rookie qb comes into our field slaps us around and swags it up in a laugher. Some one in the front office needs to grow a set since the coaching staff refuses to.

Yup...we were tired lol...gimme a break...So how many days rest did the leo's have before coming to town....you know the team that had a rook qb ,,and a few others that never played a snap in the CFL...There is NO excuse for that debacle that will wash ....We were outplayed ....outsmarted...and quit ....and that's on OSH,Younger and Condell...Sticking with a pat hand after witnessing that garbage.....welllllll I can see a few empty seats at the next tilt at home

He's with the team but stepped away from DC role. Said he can no longer handle the grind. Was going to retire but MOS/Younger convinced him to stay on with a reduced work load

Players have to wear that as well. Its a fallacy that coaches are responsible for lacksadaisical or uninspired play...the players are 100% responsible for getting themselves physically and mentally prepared. The coaches are responsible for recognizing and acting on, if it isn't happening

Perfect for hc then...but from my understanding the issues are gone now..and they won't demote JY

Richie Hall was on Peterson show this off-season and his health very much concerns him still.

He is loving his reduced role and staying involved but is not interested in the grind anymore.

Won't demote JY? That's who needs to be fired first.

It isn't and hasn't happened.... Where's the action?

FACT: MOS and Walters are not going anywhere this year and probably for the next couple years

.FICTION: A coaching change, roster shuffle will suddenly make us contenders. We are far far away from contending atm

People too hung up on this administration cap..and u hang your hc first...history everywhere basically says and dictates that unless u doing total overhaul..which we dont need.

Nobody saying changing out some players will make us contenders.. but then again it also has every chance that it could..at the least make us better..and get a real good jump on 2027...playing it out as we are..just slows down progress and has us more behind the 8ball come spring...time to start the transformation is right now..during this bye and the middle 3rd of season.. cause that back third if done smartly could have us humming at just the right time..no reason to wait

A coaches job is to make sure players are in position to make plays and know how to execute within the play call. When a secondary is as soft as ours off the LOS thats on coaching. When guys run untouched into the end zone that's on coaching.

When our opposition comes down with every 50/50 ball, players are arm tackling, standing around, trying to cheat the playcall and getting burnt, throwing interceptions into double coverage etc..that's 100% on the players, be it talent level or lack of focus.

The first kind of mistakes the coaches need to recognize and fix the second the GM must recognize and begin making phone calls

Doesn't matter because it isn't happening. We need Kyle to go get us some scrap heaping done. That's how desperately we need new talent and some fresh perspective in our locker room

Exactly...and also coaches are responsible as well for the prep and getting guys ready..at least checking in to see if they are...its not a fallacy as mentioned...and none that occurs here

Do you know that they could be told to be off? So you are suggesting guys are just playing rogue..scheme and playbook be damned?

Thats a load of crap and if so and no coach at all has addressed it..or said wtf is going on..then yeah walters should can the whole lot of them as its totally on coaching then if nobody on staff knows what the hell is going on..let alone acting on guys not executing the game plan

And again...if its noticed that poor tackling is due to form..technique...effort...first thing that should be done first day u allowed to practice...which is one day is get to work on it

And before anyone says yeah but its no contact practices there are tons of techniques and drills to use..as a coach/trainer of collegiate athletes know first hand..done it..use a "thud tempo" exercise...over and over..use tackling dummies...rolling dummies..you can use rolling and even motorized targets..personal experience with it tells me I am right...leverage and pursuit angle work..can even go as far as make them go to basics with knee fit and circuit drills...act like lil pansies then treat em as such

Back when people couldn't stop beaming over how all these people wanted to come play for O'Shea I mentioned that back in the day kid's favourite teachers were the one's that demanded the least of them. That were the least likely to apply consequences for lack of ability/effort. Human nature, I guess...but it leads to what we're seeing now....a struggling team that few would want to come and play for because it's an obvious mess that shows no signs of being able to turn it around.

I don't know if anything would cause the players to give up on management more than disgracing an all-time great like Stanley Bryant. They could "injure" him or make him a backup (though being an American makes that unlikely). Releasing him outright mid-season is not how to treat a storied vet.

Letting your left tackle whiff on almost every play and get your quarterbacks injured is not how you treat your team or fans, either. Offer him a coaching job.

