I’m at camp today. First observation is DeShaan Dixon has the shortest shorts I’ve ever seen on a football player.

  • It’s starting to feel like, a week in, it’s business as usual and we haven’t learned much. Still looks like we’re getting ready to trot out 8-9 Canadians for no reason and value experience above every

But his season as a whole had nothing wrong with it was all I saying...If we were to cut guys who chockd a play or 2 in playoffs ZC would been gone 3 yrs ago now

yeah, that's not fair of me to judge a guy by that one whiff .. but that play was the hope crusher that ended our season, so I remember it really really well and I was surprised we invited him back.

what's the deal with Connor Shay... he was supposed to be the most pro-ready prospect in last year's draft... and he played about 6 defensive snaps last year... is he any closer to actually being a defensive player this year?

I don't think so. Feels like Smith is ahead of him and he's still buried behind all the Americans.

Worth noting that Smith was their first round target because they didn't think Shay would be available and they picked him last minute.

Smith was more pro-ready, Shay had more upside because he has played S and could play Wil with minimal need to sub for a dime.

We are trying to shoehorn Shay at Sam, and it's not going great.

It's at the 1 hr 45 min mark. Strevy is right pissed at Wynn, swears at him, gets a 10 yard penalty from Frenchie, then limps off the field because Wynn twisted his knee in the pile. Screw that guy.

So Strev's penalty on the a-hole Wynn makes it second and 17. Andrew Harris says "no problem" and gets it all back on the next play. Man I loved that 2019 team.

So Shay would be better in a different spot?

100%. I don't think he will ever be a cover sam in the cfl.

i agree....it was a gut punch for sure from a quality vet like that

yeah...we need to let him play his natural spots...we dont need him at SAM...Griffin..Woodbey..Smith and kramdi have that more than covered

Yup...WIL or MLB....he isnt fluid and greasy hipped enough for SAM....he is built thon to work nicely in the box...say....In Jones role 😁

Personally thought Shay was here to take Jones spot but not yet.

Clercius out for Friday according to 3D Nation. So Cobb or Corcoran in that spot?

Lord help us no.....Lord help ZC if that the case

Id bet on it. Probably corcoran starting. Or they’ll throw the extra blocker in.

I wonder if they will play eli as the 6th since he’s not 100% and doing partial practices.

I'd bet Clercius goes on the 6 game. He took a nasty shot on that knee. I'd bet on Cobb for the last receiver, with Corky backing him up.

If they were serious about starting 3 Canadian receivers they should have picked one up early in the draft. Picking a blocking tight end in the second and yet another Canadian linebacker who won’t see meaningful reps seems like a wasted opportunity.

This is what I don't get. We have Canadian spots designated on the roster and we don't draft based on those set in stone positions.

But Cobb with 6 catches & an 8.5 yards avg per catch in 2025 is solid. Have faith.🙄

Or signed another proven Canadian free agent receiver with experience.

If they are serious about playing a TE often then I think that's your answer. The 5th WR (3rd Canadian WR) would be frequently coming out for Daniels, Eli, and/or MCI. I'm interested to see what the offence looks like. That 5th WR might be seeing <20 snaps per game for all we know at this point.

I feel like this is what it has to be ... variety and a multitude of different offensive sets is what I'd expect. Realistically, I think they're going to be giving the opposition a lot of different looks this season, which I don't mind at all. I don't really know if we can trust Zach to beat good teams with his arm, but I do have some level of belief we can beat good teams with Condell being able to create a lot of confusion on what we are doing on offense.

but you still want a guy who can do something with those snaps, and or take the attention of a db and not be ignored essentially....opens up things elsewhere

yeah hard to say...Before Clercius got hurt we have a lot of diff options/looks we could give with him and MCI...still not sold on Danials yet unless they have some stuff they kept hidden hey are gonna unleash.

As I saw nothing to lead one to believe he gonna be basically doing what Eli did....and if that the case let Eli do it as he is better at it in the blocking aspect

Taking 1-2 potential eligible receivers off the board for defenses many downs is sure to help....strategically.

I'm anticipating D Daniels being a dude who mostly stands on the sideline holding his helmet for a long stretch here. 2020's Jade Etienne. Won't even play special teams.

Depth chart out.

Love the look of the D as long as we see lots of Smith and Woodbey.

Best D-line we've dressed in years by the looks of it.

On O, would love Singer in over Cobb. Tui not starting at centre, was limited in practice. Don't know if it is that or if they just like Elsbury better.

Love the look of that D. O looking solid too. I guess we'll see what the plan is for Daniels.

Yeah really no need to start Cobb. Kramdi, Lawson, Neufeld, Wallace, Demski, Nield, Oliveira makes 7. Singer offers much more upside/explosiveness.
