Yes it has.  I'm curious also about his roster bonus he likely collected before he retired too.  Seems retirements are more funny and discussion worthy when they happen elsewhere

They're really only funny and worth more discussion when the team goes on about how the "big name" free agent signed with them and got a nice SIGNING (not the same as a Roster bonus fyi) bonus only to retire before even playing a single game.

I know you want to try to make it seem like the Price and Waggoner situations are similar (maybe to help make you feel better about that horrible off season last year?). But they aren't. Except for the fact that both players played football in the CFL. Waggoner actually played for the bombers. Unlike Mo, who played Jones and the Rider organization.

So again, I know priders are all over Bomber retirements with "I guess it's not funny when it happens to you" and the like. But the Mo price situation is unique in that he never once played for the riders, AND was a bigger name. So while other teams have had oddly timed retirements. Nothing has come close to being as funny as the Price retirement. I hope that helps clear up this insanely easy to understand situation for you.

That's quite the hot take. His level of class is dependent on how he rates the Bomber forum?

First class and no class at the same time. Even on the forums he gets no respect!

The guys they traded for only to have them promptly retire were equally as funny. We got a season out of Smith, and two out of Waggoner....not the same thing at all.

Why on Earth does anyone need to compare one site versus another? That leads to either snobishness or depression. This forum is good. Period. Not perfect, but what is? Lets us enjoy what we have and STFU.

let's keep further discussion to just religion or politics, that should make it more civil.  Now about that Justin Trudeau.... :)

WINNIPEG, MB., May 16, 2017 – The Winnipeg Blue Bombers today announce the club has signed International quarterbacks Austin Apodaca and Malcolm Bell, and International defensive back Chance Casey.

Apodaca (6-3, 212, New Mexico, February 22, 1994 in Longmont, CO) spent two seasons with the New Mexico Lobos after transferring from Mesa Community College via Washington State. He played in 19 of 27 games for the Lobos and threw for 1,377 yards, completing 53.1% of his passes. Apodaca was an Academic All-Mountain West selection in 2015. Starting at Mesa Community College in 2014, Apodaca threw for 2,534 yards and 27 touchdowns, while completing 59.1% of his passes. He also rushed for 133 yards and four touchdowns.

Bell (6-1, 190, North Carolina Central, March 16, 1994 in Richmond, VA) finished his career at North Carolina Central with a record of 24-10, including 9-3 in his senior season of 2016. Bell started 24 consecutive games at quarterback to cap his college career and was among NCCU career leaders after finishing second in passing with 6,340 yards and second in total offense with 7,844 yards. Bell accounted for 62 total touchdowns - 20 rushing and 42 passing.

Casey (5-11, 190, Baylor, March 11, 1991 in Southlake, TX) spent four years with the Baylor Bears, starting 33 of 43 career games played. He was an All-Big 12 Freshman in 2009 and played in the Casino Del Sol College All-Star game in 2013. Casey signed with the Oakland Raiders as an undrafted free agent in 2013 and has spent time with multiple NFL teams, including most recently the Jacksonville Jaguars.

If Apodaca actually becomes something, I'm just putting it out there that we're only accepting: Avocado, Alpaca or, for you SNL fans, AppleDap....

How about Appaloosa....kid runs like a thoroughbred....could be a good one and with his arm could move up the charts quickly in the 'stable' of qb's we have now signed.

Except that's not funny, and if it's not funny, what's the point? And by funny, I mean it must reference Simpsons, Family Guy or SNL in some way...... :)

A scrambling TD, missed an open receiver and a one-handed catch... hmm.

What struck me most was the excuses for missing the open man. His pre snap read combined with the way the defense played soo shallow should have made it clear even if it was 100% obscured. But then that type of thing always rubs me poorly.

"This was my first viewing of Bell’s game from a scouting perspective. I’ve watched NCCU over the last two seasons from an analyst standpoint and I’ve been on record saying how much Bell has improved his game over last season. This was a great showing from him from a reading the field standpoint and mental toughness standpoint.  First, the athleticism he has at the position is clearly evident. Bell has cat-like quickness to get himself out of trouble and above-average short-area burst to split defenders.  From a passing standpoint, he shows the ability to throw with touch at all three levels.  Certain routes he tends to flatline, which could cause tipped passes.  He throws well on the move to either side.  At times he’ll force a throw over the middle of the field that’ll get him into trouble, but overall, he has all of the requisite tools you need to succeed at the next level.  I came away very impressed how he handled the blitz and 3rd downs.  This is where the mental toughness part came into play. Bell routinely ‘did what he had to do’ to keep plays and drives alive.  I think he still has growth in his game."

career numbers of 57% completion, 6340 yards, with and average pass of 7 yards, 42 tds to 33 ints. 42 passing tds in 42 games, but he clearly didnt play much of the first 8 games he dressed.

Only watch some of the highlights reels, but he does have a ton of em up going back to HS. The scouting reports n stuff say he improved every year. But production looks better his first year starting (14) then his senior year (16). But it is certainly harder to be effective when you are on a team 4 years and start 3. Especially as a mobile qb. I like that he is a 3 years starter and spent 4 years in the same system. A lot of the young guys we bring in seem to be guys with very limited experience and who bounce between teams a lot. He tends to reach back on his passes, and some times fall into a wind up motion. It slows down his release a good bit. But he does play much better and quicker when rushed. Really shortens up his release and gets it out. I like his elusive speed and movement. And that he knows where the first down marker is when he runs. Too bad we didnt have him around for mini camp. Should be fun to watch in TC. He and applejax (apodaca) give us an interesting battle for developmental qb. Both are young, athletic and have tons of up side.
