walters has taken a Danny Mac approach and is prioritizing quality of life, family, and sleep. No one in the organization is hungry enough, especially those with a boss's title of some sort or another. They want comfort and convenience, not bleeding-edge sacrifices to be the best possible. Walters used to run the Canadian side scouting, but more and more he's brought in others to support him and take pieces of the job up here away. Whereas those positions used to be more focused on scouting in the CFL and down south.

To Wade's level, the team is still the success story of the league. When the attendance drops, that changes. But the staff owns the product on the field. Will he get grumpy when attendance drops off, or would he be content to ride off into the sunset? I don't think he wants the president of the team to be his life's work. He's a guy who does a lot; this job has narrowed him down a lot.

I've said it before, and it won't happen, but travel home during the bye should be cancelled. We got blown out by 2 of the worst teams in the league at home back-to-back. Though it might be far more prudent to let the players go home and re-shuffle the deck in-house this week. We need the coaching staff and front office to be shaped up first. Their equivalent of going back to 2 a days mid season for an underperforming team back in the day. Tear down and rebuild the playbooks and install packages, redistribute power and play-calling duties, reassess positionally, and prepare to make moves to improve.

Otherwise, we might as well plan the fire sale before the trade deadline.

Osh has coached over 200 games with Winnipeg, only Buono has done that (with both Calgary and BC). Sadly it seems really clear he's past his expiry date. Ironic that last night Cal Murphy went into the ring because his tenure didn't end well and it feels like future Ring of Honour member MOS's tenure is also going to end badly.

O'Shea got too used to the team stepping up in the clutch when it mattered and pulling a game out of the fire. So he still has that conservative mindset except he doesn't have the horses anymore to rely on that so we end up breaking when it matters.

Needs to coach for the team he has now not the team he used to have.

Nothing is going to improve this season. Firing coaches and GMs mid season with no heir apparent already on staff would be even worse than what we are seeing now. Can't possibly bring in enough talent to bring us to contender status. This is where we are at. That being said, maybe Zac returns after the bye and it creates a spark. About all we can hope for.

I see and hear Jefferson and Ceresna being highlighted as a positive. BC's entire game plan was to go right at those guys. Their lack of discipline as veteran players is where all of the problems on our D start. Pass plays, no discipline on the pass rush, open up escape lanes for Salter. Zone read, Ceresna getting walled off and Horvath going 8 yards untouched or Jefferson getting baited to come inside and Salter having free run to the edge.

I don't really give a rip about 1 sack and 1 knockdown a game if you're getting beaten like a rented mule 30 snaps a game.

That was basically BC's 4th OL they've used in less than half a season. Multiple guys playing their first games, rookies. And we are getting bullied all over the field. We gotta know they are going to run zone read over and over again. We're getting baited to crash the backfield against a QB that doesn't even want to throw the ball over and over again.

This is basic stuff.

BC brings in a tight end, or goes double tight and puts all their receivers to the field. Our boundary corner (Williams) doesn't even know where to line up. He keeps looking around and ends up lining up at 10 yards depth over the centre. We end up with no contain man to the boundary and BC just attacks this repeatedly with Horvath and Salter.

Our D don't know their assignments well enough to adjust to formation. What exactly are we doing during the week to prepare for games?

They could drop Younger and put Ritchie back in charge.
