Have seen a few things mentioning that Ian Wild might be the new MACK....very interesting to see that we'd go all-Import along there...

There are powerful reasons to go all import LBs this year. Their names are - Tony Burnett,  Kyle Knox, Khalil Bass, Ian Wild, and Moe Leggett. Then there are the newbies - Duron Singleton, Durrell Johnson and Justin Cole.

But then there is an equal argument to slot one spot for the National crop of players we have available- with Hurl and the depth behind him in Jesse Briggs, Teague Sherman, Garrett Waggoner, draft picks Shayne Gauthier and Frank Renaud, and John Rush, last year’s Presidents’ Trophy as the top defender in Canadian college ball.

Linebackers...the secondary...the D-line...shaping up nicely. The problem will be who to keep, and how/where to keep them.

Hall finally has a front four that suit his defence...  clog up the line and let the DBs speed do the rest

Yes to Wild at MAC, no to Harris at S...

Perhaps too soon for many's liking, but I suggest that the Bombers D line and LB core will dominate this season! Add our already solid D backfield and when the O catches up, this team will be tough to deal with ...

Let's just see if OSh goes 'all in' on Hurl first...

Well, Ed Tait was there...

Making positive first impressions were:

DE Trent Corney: the club’s first pick in the 2016 CFL Draft got to the ball quickly and was dominant in the first one-on-one drills with the O-line. Yes, it’s early, but…

RB Tim Flanders: the late addition flashed some speed during the session. Question is, how might the club find room for him or any import back with Andrew Harris expected to start?

QB Brian Bennett: the veteran pivots stepped aside to let Bennett and Dominique Davis take most of the reps. Bennett showcased a strong arm.

WR Jace Davis: Polished route runner with good wheels.

Here's mine...

Our media are morons. It rained.

I'll say this... unless one of the forum members were there... I doubt since it poured.... I'd refer folks to Mike O'shea and the interviews on the bomber site and twitter

hey the looking at their phones none stop and talking to each other is important stuff.

Disappointing report from Tait...  Osh mentioned some picks in his recap but no names, which QB threw them, etc...

Couture mentioned he was playing at RG... that's more insight than any of the Wpg media ha

Disappointing?

Since when have we had a report..of any kind..on the 1st day of rookie camp?

Tait featured Carlos Anderson, reported a new RB in camp, mentioned standouts, told us about the two Rifle players, and stated MOS's mission for this camp.

He's a pro. If you want juice, look to the Riders forum.

You know how we hear about how guys want to play for O'Shea:

Quote

A torn ACL and meniscus ended [Carlos Anderson's] shot with the Bombers and, it seemed at the time, the door on a career in professional football.

But, just as he has done for most of his football days, Anderson persevered. And there he was back on the field for the first day of Bomber rookie camp on Wednesday absolutely killing it again on his now third chance.

“Long offseason, long rehab, but it feels great,” Anderson told a group of reporters after practice. “It feels great to be back with the team and just moving around.”

Anderson’s return ability had him in the discussion for a roster spot a year ago as a specialist who could offer a change-of-pace look out of the backfield.

And then…

“I went to try and make a cut and the ACL and meniscus tore. Things happen,” Anderson said with a shrug. “God works in mysterious ways. I’m forever indebted to Coach O’Shea for giving me another shot because he didn’t have to. But he called me back up and I came back and I’ll try and give it my all again.”

I was at practice today but I'm absolutely terrible at reporting this stuff. For what it's worth:

- Solomon Patton made an excellent long catch and took it to the house. But equally impressive was the throw: it was right on the money into tight coverage. Didn't catch the QB but it was one of the back-ups, either Bennett or Davis.

- Corney is aggressive and fast. He'll have to learn how not to go off-side but he's looking good.

-Alex Vitt made a couple of very nice sideline catches in the one on ones. Feoli Guidino may have some competition here.

was there & it was a great feeling to watch the goings on........ soooooo much activity.
Before I forget ..... hope they get a DB coach, as Hall was so involved (by himself) with the DBs, & appeared to have little time to watch the other D players work out

Impressed by the size of DL & OL ........ the 1 on 1 battles were serious & the pads & helmets were clashing big time during the possession plays.
Felt #58 Walker, #60 Bond (OH WOW), #62 Martin & #68 Foketi held there own & most times dominated, protected & made openings for the RBs

#89 Talley is a possible starter, #92 Butcher was very competitive, #16 Loffler worked at safety, #77 Vitt made 2 great catches in super coverage, #43 Corney hustles always.
#19 J. Green, #29 Posey stood out to me at DB, while I'm cheering for DL #90 Dieke to find a spot in Blue & QB #18 Bennett had a good day, IMO.
Our 2 Int. RBs, #34 Anderson & #32 Flanders were very quick & had good hands on all passes to them.

My MEH's were Willy at times, #84 Cone was not sharp, #48 Bryant a tall DB, & noted #99 Scott looking starved for breath on the sidelines, most times.
Star of the Day ....... #77 Vitt.

Yes #50 Knox was there & he works like a real Pro.

Both of these guys now have new jobs. I was planning to go to the practices with a decent camera.  I would appreciate if someone would do me a favour and tell me how to post pictures.

You need to upload your picture to an external site that hosts images.

There are lots out there that don't even require you to register an account.  http://postimage.org is one.

After you upload it, they will give you a bunch of links for it.  Copy the URL for the direct link (should end in the picture extension like .jpg or .png)

Then paste that link into your post and the site should automatically embed it for you.
