  2. That's on you, not the Bombers. Yep. If you can't bother to find out, it's your problem. You are all missing the point. This is the first time in my life that the bombers have taken a back seat to everything else. I've skipped birthdays dinners etc to watch bombers games. the gong show has changed my from an hardcore fan to blah.
  3. Totally missed this game today. That's how bad this season has gotten. I don't recall the last time I missed a game or didn't even know when it started.
  4. he has been cut twice, crapped on by buano as "maxed out potential" and "uncoachable" a tag given to him here as well.. you realize there is more to being a qb then sort of running an offense and throwing the ball over them mountains, right? He calls ISO out for sticking to his guns regarding ettienne, but can't see that he doing the same for Eliot. Meh. They all suck.
  5. Etienne hasn't exactly done anything in three seasons to dispute his original opinion of him. And this is coming from a guy who was a big fan of the choice and is still a fan of the player. He also hasn't had a lot of opportunities to do anything given the problems surrounding the team. I mean a player who was picked and the management came right out and said he's a project shouldn't be judged by his first couple years, and it did appear that there were some glimpses of a good player in there at times this year. He certainly has shown glimpses, but I think even less has been expected of Kohlert and he's come through. I still think given the right opportunities than JE can be a fantastic player, but, whether it's his fault or not, this is still a results-oriented business. He hasn't been given a legitimate shot to succeed. His past skillset suggests he just needs room to grow and the right support system around him. He has shown glimpses of not just competence, but excellence. Unfortunately, the results just haven't went his way. This reasoning could be used to defend Jade Etienne. It could also be used to defend Tim Burke. Kohlert hasn't done a lot either though, none of the receivers on this team have. The big difference between Kohlert and Etienne is that Kohlert got into more games and had more passes thrown to him. I like him but just how good is he? A few catches here or there don't prove a hell of a lot and that's something that can be said for every receiver on the team. Kohl et has been money on the majority of passes thrown his way wether they were under thrown, over thrown, in heavy traffic etc. he's the one guy that seems to make clutch catches or big receptions each week. ettienne isn't even starting
  6. Kohert has been a way better addition the ettienne
  7. Strange. I don't care anymore. And I don't even know what day the game is on. Sad day for me as a fan.
  8. They are working on a deal but Burke is not allowed to know about it since he would tell everyone about it.
  9. Lol. I was happily reading the thread about qbs and then did a wtf out loud.
  10. wtf does this have to do with Qbs?
  11. Ride hall out. Meh can move the offence. Give him time to stop throwing interceptions.. The qb carousel remind me of mike Kelly. Time for bishop to come back?
  12. Exactly.. And MACK was responsible for selecting them all on his own.
  13. no.. Elliot would have suffered behind our horrible O-line and shitty "expanded for cfl" nfl/ncaa playbook equally.. Or thrown as many picks trying to do too much like the rest of these QBs.
  14. When the offence looks like it might turn the corner, nope.. back in the tube..
  15. The whole building for the future mantra is super annoying to me. We have been building for the future for the last 4 years by getting younger players with "potential" and we are getting progressively worse. We need to build for being a good team now and next season. Once u fix the current problems and field a competitive team each week then we can start building for the future. With a weak base / foundation u can't build on it for the long term. Mack was trying to bring in young talented guys and missed the boat by taking flyers on veterans or cfl experience players that could make an immediate improvement to our team and seemingly decide to wait for the green player to turn into all stars and lead the team to greatness. Hopefully this is all changing now with Walters and whoever is hired to replace Mack and Burke. They have focus solely on making this team competitive immediately and address the weakest links like the oline and coaching and once progress is made start addressing longer term/future depth with younger players. Then and only then can they groom players to take over when starters start the down side of their careers. Free agents are going to flow towards the teams willing to play them more and if we hire experienced cfl coaches and management then our gong show going on this year will be a secondary thought for free agents.
  16. But why would u want someone to be a coach if they have no drive to do so? He could tank the teams he is coaching and force their hand
  17. Burke is way out of his league. Admittedly i thinks its fairly obvious we don't have the talent to be the best team in the league, but with essentially the same players Lapo had alot better success. Part of Me thinks that Mack Handcuffed Burke by forcing who starts at QB and ignoring the issues with the O-line. But Burke's in game decisions have lead to a few losses as well as calling out players and then retracting it later shows, to me atleast, that is is not the HC this team needs. We need a HC with experience and the ability to deal with adversity as well as the ability to recongnize what isn't working and fix it. We Need a HC that can allow the players they do have to accel and create and enviroment in which they can grow and reach their potential. Burke hasn't shown us any of this so far.
  18. Might have shared the same wish list, but was not willing to pay the price, or anything really, to get those wish list players. Other gms are willing to pay up.
  19. No question we need a Hc that plays to win. Not take a knee to go into ot and lose. I rather lose going for the win instead wussing out... Like always
  20. and Kakert agrees that brakenridge shouldn't have been fined? WTF? looked like helmet to helmet to me http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/story/?id=432345
  21. I didn't read it that way mike.. I read it as he wanted to go to the team where he had the best chance of starting.. When they released Jyles leaving Nichols and Backup Joseph it was really a 2 person race for the starting gig. Vs him being the 5th QB.. That and the offence looked horrible in winnipeg for 3 plus years with different OCs and HCs. Not sure QB is the main reason we suck so bad.. Its a good part of the reason, but the Schemes and weak oline pass rush blocking has caused a great deal of our issues.
