Regular Season Bomber News & Discussion

Training Camp is over, the roster has been set, and the biggest Q is who should MOS start at QB.

The Bomber Brass are comparing notes on that and have yet to decide so its not clear cut by any means. The default is Ross by a nose but we could have 3 legit thoroughbreds in our stable all at once.

I personally believe Steveler has the most upside based on pure talent, scrambling pizzazz, and the ability to see the whole field. He is also the most likely to turn the ball over and make gigantically good plays. Ross will protect the ball best and run the short game well.

Ross may have played the most regular season downs but Bennett has the most experience especially in the Bomber system. I can see us saying later in the year "why didn't we start using Bennett earlier?" He is my pick for short yardage QB but I would be happy with Steveler in that role too.  My best guess: Ross starts but Steveler comes in as soon as Ross has two or three bad series in a row.

yeah...I noticed he was there as well...The Riders were pretty cocky and full of themselves tho...wonder what started it all

Well, we used to have an OL that placed a heavy emphasis on helping the QB.....like yelling "look out!" as often as possible, and never failing to help our QB's up off the ground, after yet another sack.

This current crew just takes no mess, from anyone, anytime.....

To be fair, our OL was the BEST at helping the QB up off the turf. Often, helping the QB to the sidelines or onto the cart. So much practice.

Don't forget the style points..... like looking around at each other, as opposing pass rushers breezed by, with stunned looks on their faces....

I saw them as matadors. As the bulls rushed past, they simply side-stepped them. Ole!

Very well mannered group, one used to bring a broom and dustpan onto the field to help sweep up Buck's chiclets and other assorted body parts.

It was like a weekly Running of The Bulls, for Bomber quarterbacks

Roh is absolutely right.  There are dirty and unnecessary hits all over the field and aside from the “tourist hits” most of them get no scrutiny.

Never mind, it use to annoy the **** out of me how many times our QB's would get NO help from their Olineman when getting off the turf. Or an opponent would stand over Buck or talk **** on their way by, and not a single OL took exception. Drove me crazy for years. I longed for the day a Bomber OL would get a penalty for smacking someone who took a cheap shot at a bomber

Love hearing Rider fans complain. Complaining O'shea was a dirty player and he teaches all his players to be dirty and cheat.....

Would be interesting to know the stats on how many times we were actually fined this year and for what compared to other teams.

And talking about cheating and taking your coaches personality? They gave a coach who has been caught cheating several times and fined for it and players who act cocky and showboat. Talk about being hypocrites.

So funny, revisionist history in the making.  Riderfans are in a bee-buzzing frenzy establishing their narrative excuse for the 2018 season and how the Bombers and "Dirty O'Shea" somehow managed to cheat the Riders out of victory in the playoffs, once well crafted the story will fester on for all eternity and become a much repeated legend.

Meanwhile back at the shack, Chris Jones and company are sitting back sipping bourbon and cackling wildly as they've been exonerated of any failings by their half-witted employers and will probably be rewarded with an extension.

Some goof on Facebook broke a vein on his forehead about “the dirty bombers, dirty player culture, dirty O’Shea. He cheated as a player. The bombers cheat. That’s what a penalty proves, they cheat. Cheating cheaters.” Quite the ******* incredible rant.

We did it again, boys. If we need more wool to pull over their eyes, there are plenty more sheep to shear.

That was a funny post....especially with where the Bombers finished penalty wise on the season.

Best step back or you're liable to be coated in spittle.  Pity Ambrosie, he'd better wear a wet suit and snorkel and pack a baseball bat when he attends Grey Cup events next week to keep frothing Rider fans at bay.

i'll take those fines every week...that o-line takes no sit...and has everyones back...watching them run over and through the riders..especially in that 4th quarter and hear them just chirping away at them was a thing of beauty...especially with the beaking off the Riders did pre game out at the mid field area in warm-ups...u can catch some of it on CFLWired

I hope the team (or teammates) chips in and pays these fines... the o-line is the heart and soul of this team and sometimes those little extra hits are what makes them intimidating... they don't typically do anything dirty, just a little extra to remind the opponent who they're playing against...

And it sure goes against the narrative some were concerned we our more focused on building a team of choir boys... rather than good football players...

This is so hilariously ironic... only a Rider fan would be stupid enough to make this argument...

I was just reading there this morning for a laugh yet again.....but yeh some of the stuff they post is disturbing.  Disturbing to the point that in my opinion they are actually embarrassing the league as a whole.
