Mark H. reacted to Mr Dee in Training camp report June 12
All I know about Max Hall is, he's the only one who came in last year, and he managed to run a patched up O system and be able to move the ball with any kind of effiency.
He actually made decisions and got us first downs and points, while seemingly working with eraser-set Q cards.
He gets a long look, in my books.

a preseason game where 2 of the Bomber standouts were QBs... even with other areas of concern, you guys have got to be happy with that.

IMO, Durie is the most underrated Canadian in the CFL.

I would like to thank all the posters who 'self-moderate.' That's really what it takes to make a fan site work.

Those salary increases are a slap in the face to the players.

Mark H. reacted to Logan007 in CFL fines Mo Price
See, now what you just said can be taken as ignorant and hateful. Why is it ok for you to say that about the bible, something billions of people believe in and feel is sacred to them, but it's not ok for Price to say what he did?
FYI I have gay friends too, but I find it funny that people get so freaked out when someone says anything against homosexuality, but it's ok to go around blasting people's religions and spiritual beliefs.

Trouble is the bible is full of contradictions which is why any reasonable Christian will remember one simple thing about their religion... they are followers of Christs teachings so if there's a contradiction in the Bible then the default question should be what would Jesus do? The answer to that of course is to love everyone and judge no one.

Mark H. got a reaction from Goalie in Phaneuf to Jets?
He is what he is - a decent player who still gets overrated by media pundits. Could be a top 3 D man on many teams - but don't ask him to be a leader.
Great shot, can hit like a truck, is a liability in his own zone at times, not the best puck distributor on the PP

Mark H. got a reaction from The Unknown Poster in [MOVED] Lyle Bauer back in Manitoba - Politics, not football
It wasn't realistically possible to live off the land during that era - centuries of unsustainable fur trade had severely reduced everything except perhaps the fish. In fact, some populations (beaver and white tail deer) are more plentiful today than they were in the 19th century.
The reserve system was put into place with the promise that the natives would be taught how to farm - but they weren't. Not only were they not properly taught, they were not given the proper implements. Thus the system of handouts began...
Macdonald thought he could 'starve them out.' When that didn't work, they tried residential schools to assimilate them.
It was a mess in the 19th century and it's still a mess today. The reserves and the treaties never made any sense whatsoever. The intentions of the government that created them were unethical at best.

I never said anything about sympathy. As far as I'm concerned it is wrong to belittle someone's disability. Would you like it if people downplayed what you've gone through and made jokes about it as if it was nothing. You want to criticize Chretien's policies, personality or tactics - have at it but joking about his disability is wrong.

Mark H. got a reaction from Shanks in Kevin Glenn has requested a trade
Which scenario would most fans prefer? Drew Willy at 4 - 12 or Kevin Glenn at 9 - 9?
Let's face it, Glenn would make this team better. He has a quick release and runs a good short yardage game, which fits well with a subpar OL.
If Willy is the better QB, he'll play. I dare say Walters knows they can't afford another season of QB development.
