In all seriousness tho. O should be better by default. Zach still Zach tho and when you live by the gun you die by the gun. Take the good you try to limit the bad. Let Zach manage the game and try to keep him with in his kind of zone like area and not ask him to throw 40 yard passes more than a few times a game and we should be ok. This O could be a time possession type of O who eats lots of clock and it’s prob best if it were. Spread the ball around. Is it nice to score in 3 4 plays? Yup but it’s also fun to score on 8 9 10 play drives. Gives your D who was solid last year and appears improved In a few key areas including cornerback which was a revolving door last year some rest also.

The O prob doesn’t need to be spectacular. Just be average or a bit better than average cuz last year we were garbage.

But essentially this is pre season 3. So not to high not to low. Still not even July lol.

Hot Take. Zach gets hurt. We trade for Dru after giving TE a few games where he shows potential and wins 1 loses 1 wins 1 loses 1 type thing. Dru comes in and goes on a run ala Zach where we end up winning the cup in Calgary and TE like Streveler plays a pivotal role in the finals where he hits Corcoran for the winning TD on a 3rd down gamble with seconds to go.

Hotter take cuz click rage bait. All players Booch endorse eventually get cut.

I think I’m more interested in attendance in Calgary and tv ratings for this game. Cuz Hamilton was like a 10 pack in a 20 pack box of Tim bits last night. Curious how the tv ratings did. Cuz yeah not sure this starting early thing. I’ll give Hamilton an excuse and Thursday so kids have school Friday. Calgary. No excuses for a Friday.

Odd...I said Griffin should be SAM (for over 2 yrs now)...Jenkins and Dixon should be on roster...Williams looked to be the best of the DB's and likely has that spot. Said Fletcher and Reese need to be kept around somehow...and if u actually look at my posts from TC I also said that I bet they keep Mazzccua after watching a few days of camp as there something there...and we kept him too....so kind of shows you are full of ****

As for previous guys I liked....Fox is playing elsewhere...Garbutt too but still hurt. Devon Adams landed a spot of defending Grey Cup Champs...so again, just cause the dear leader here cuts a guy isnt the be all end all....but keep being you

Bryant at LT concerns me. He’s arguably the best ol in CFL history, but he started to show signs of his age last year and he’s only going to get slower. Overall I think the line will be good, but that’s something I’m watching.

I agree with others who have said we’re an American receiver injury away from big problems. Will we run Perkins at wr now that Streveler is gone?

Edit: overall I think we’re a better team than we were last year.

I've had this OL concern all off-season... or at least since we signed Broxton... We had a top RT last year and then we signed a top LT... as much as I love the future HoFer/GOAT Big Stan... I have trouble believing a Bryant-Broxton bookend is better than a Broxton-Randolph combo...

Also in a emergency... I'd have to guess we line up Vaval at receiver

did you just steal this bit from @GCn20 ?

I dont think an extra regardless of how good is really gonna turn the needle in a extreme way to overall benefit things...If anything weakens the overall roster...Hopefully it's just an injury issue for this first game.

We had killer offences before with arguably the worst center in the league for 4 yrs, but we had minimum 3 import receivers all those yrs...sometimes 4

yeah I agree..Woodbey and Griffin now fulltime will be instant playmaking moments...bith be all-stars I bet

And the dline now has guys who all can play and are athletic...there is not one guy we are gonna sub in today that is pointless and a scrub

Our offence scares me tho and and we are a key injury away from a playmaker to be royally screwed...and an american rookie center with zero experience and a QB who is one solid hit away from being carted off on a stretcher for the yr is also concerning

If teams are able to take BO away...and one of White/Pokey/demski...if he even really healthy go out....good luck winning with offence...we gonna be a team I think that gonna have to win with killer defence and one that can put up a td here and there and Vaval having a yr as good or better than last

With the changes on the O-line, I wonder how long it will take for them to gel as a unit. Elsbury has not impressed me, but what do I know? Truth be told, we do have an increasingly brittle quarterback and unproved backups. Should Collaros get dinged in the first game due to the changes on the O-line, we are in a world of hurt. It shouldn't be hard for Elsbury to be an upgrade, but the line will need time to get used to each other, and I hope it will not be at the expense of Collaros.

I just want to see a win and a vast improvement on our anemic offense. Bryant's age does concern me and I really hope he gets pushed by Randolph.

I am excited to see what Ceresna does to the D line... And I am stoked that there is no Jake Thomas on the roster.

What excited me in pre season was that we were pressuring the QB. For the last two years it seemed like we had absolutely no push and no pressure on whoever we played. It will be nice to make a QB force a few throws every game.

yup first time since 2011 that Jake T. hasn't been starting. End of an era, that should have ended awhile ago lol...

Booch, lighten the **** up dude. Seriously. **** is not meant to be taken overly serious it’s just odd how you can’t admit you’re wrong yet you go on about O’Shea and his stubbornness. It’s just odd but it doesn’t matter. It really doesn’t.

Brother, can you please just relax on this obsession that you have with Booch? I don't know if you are aware this is what is happening, but here's how literally everyone else sees these conversations going.

Goalie (completely unprovoked): "BOOCH THIS BOOCH THAT Booch is so annoying" followed by a strange multi paragraph rant

Booch (in response): "I mean, in response to what you said, I actually was kind of proven right on that particular point"

Goalie (in response): "Lighten the **** up dude"

It's game day of the season opener, it's been a long off-season, we all have our faults but for crying out loud, just grow up and enjoy today for what it is. The start of the Bomber season. Go Blue.

Well the Riders have gone a minimum of six years between Cup wins so chances are excellent that many teams end up challenging them and knocking them off. Its called history, Jay.

gonna have to push hard...He in Toronto now lol

I not concerned about Bryant in the least...until I see reason to be...Hvnt seen it yet

Watched him exclusively in camp visits I went to, and I didnt see an issue...Now if if in the games as season drags on and he seems to be struggling...well then maybe we do some adjusting but as of today...No issue

yeah...very much anticipating a bit of a defensive mindset evolution this yr...we seemed to have the horses to play a pressure game, and as mentiuoned earlier...there is no real slug going to be rotating in...let alone taking lionshare of reps like last few yrs

It's very possibly hopium but I have one whole complaint about the defense so I'm pretty excited about what that could look like this year. I like the pieces we brought in - Jenkins is a monster physical presence on the edge and I think it's crazy to think about the idea that on any given snap, you might be a tackle lining up against either Willie, Jake or Kydran. That's a lot of different tools in the toolbox to contend with. Another year of Woodbey is something I'm excited about, he gives me a lot of Adarius Pickett (with an extra 25 pounds) vibes and I genuinely think he could be an all-star on the back of a ton of splash playmaking. Our secondary seems like it's got the potential to be pretty exciting and I do like that we have a ton of versatility in all three levels.

Our offense both scares and bores the hell out of me. I know that we've got big pieces (Brady, White, Demski and Pokey) but we have so many questions - the Broxton to RT is a move that I don't think we discuss enough as being risky, rookie American center could be less than ideal, our depth is about as thin as thin gets, our utility players seem like there's a good shot they're incredibly useless - so I'm just not sure how that all shakes out. I trust in Condell but I'm whelmed currently. Maybe we see Brady get 1800 yards all purpose and White/Pokey both go for 1000 while Demski/Nield provide 700-800 each but I just don't know if I see it.

I think it can be safely argued that in all of those scenarios you laid out the defences on those teams left a lot to be desired as well.

That being said...I see a 30-17 win
