Labour Day Classic GAMEDAY THREAD

Gameday! Get ready for action!

I still get more excited about this game than almost any other one on the schedule, even though we get our asses kicked pretty much every year. The prospect of going into Regina and beating them on Labour Day just makes it feel like Christmas morning.

The Bombers have had 7 starting quarterbacks for the LDC in the last decade, including Chris Streveler today. Let's see what the kid can do.

  • At the risk of being unpopular, I'm going to place the blame squarely on all of you, the fans.

  • I hope to see a lot of Bomber fans out here today! Our hotel is packed with them.  Have fun, be safe and don't, under any circumstances, drink Pilsner.  Go Bombers!

Fajardo was awful.

Fajardo did enough to get the win. He’s not the 3rd string QB everybody says he is.  He got them the win, and that’s 6 in a row.

Hes not awful..

Rider are way. State then anyone gives them credit with a rookie an.  Take off the homer glasses.

Is this an old Enigma code?

Riders are a good team. The Labour Day Regina game is THE hardest regular season game to win all year. Streveler did okay. He needs to clean up his game for the Banjo Bowl.

Powell ran for almost 30 on that last drive.  Albert Awachie kicked Bighill's ass on the big run, Bighill was in the gap Powell went through.

Fajardo did nothing

Not calling 2 holds cost us a TD.

Fajardo is who we knew he was. Glorified backup. O was mostoy embarrassing vs a massively overrated Sask D, and then our sometimes vaunted D folds like a cheap tent when it matters. Sask is every bit as overrated as I knew they were. It is a ******* joke that we lost this even with so many backups playing.

Could have tried a long medlock fg instead of faking it.. Getting it but then going backwards 14 yards

Yup another huge play we missed out on. A terrible first down play to counter the blitz and then the awful draw play on second and a ton.

I need some strong alcohol to forget about Lapo’s playcalling..

With it being the LDC, I was pleasantly surprised that they lost by so little.

Yes. We didn't have much of an answer for the Rider pressure. We did miss Harris

Best thing he did was not make a fatal error.  With the field position advantage they had in the first half this game should have been over.

Riders certainly didn't want to rely on his arm on the winning drive.

Say what u want.. The O moved the ball after the 1st quarter.  The D just lost it at the end. FG to win. Just stop em b4 the 45 50 yard line.. They gave up 80 yards tho and didnt put up much of a fight.

We treat first down plays like they're free downs, like they're not concerned with making plays. Happy for a few yards and 2nd and 6 each time.

See you next week , Cody

How many more players are injured after this game?

It really doesn’t matter about what you said.

No errors, and enough to hit receivers in stride and execute the play calls.

Who won?

Rewatch that drive again... watch how many times they got a first down because of a non-call on an egregious hold... the one where Fajita runs of the left tackle... our D-end couldn't get to him because... holding- the guy got mugged. A few of those throws? holding... not much you can do as a defense if your pressure is negated by non-called holding...

Good game by all. Slugfest.

Cody went 25/39 for 300 yards, a TD, 2 INT. I'd say he played pretty well, including engineering a game winning drive from the 5 yard line.

Looking forward to the Banjo Bowl.

Wow. Disappointing. Down in the States with extended family for a cycling weekend.  Hooked up our laptop to the TV and watched on ESPN+, the whole lot of us.

Pretty quiet, depressed room right after…

When we needed our D to make a play they couldn't do it. We can't say our D is great until they back it up in the clutch. The Riders went 87 yards 0n their final drive to beat us. That is the most frustrating thing.
