    Here is the MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT:

Brings back the nightmare of when he was president.

    1. See a news item.
    2. Not sure if it is real or a parody
    3. Go look it up
    4. Turns out it is real
    5. Not sure if I should be surprised or not

BTW:  For anyone who was interested in buying one for the cheap prices of $99.  You don't even get a card.  You are buying a "digital card".

The pressure of the DOJ investigations appears to be getting to Trump, as he is now under the impression that he is a superhero.

Yes, an ex-president posted a picture of himself as some sort of grifting Superman whose superpower appears to be financial fraud. On top of it all, Trump has lasers coming out of his eyes.

    Why lasers? Who knows.

The image above is part of a video that will not be embedded here because doing so would give Trump’s failing social media platform attention, but the video is even crazier than the image above.

Trump’s presidential campaign 3.0 has been a disaster. He is not campaigning. He has no campaign staff. In fact, there doesn’t appear to be an actual presidential campaign.

Donald Trump has fooled the media into covering him for years with promises of a major announcement. Unless the announcement is that he is turning over all of the classified documents that he stole from the United States government, Trump has nothing newsworthy to say.

Trump has gone from running the Republican Party to overseeing a cult that specializes in propaganda that would make the regime in North Korea blush.

The DOJ poses the biggest threat of criminal prosecution that Trump has faced in his life, and so far, he is not showing signs of mentally holding up well.

I think I’m between the two comments here. On the one hand absolutely no matter what party, no matter what platform and ideology, lead with grace, humility, integrity and honesty. On the other hand, I find the argument everyone’s bad not productive. It feels like a what about argument deflecting away from the seriousness of the behaviour and at times deflecting to something that is no where near the seriousness of the original behaviour being discussed.

I don't think excuses should be made for bad behaviour.   It should be called out, and the fact "everyone is bad" shouldn't be an excuse.

We also shouldn't lower our expectations because one party is worse or not criticize a party because they aren't "as bad".  In the long term, a party who isn't subject to criticism and forced to answer questions on how they behave and their platform will regress and become something worse.

Nah.  This is the same kind of generalization as "they're all crooks" which further leads to voter apathy.

I don't think it is a bad thing to aspire to have the leaders of our country to be more than simply "they are better than what is on the right".

I would like to see leadership in any party that can inspire the population and build trust across historical party lines.   A foolish dream?   Perhaps.  But this country is starting to become more and more divided.  And something needs to be done to start uniting the population or we will cease to be a country.

    Quote

One of the richest and most powerful men in Brazil, Thane Chiquinho Scarpa, made waves when he announced plans to bury his million-dollar Bentley so he could drive around the afterlife in style. He received lots of media attention and was criticized for the extravagant gesture. Why wouldn’t he donate the car to charity? How out of touch with reality is this guy? He still went ahead with the ceremony.

But, there’s a twist. (Of course there is. Why else would we be covering this story?)

Moments before lowering the car in the ground he revealed his genuine motive: To create awareness for organ donation.

“People condemn me because I wanted to bury a million dollar Bentley, in fact most people bury something a lot more valuable than my car,” Scarpa said during a speech at the ceremony. “They bury hearts, livers, lungs, eyes, kidneys. This is absurd. So many people waiting for a transplant and you will bury your healthy organs that will save so many lives.”

You’re arguing about contract terms for weeks but lack a fundamental understanding of what an option is.  An option doesn’t obligate the team to do anything.  The contract terms only hold if the team chooses to pick up the option.  If they don’t the third year of the contract doesn’t exist.

So yeah, BC could be jerks to Rourke and pick up the option to force him to play for cheap next year if he doesn’t make the NFL.  But how do you think that would play out for them in the long-term?

This is the 3rd post in the thread.

I meant to type poster, not poser. However, if you see yourself as a poser, you are a poser.

It's in black and white in the CBA. What more proof do you want? You're the one saying that BC can ignore the CBA. Where's your proof?

This is just one of your problems. You think that something is true even after you're shown, in black and white, in a contract, that it's not. It's kinda sad that you go to personal attacks, cuz you ain't got nothing else, but it's your MO.

I know what an option is & it's specifically defined in the CBA for CFL draft picks. The definition of option that's in the section of the contract that pertains to remuneration for draft picks is the definition of option used for draft picks. If the option wasn't specifically defined in the draft picks remuneration section, then you'd be right, but in this case you're not.

It wouldn't be BC forcing Rourke to play for cheap. It would be the CBA and the CFL.

Do you have a source that teams can ignore the option terms written into the CBA? It's not ambiguous because it's written into the CBA in the draft pick remuneration section.

RIDERFANS as source after taking shots about using twitter as a source? BTW: Twitter was a good enough source for you to agree that you had read that BC had asked the league for an exception for Rourke's contract.

    _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Rourke will take his NFL shot. Why wouldn't he? He won't be back in the CFL next year. Why would he come back to a draft pick first contract situation?

Rourke will be a FA if he comes back after next year and will get multiple offers.

Would the CFL exempt Rourke from the CBA first draft contract? I'd hope so, but they didn't do that this year. Maybe because they don't want to open the door for all draft picks to ignore the option year of their contracts and ask for an exemption?

I think that they should add "Except For QB's" in the CBA so Canadian QB's could get paid the same as US QB's. I also think they should be designated as Canadian's no matter if they are backups or starters. The idea that they are sometimes Canadians is dumb IMO.

This is your reply to that exact post.

Congrats! You just got to the same place as me, from the other perspective.

Exercise the option to keep Rourke = Stay within the CBA salary structure.

To you finally saying the same thing.   Pertinent parts bolded.

6 pages of you arguing nonsense only to finally agree with what everyone has been saying from the start.  Unfucking believable.

Can't find it now but I remember a photo of an awesome whiteboard in the Bomber dressing room with a game day weather forecast written on it.

    it went something like:

    Winds: 50km/h
    Snow: 30cm
    Temperature: -10 C
    Forecast: WE DON'T CARE

wish I could find that.  searched on twitter but no love, Musk probably broke their search.

wind really helped us too. I think the TiCats win that game if they had a punter who could punt into the wind even a little bit.  Those repeated nine yard punts he gave us were basically turnovers..

There is obviously an exit out of the stadium. And, again, the event ends before the Bomber game starts.

I think all you really had to do was prioritize the parking away from one area for any super early arrivals who plan to tailgate.

People park in assigned lots and tailgate in those.   You can't really just have them all in one lot.

  10. 1 hour ago, Jesse said:

I don’t think anyone expected them to move the game, but making sure a lot was open - instructing the parking officials that another event was ending and there needed to be an available exit.

The event is ending before the game - they likely didn’t need to do much, just offer assurances that there would be unobstructed exits.

There is already limited ways in and out of stadium.   How can you guarantee unobstructed exits when you are expecting a sellout.

Edit:  I’ll also add the Bombers have hired consultants in the past to optimize the flows in and out.   You can just change a small area without affecting the rest.
