Bombers Training Camp 2017 - May 28

RHÉANNE M.

WINNIPEG, MB., May 11, 2017 –  The Winnipeg Blue Bombers today announce the club has invited Winnipeg Rifles wide receivers Xander Tachinski (#73) and Brendan Naujoks (#74), running back Michael Ritchott (#76), and defensive back Andrew Ricard (#77) to take part in the club’s three-day rookie camp commencing Wednesday, May 24. The players will continue with the team through the first part of the main training camp.

Tachinski and Ritchott attended part of last season’s rookie camp, and most recently played in their third and fourth years with the Rifles, respectively. Naujoks and Ricard have both spent three seasons with the Rifles.

“The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have continued to try to invest in the growth of younger football players within Manitoba,” said General Manager Kyle Walters. “This will be a great experience for all of them to be on the field with professional players, and to continue to grow as athletes.”

Quarterbacks and CFL newcomers will report to Winnipeg and will be on the field for the opening of rookie camp on Wednesday, May 24th. Veterans report on May 26th and will begin practicing on May 28th.

The Blue Bombers will play two pre-season games:  June 10th at Mosaic Stadium in Regina against the Saskatchewan Roughriders, and June 15th at Investors Group Field against the Edmonton Eskimos.

Best TC report so far, thanks Cody

I miss that guy that said he was there and really wasn't, reporting on imagined controversies within the team and the like. He made fake news a happening at MBB a few seasons ago, before fake news became a catch phrase LOL ...

Somehow I don't see MOS acting like this:

On a related note, when do we cut down from rookie camp?

I like you a lot, that's why it was so hard to cut you LOL

I like TJ Thorpe but my god is that a bad highlight tape. He was out of bounds on the nicest run he had.

That one sock run was a thing of beauty? ;) Never heard that tune on highlight packs before either ;)

Dangerous but gutsy to keep running with one shoe. Especially for a guy who has broken his foot, twice.

So many of us were just ******* incensed by him. I remember some of his first reports, when he was responding from the same camp that I was at.... and there was just no basis in reality. I remember questioning whether I was just not seeing what he was....until the psychopathology started to shine through.

Hahaha good times.

I don't know what you were watching. He broke about 30 ankles in the open field and made 5-6 very nice diving grabs. Kid was breaking tons of arm tackles. I really liked it.

For clarity, perhaps attitude isn't a good way to describe it, delusional psychosis disorder might be more apropo ;)

Gotcha, hopefully this guy doesn't try to impersonate Michael Jackson

Well, we're up to ten pages... and I think three of the posts are actual camp updates...  so yeah, I'd be fine with fake news.

It was day 3 of Rookie Camp today. Opening day of Training Camp is Sunday. There's your camp update. Are you not entertained?

I want to know how Mike OShea was feeling.

While I'm waiting for main camp, might as well have a nap and dream of pie ...

Woe.....Bell wasn't given much of a window but if he doesn't have it, he doesn't have it.  No sense wasting people's time.  All the more reason to get pumped on Apodaca.

Curious about Tylor Henry. Did he get hurt? Hard to imagine not even getting to main camp, as an NI...

They must either REALLY like Apodaca or are bringing in another QB.

... side note, can Tylor Henry go back to school?

Probably, but even still a camp would have done him some good.  I don't think he was a counter, so why cut him now?

What's not to like about Apodaca....This kid looks like a keeper especially after hearing his first interview...Talented...smart and although it's early, I think he sticks
