Thanksgiving Football

Good morning everyone, it's a great day to watch the Riders get stomped at home.

First things first, can Johnny Football shock the world and lead the Als to a win over the Stampeders??

  • The Reilly hit should have been RTP. I really don’t understand the waffling. A helmet to helmet hit used to be automatic. What’s changed? I’ve seen hand slaps on helmets called for RTP.

  • BLM must think he’s playing in the Grey Cup. 😎

  • More from Rider columnist Darrell Davis..telling it like it is. “Until Willie Jefferson made a Willie Jefferson-type play that was somehow allowed by the CFL’s video-review officials, the Saskatc

Noticed this in particular, when we played them.   If anyone gets within 5 yards of Manziel....he breaks the pocket immediately, whether people are blocked up, or not

BLM - 20/34 58.8% 199 0 TD 3 int. 39 longest

JM - 17/28 60.7% 240 01int. 52 longest

So, who’s the stinker in this one?

Montreal gave up 6 sacks in this game. Calgary gave up 3

GAME NOTES - before the game:

Montreal 5+ Sacks Last 4 games: The Alouettes have now allowed 5 or more Sacks in each of the last 4 games - the first time in all of their club history that any Montreal team has done so. The last time Montreal allowed 5+ Sacks in 3 games in a row was back in 1986. The last CFL to allow 5+ Sacks in 4 or more consecutive games was Winnipeg in 1996.
 Montreal 53 Sacks Allowed: The Alouettes have allowed the most QB Sacks in the CFL with 53 and are on pace for 68. That would match the most (68 in 2007) that they given up since 1986 (75).

Edmonton comes out and does nothing first drive.  Couple chucks downfield.  Uninspired.

I'm not a believer in Jason Maas. His teams are undisciplined because he's undisciplined. I truly don't think they're going to go anywhere with him.

When does Maas con tract expire? I'm sure Hervey wants him in BC in order to sign Reilly.

What makes you think Reilly wants to be with Maas?

That’s what I thought.

I don’t think he’ll miss Mass much..

Wait, are you saying if we hire Maas, we could land MR?

Familiarity. Maas was Hervey's man in Edmonton. Anyway, do you know when his contract expires?

Reilly and BLM both FA this offseason

Willie Jefferson is such an ass.

Take away the deep ball from Reilly & what you see is what you get.

Hmmm. Doubt either of them leave their teams, but the thought of having one of them joining the Bombers intrigues me.

Really like Jim Barker on the panel.

Stegall, Dunigan, Barker is the best panel I've seen.

I can't imagine how much $$$ it would take to pry Mitchell out of Calgary as he is extremely close to Dickenson.

They look to be phasing out Jock Climie which is no big loss. Don't think much of Davis Sanchez on the panel. He does good work with Brodie Lawson on CFL.ca. That's where he should stay.

Reilly think is nicked and has been for a bit..the interception was an off throw and some of his misses make you wonder..just doesnt seem right.

I hate the sask tire pumping too..saying and showing the Zack attack bs where he is 6-1 in last 7 games...barely throwing over 60 percent..6 TDs to 8 int's and averaging about 240 yards a game..like really?

Just shows how lucky and flukey their wins have been and it wont sustain them..even this game..pathetic offense again working against a sappy edm defence

I love it. Let them be fat and happy going into the playoffs.

Suitor always adds more to it when he does rider games

For all the angst about the Bombers, we're seeing that every team in the West has some serious flaws heading down the stretch.

Teams are beat up. I'd be happy if they went back to a 16 game schedule.

Yes, BLM will stay in Calgary and the only other place I could see Reilly going is B.C.

My hope (and maybe best possibility for us) is that Nichols and Shreveler play out their contracts next year and then Nichols backs up Shreveler for a couple of years after that.

I don't know if BLM would stay. He might go elsewhere but it'd take $700,000 -$800,000 or more to do it. If the salary cap goes up significantly with the new collective agreement then why not?
