    Prukop  has never shown anything

Yes he has. He's shown that he can consistently get the yardage required when called upon, which is usually a yard or so.

If you're saying that Pigrome is a better QB at "real QB play", maybe, but that's entirely irrelevant. Third string QB's job on an O'Shea team has one job and one job only: dive and get a first down/TD. Maybe occasionally make a QB throw or other athletic play. Prukop has shown he has that ability in spades.

To be clear, we are in a win-now mentality. Go for the sure-thing. We are not developing the future at this position. It's the same logic as cutting Legghio for Sergio.

This is coming from someone who's actually pretty m'eh on this move, but the defensiveness shown for a QB who showed well in pre-season vying for a position we are not developing is perplexing.

Enough so that we don't average 30+ points a game against us... I dont feel that is too much to ask...

Actually, I think that is too much to ask.

With injuries putting out a skeleton crew in the secondary and nullifying our DL rotation, something's gotta give. Throw in the intangible of the fact that the entire team decided to completely **** the bed and that's what you get.

If our offense wasn't so bad last week, the game would have played out differently as well.

When we played the Riders and gave them 27 points and 6 million yards of offense, I was ok with that because that's a Richie Hall defense compromised with injuries and leading to more points than we'd normally give up

Was a bad...out of sync off game all around....a smattering of poor play calling and scheme and a splash of poor roster make-up garnished with some injury issues...which are compounded by said poor roster makeup

I see once Lawson and Jeffcoat back...More Fox....Less Walker....more growth from Haba, Hansen back taking reps, and the ability to put an import elsewhere in place of Jackson (dline or DB) when Miller is back, a lot of the defensive issues may become non issues, especially if/when Wilson is back and back to old self....even tho in my opinion Clements has been least of the issues

Also...Parker back will be huge....Rose back will be huge...if he is finally 100 %...and the insertion of Muhamed as well will solidify things....Eliminating Schmeckle and Bennet right out of the mix, and majorly down sizing Fatboi's reps....we be golden

Not concerned about the offence at all....was an anomaly and not the norm

I'm excited for Parker but Holm was just awesome last night I thought. It's the corners where we need help. Would love to have Rose and Houston on the field at the same time.

Agree about the DL comments though. We need more of both serviceable (don't have to be superstar) DTs and DEs just so we can get back to rotation and keep pressure high on every play with fresh legs.

  4. I actually have a lot of thoughts and WTFs about this game (including not one but several of the Schoen targets) but after I outlined a whole post, I realized that the entire team just inexplicably sucked and it's not worth my time to write out. This wasn't a case of "if these few things were just executed properly it would have been way different". We completely didn't show up and BC completely did. Wow, been ages since we looked like the pre-August '16 Bombers and maybe we all have so much PTSD that it hurts way more to watch that. This is purely a case of flush and move on.

I dunno, but VAJ led that epic comeback against us in 2019 when he played with Montreal.  We also traded Chris Matthews to Montreal just before that game.  That was tough to watch.   I wouldn't call VAJ elite level, but he can be very streaky.

Regardless, hoping for a big W tonight to move to 3-0 and on top of the West where we belong.

He's not a bad QB by any means and he will burn us once or twice for sure........but that's kinda it, I think.

  6. I'm very unimpressed with BC this year and have never been a believer in VAJ. Maybe I'm off base and "they'll show us" or we have an off game in one or more phases, but I fully expect a resounding win for the home team. TBH I'm not even really nervous or anything. If everyone comes to play, we win in dominant fashion. We can't beat ourselves, though. BC sucks.

Bighill will be chowing down on VAJ all night. Plow through a crease and go after it.

Sports are a funny thing. You would think after two championships in a row, a fan (me) would be satisfied and be able to look at the prospect of losing more pragmatically. Wrong. It's amazing how winning never gets old.

Same. If we don’t win our unthinkable third in a row, I will be so disappointed lol. Got greedy these days.

but my attitude stems from the fact that if we lost, “we beat ourselves” because we are undoubtedly the best team in the league.

Ugh, I cringe every time I think of those T-shirts with "swag bombs" On them... seriously WTF- that **** needed to be to passed on to QC for taste and wit, and fail on both accounts.

I proudly wore my Swaggerville shirt every week that year.

