Roster Cut Discussion
What did he say about Dell?? They asked him if Dell was in future plans (i.e. PR) at all and he said no and then said they basically didn't manage things properly and brought him in too close to cutdown day to even give him a chance. Seems weird. So why not give him a chance on the PR?

30 year olds probably don't want PR spots. Didn't realize he was that old. Makes sense then.

Roster Cut Discussion
The most exciting part in all of this is that the current staff determined that the 3 QBs they brought in here during the offseason are better than our starting QB last year. Hope that's actually the case.

That's a surprise to me. Thought Jaymar Johnson showed enough to be given a PR spot.

Roster Cut Discussion
These end up training camp cuts always come with a boatload of questions. Who among those aren't cut are hurt and will be cut when they're healthy? Who among the injured will be on the roster when they're healthy, and who will be released because of that? Which cuts are going on the PR? etc. etc. There are a couple conclusions we can draw right now, but most likely we are going to have to wait until Sunday before we can make the rest.

I would imagine he'll be one of the PR players. You can't expect a guy to show up last minute and be put right into the lineup. He has to learn first.

Roster Cut Discussion
You have to remember that just because someone did not make the team as a starter for week 1 doesn't mean that they can't be a starter down the line. It is kind of nice to think that at the very least we have guys that are capable starters for week 1 and we will have guys on the practice roster pushing them. I don't think that's a fail in scouting at all. That's how most teams work.

Not necessarily. Some people will be put on the IR.

QB Kolton Browning
Weird timing on this for sure.

Practice Reports
Some people are saying that is a failure on recruiting…what if it's success by Kelly? The Bombers last successful days, Jamie Stoddard was a mainstay at 5th WR. A sticky hands guy without much flash that just caught whatever was thrown to him as a 5th receiver. Why not Kelly? Queue the Stoddard love You called? You must be so conflicted. Haha.

[Merged] 2014 Predictions / Standing Forecast
I have a feeling Edmonton may be better than people think this year

17to85: I like how you bolded everything except for the part in brackets at the end of my sentence and chose to ignore it for argument sake. Wow

Some people are saying that is a failure on recruiting…what if it's success by Kelly? Kelly gets way too much flack here (beating a dead horse), being a guy that came in midway through the season last year and looked pretty decent (in bursts, of course). I say let the chips fall where they may. He will likely be the starting WR come the first game of the season. What I like about this management team is that they are constantly looking to get better, and that is for every position.

Nobody has outplayed Aaron Kelly at the wideout position yet.

BOMBERS PRACTICE POST PRESEASON
Honestly I feel like Woods has been one missed block away from a couple of catchable balls getting to him. I still have high hopes for him.

Paris Cotton has made the final roster?
Did you want Cotton to personally come to your house and punch you in the mouth so you could say "WOW!"? Cause he pretty much did everything else perfect in two pre-season games. 11 carries for 97 yards long of 26. Probably the best RB screen pass we've executed in years against Calgary. What did you want to see? The ol' 60 yards untouched into the endzone play.

Paris Cotton has made the final roster?
Insert some random comment about small players not being able to take hits and needing Messam since he's big and fat etc.... Insert picture of that fat QB that made the NFL.

Paris Cotton has made the final roster?
Fast, strong, has great moves, and can catch out of the backfield. I think he'll be a good one.

Bombers cut 4 players
Agreed. The guy was about as good of a kicker that we've had here in a while. Lirim Hajikoolaid has shown to be pretty damn good and is a National to boot.
-
CFL cuts
Probably a lot of truth to that. Lirim Hooftothetwo has a pretty good and accurate leg, and did not look to be much behind Maher.
-
CFL cuts
Absolutely. If he has any kind of game left and can play ST he'd be an upgrade over Volny.

Bombers cut 4 players
Yeah it's a little weird to think that Kenny Tate was supposed to be that ultimate "Gary Etcheverry" type player, but ended up being cut pretty early.

Bombers cut 4 players
IMO none of these cuts are really surprises. What did Kenny Tate do at all? He was given so many chances to make an impact. Errol Brooks just doesn't have enough size or skill and I feel like we may DI Paris Cotton (looks like he's a good returner and RB). My question is how they feel about Urutia, being that he has been given the same amount of chances as Kenny Tate to make an impact, and hasn't either.

Bombers cut 4 players
For 3-4 positions...not too bad. Considering Goosen and Morley were doing good jobs snapping the ball, it was pretty easy to conclude Chris Kowalczuk was going to be cut.
