Suckskatchewan @ Champs PGT

Opponent unknown, but the Bombers will host the Western Final for the first time in 49 years.

Can Harris come back?
I'm assuming McGuire dresses behind Collaros?
Who's in/who's out?

Long, long range weather (as of November 22): High -3, feels like -9. Wind 21.

(as of November 24): High -11, feels like -18. Wind 26.

(as of November 26): High -5, feels like -10. Wind 18, gusting 27.

(as of November 29): High -9, feels like -14, Wind 14, gusting 24.

(as of December 1): High -7, feels like -12, Wind 20, gusting 30.

(as of December 3): High -5, feels like -12, Wind 33, gusting 50.  This is interesting, the wind has picked up SIGNIFICANTLY, to the point that I don't even think the kicking game is going to matter. But, the high on Monday is -22, which tells me it's likely the temperature will get much colder prior to or during the game. The weather is definitely going to be a factor but we're still too far out to see what the full impact will be. It's going to be fun.

  • hey - Andrew Harris is back - we've all moved on.....

  • Interesting that Harris is listed as “Guaranteed To Dominate”… seems a little arrogant but I can’t really disagree!

  • Watching the Rider fans cry is so euphoric to me. Rider_Stronson over there having a meltdown, you love to see it. We handed them the game multiple times and they couldn’t take it. **** em, so gl

The real question is who does he bump off the roster.   The fact that Harris, Oliveira, and Augustine are all Canadian, gives lots of flexibility here, because you can dress them all.

So is having Harris at 85% better than the backup / special teams Canadian we'd have to take off the roster.

Brady and JA are both good on teams. That helps too.

Free Youth Ticket for West Final

We are getting close to the West Final on December 5th, kick off at 3:00 pm, gates and pre-game tailgate area open at 1:30pm.
The Winnipeg Football Club recently held a Youth Football Summit for volunteer coaches and administration of clubs and high school programs. We had great discussions on how to increase participation and grow our game in the province.

One of the items that came out the summit was that kids need to watch more football. This pandemic has been hard on everyone, especially our youth. I am pleased to share you with that The Winnipeg Football Club, on behalf of our Corporate partners, are able to extend the following offer to you.

Buy One Adult Ticket and get One Youth Ticket FREE
To redeem this offer, visit: www.ticketmaster.ca/bombers

Click on “See Tickets” for the December 5 – CFL Western Final: Winnipeg Blue Bombers v. TBD
On the top right-hand side, click the drop down to change the quantity of tickets to purchase.

Come be a part of history as your Winnipeg Blue Bombers march towards the Grey Cup. We need a loud and full stadium to prove our fans are truly the loudest fans in the CFL and our 13th man during the game.

Some good stuff from Our Man Tait, (please give them a click!) including:

Asked specifically about Alexander’s availability for the West Final — the all-star safety was injured in the second quarter in the loss to Calgary and did not return — O’Shea said “he’ll be good.”
The possibility of a return for Harris, meanwhile, remains unknown.
“We’ve had a plan for him for weeks,” O’Shea said. “He’s spending a lot of time with Al (Couture, Head Athletic Therapist) and Brayden (Miller, Strength & Conditioning Coordinator) and is getting his work in. We’ll just keep up with that process until we’ve got to make a decision.
“We’re not far enough along yet to assess whether (him playing) that’s going to happen or not. We stick to our daily routine and we see progress so we just keep going at that.”

I am glad that Alexander seems ok.

He didn't practise today, so I'm not sure where you get OK from. Tell me it isn't MOS' statement.

Reporters had it out earlier today that he was on the field today doing some work, Bob Irving stated only Harris is a question mark and MOS statement.

Harris should be the starter with Augustine as back up. If Harris's load is slightly reduced due to injury then Johnny gives us the better chance out of the back ups for gaining positive yards.

This needs to be a year long thing for next year.

I don't think you can just let every kid in for free with a paid adult admission....without some major corporate help. You'd just lose way too much money. But hopefully they can do something SIMILAR next year.

If Harris can't play in the WF, then I wouldn't put him in for the GC even if he's healthy enough, because he'd be so rusty. So why not just shut him down for the year? The whole thing is really odd.

I don't think he's coming back this year. How the Nichols injury was handled in 2019 made me think there's no way he'll be back this year unless O'Shea says he will play for sure. I sure hope I'm wrong, but there's a history of "might be back" being extended for a long period of time. I'd love it if he can at least split carries while getting sharp for the cup.

I think if there were a limited number for each game, that would be a safer way for them to do it.  That being said, if you would otherwise only have 26,000 in the seat, and now you get an extra 2,000 kids, that doesn't really cost the team anything, and they make money on concessions, so unless there would otherwise be a sellout, I think it's a win-win for the team.

Some of the sections that are slow to sell.

Yeah, that's absolutely fair...better to have butts in the seats.

Love that promo by Wade Miller. I remember being 11 years old and my uncle taking me to the western semi finals against BC in 2002 or was it 2003? Front row by the BC bench. “BC SUCKS” growing the game is important so let’s get the kids out!

I think giving away a lot  of free tickets to kids is a great idea. You want to hook them early. Turn them into life long savages like us. A free 40 dollar ticket for a kid means that in 40 years the kid will fly back home in the freezing cold and buy 2 tickets, merch, and support the local economy with hotel and food money spent in town.

A budy was dragging his feet about buying tickets. I told him about this promo and he bought 4 tickets right away.

If you were to have one endzone be the madness of the Rum Hut and the other basically be the old Family Fun Zone I think that works well.

The Bombers come out of the tunnel there, the alcohol free section is there, I think it works on a lot of levels.

40 years from now we will just teleport into our seats 5 minutes before game time.

I think I started really watching the CFL when I was about 12 years old, which started my love for the game. I like the move by Miller a lot. Grow the game!

Again the Bomber org shows the way.

Some of my best memories as a kid are in the family fun zone of the old stadium with my dad.

From heart break watching the 87 Bombers get stuffed at the goal line against the Argos.

Watching Tommy Burgess break through the middle of the Argos defense to set up the winning field goal in 1990.

Realizing we were all watching history as the old man had OB in his ear for the yardage count for Dunigans magical night.

Having my heart sink watching Dunigan carted off the field with a Achilles tear, hitting the goal post for a sure TD to Wilcox against Balitimore.

Saying Wow for many years seeing Blink do his thing.

Greg Clark destroying people.

The preseason game that saw a young Casey Printers come in a shred us, asking who is this guy??

The magic that a no name KD Williams was running all over the field making plays.

Wondering how Jon Volpe ran his Liond to a win during the 90's in a random game.

I could go on and on.

Great promo.