It was a very fun year - an oasis in a dessert of horrible years. It was flanked by Doug Berry's unceremonial ousting after a terribly diappointing 2008, the Mike Kelly fiasco of 2009, and the 4-14 Lapo/Mack rookie campaign, and was followed up by an even more disappointing 2012 that saw Lapo unceremoniously shown the door, the most disastrous year in Bomber history that I know of (to christen a new stadium, to boot) in Burke's 2013 year, and O'Shea's extremely forgettable first two years here with Drew Willy and no stinkin' playoffs.

I don't understand the flack that the 2011 group got for bringing a little fun to what was otherwise a very dark cloud over the franchise. These years encompassed most of my fandom, too.

Hard to say. It does make me wonder if there's more to story and if perhaps the injury he sustained influenced his decision to move on from football (he's missed a fair amount of time due to injuries), and not just whatever role change he was being asked to take on.

And FWIW, he did play 24 games as a Bomber, one more than his 23 he did as a Lion.

Good to know. Thought he was a Lion for a really long time but I guess not.

An extra game with and a ring with us = retire a Bomber.

Gaitor busted his ass for this team and was very good at SAM... nice to see him go out on top

I agree. Certainly the we he faded away was not amicable nor gracious but, like all other players on this team, whether you we a superstar or played bits and pieces of the season, you made a contribution to the team that ultimately was good enough to be the best. That deserves the accolades.

Best back? He's not even a great back anymore. His NFL days are done, I think. He may get a chance with another CFL team.

Yes folks, I couldn't have been kidding more lol.

I'm an extremely sarcastic person and i give no indication of my implications when writing online- my problem haha.

Anyway, I was taking a dig at Wilder for wanting high end CFL money a few years ago thinking he was some superstar who would eventually get onto an NFL roster. 400 yards in a season in the CFL ain't gonna get you there.

  12. Offense:
QB Collaros - I think he's gone to TO regardless
QB Streveler - Want him back big time in the same role
QB Nichols -  Probably will be our QB1 next year IMO.
    OL Bryant - NEED.
OL Hardrick - Very likely will be back
OL Neufeld* - Love the guy but there's only so much money to go around. I think he goes home to Sask to finish his career. He got his ring. Also, we have a bursting pipeline of young Canadian OL
OL Couture* - Very likely will be our starting C again, unless brass thinks Eli is ready to be the guy (but I think likely not yet)
RB Augustine* -  If Oliveira is back to full health, Johnny goes on to other opportunities where he deservedly gets a bigger role (hard to become the guy when you play on an Andrew Harris team)
WR Adams - I'm sure we make him a fair offer and he stays. Gets to be the #1 receiver here.
WR Wolitarsky* - Stays with his buddy Strev but if he does go, we have Petermann as another Canadian rec and we can shuffle the core around to give him the role that best suits his abilities

    Defense
DE Jefferson - I think he stays and wins multiple championships with us
DE Roh  - most certainly walks. Thanks for everything though, Craig. Enjoyed the smackdown you laid on Manzeil.
DT Nevis - tough one. I think he stays but wouldn't be surprised to see him go if another team makes him a big offer. Last year he went to FA to check his market value and signed here again.
DT Thomas* - Back for sure to continue his streak.
    LB Thomas - ?
    LB Jones - ?
    DB Rose - MUST.
    DB Sayles - MUST.
DB Maston -  I think he's our SAM of the future
DB Taylor - 50/50. I like him but depends on the $$ sitch
    DB Fenner - gone
DB Hecht* - might re-sign and just be an ST demon/serviceable fill-in at safety. I think it depends if he thinks he can get the chance at a bigger role elsewhere or not
DB D.Jones* - see above, although more likely to stay than Hecht.
DB Gaitor (I think he should be in the list) - Gonezo.

  13. We should have Darian Durant Day the next time we play the Riders at IGF (East) in a non-Banjo Bowl game. We can unveil a banner on the concourse in in the tailgate area and fans can thank DD for his help in securing the 107th Grey Cup for the Blue and Gold.

EDIT: Darian Durant urinal cakes in the men's room at IGF-East? Although that wouldn't be fair to the ladies who also deserve a chance to express their feelings toward DD. We are striving for an equitable society here, folks.

Dont agree. Im sure he will try and get a deal, but I dont see any NFL team wanting him after the year he just had.

I could see him in BC, with lapo.