None of that is what I said at all. Was talking about in game shying away from contact, playing lazy, cheating the play, and mentally checking out in game. As a player if you are blaming that on coaching you are just playing silly bugger....and that is ALL happening way too often

On one hand you say part of the problem is MOS playing his old guys who can't get the job done anymore. On the other hand, you say you're going to lose the locker room if you cut and old guy who can't get the job done anymore. Face it, Stan isn't worth what we are paying him. He's taking up an import spot. He's taking up SMS. He's the poster boy for a MOS guy taking a spot because he used to be great.

Here's his exact words on the first comment.

"those big runs, especially near the end, we're just not where we're supposed to be and a combination, I imagine, of guys being tired near the end and also trying too hard, which is a bad combination"

2nd comment was more of a general statement. Towards the ends they talk about what's next and he says the players need to take care of their bodies/minds, come back from the bye ready to fix the mistakes and be firing on all cylinders. Very little accountability.

he’s saying mostly the same stuff as usual, but a bit more detail.

He sounds more somber than usual, even after a bad loss. Maybe it is starting to sink in for him.

The mafia are destroying what they worked soo hard to build in terms of “winnipeg football”, and it’s spreading to the point casual fans are flipping on them.

I think it's becoming obvious that they have no idea how they got the top in the first place, and thus have no clue how to get back.

MOS is way too fixated on days of practice, days between games for both his team and the next opponent.

Once everyone's dressed and on the field it does not matter. Get back to 1-0 this week thinking.

Before the GM does that the coaches need to deal with that player first. If the coach isn't willing to bench a player who isn't good enough and try the backups then that says to the GM the coach doesn't have a problem with the player.

Seriously you're twisting yourself into circles trying to make it seem like the gm and scouts are the main issue... But these guys have been here for long enough we've got a ton of history to look at and what we can say now is that Kyle Walters had more to do with our run than Mike O'Shea did. If we need a stacked roster to win what is the coach actually doing? Before 2019 I used to make excuses for O'Shea and say the same things, "gm needs to get him better players!" Time and history though show that osh gonna osh and if he's not handed a roster that can win on it's own he doesn't have any sort of magic touch.

Not to say the gm is flawless, I really didn't like his approach in the 2025 offseason, but he appeared to make some changes in how he operates this offseason. Guy who hasn't changed is the coach.

I don't even think O'Shea is a bad coach and to rebuild a shitty organization from nothing into a place that can be something he is quite good, but making the hard decisions to sustain success long term he sucks because of his way of operating.

He needs to stop pretending the team will watch film and get better and go actually do something to make it better. Sit down some guys who can't make plays, tell Jordan Younger to simplify things cause it's embarrassing, tell Tommy Condell to call an offense that isn't pre-school level for opposing teams to read.

Agreed. 2 practices in 5 days isn’t going to destroy them physically. A shorter week between 2 home games isn’t a huge deal.

No, you don't release him. But he should be where he deserves to be. If that's the PR then so be it. he shouldn't get a pass because of his past reputation. This is the same head coach who let Jake Thomas play for 3 seasons after he should have retired. Among other washed up vets.

I think the biggest problem we have right now is an organization, as a whole, that has failed to recognize it is time for a rebuild.

MOS and Kyle are excellent at rebuilding but piss poor at figuring out when its time for onr

I don't have any confidence that Osh can turn this team around. He's the kind of coach who needs to have great players around him to be a winner. He's not the kind of head coach who can put his team on his back & coach the **** out of his players like Wally Buono or John Hufnafel could. The most famous thing Osh is known for is FIFO & it's pretty clear that's over with. So, if they keep Osh through his entire contract, then Walters has to be even more aggressive in free agency as well as drafting better to help Osh out. We fell off the map compared to some of the brilliant early drafts that Walters had when he was position specific more than he is now.

Since 2022, due to his laissez faire attitude, especially in the 2024-25 off season, Walters let some very good players walk in free agency. That's totally on him. Roster construction & asset management as well as hiring competent assistant coaches is on Osh. As a GM, Walters should be able to fire one head coach before any fingers are totally pointed at him. But he is joined at the hip with Osh & together, I just don't know if together they can rebuild this mess they created. Some really bad decisions were made between 2022 & 25 between the two of them.

The talent may or may not be there, but until we get decent coaching, we will never know. There are lots of reasons to believe that if O'Shea was a good coach at one time, he is not that any longer.

Do you really honestly believe that this team is operating at it's absolute best level based on the players that are here? Like everyone is maximizing their potential and this the is best they have?
