Take out Sterns, play one less American on D, drop Ayers or the returner….all things that happen before the OL changes. Just had 450 yards of offense with basically one half of Streveler in rhythm (never affected by rush on a drop back) and all but one drive with a guy who was playing against the Bisons 8 months ago at tailback. We can live without edge rush. OL is priority 1000%. Mark H., Noeller, johnzo and 7 others 8 1 1

Benefits the running game as well, which is the driver of the Bomber offence, with 3 strong RB's on tap they're going to march at will and be virtually unstoppable, should be well over 100 yds. every game. Yeah they were damn good...small sample size but if 3..4 games in they are much the same it be tough pulling those dudes apart 6 hours ago, sweep the leg said: I’m not changing the ol we saw tonight (unless Cooley is in for Oliviera). Bigblue204 Posted 18 hours ago Report Posted 18 hours ago (edited) Was at the game. Didn't notice anything that would indicate Brady was hurt. So hopefully it's not too serious. Strev doesn't have that burst anymore it would appear. But he seems to be able to read the defense a lot better. He played really well. Wasn't perfect, but as good as we could have hoped for imo. Peterson!!! Damn. I dont know why but I was under the impression he was a global player. Where did he come from? Thought the O play calling was solid. Looking forward to how it develops over the year. Like Booch said, Viva Vaval!!! That guy has burst and doesn't appear to be afraid to run down field. Defense was fantastic all night. Some BS penalties cost them early. And im not sure how that long TD wasnt at minimum accidental PI. If a defender accidentally makes contact on a WR knocking him down, that's PI on defense. Have no idea why it wouldn't be the same when reversed. I haven't been his biggest fan, but outside of 1 or 2 punts. Sheehan was solid. Almost pinned them at the 1 but otherwise was keeping them to the sideline. Buck seems like a nice guy, but I wasnt a huge fan of his playing and his work as OC got worse and worse. Showed nothing that impressed me last night. 1 or 2 plays that had a BC wr open, otherwise Bomber Defenders were smothering wrs all night. Peterson was a Ti Cat draft pick this year but somehow he ended up here, thankfully. McInnis & Hatcher are elite receivers. They're going to make catches that other receivers won't so no surprise that they had a couple of big catches even though for the most part we bottled up the BC passing attack. I will admit..Punter guy was decent and didnt hurt us...had 1 god awful but erarned his spot till next week anyway Strev will get his running back....He really didnt take off and on the draw play if KOLO made his block and maintained it he had at least 10 yards minimum there. Speaking from experience take a while to get back to where you were that first yr back..part mental...part is it just takes time once fully healed So glad Buck is gone....we needed new blood and ideas and ability to adapt and utilize skill sets...Jackson and Hogan are gonna be a huge difference maker for us All in all...first real game with all the starters....and an exy=tended camp basically with that bye week...that was a pretty damn good showing and very encouraging with the new faces...long lay off from real bullets...I think the other teams took notice and said "ohshit" I expect some tweaks yet...some shuffling of guys to fine tune but like what I saw....saw more intensity and hunger in this group than we saw last yr 3 minutes ago, do or die said: Bomber D gave up 20 points......and played better than that... Matthew Peterson hails from the foreign land of Brooks, Alberta. What an incredible game! If he was looking this poised in camp, I can see why we felt comfortable rolling with him as our backup RB instead of rostering Cooley. I love how understated he was even in celebrating his first career TD on the sideline. Locked in. Bigblue204 1

HardCoreBlue Posted 16 hours ago Report Posted 16 hours ago Betts was in Strev's ear all game. I'm pretty sure I heard the mic pick up Strev saying to Betts "Do you know who I am, I don't eat that ****!'. lol. K-Shack 1
Colin Unger Posted 16 hours ago Report Posted 16 hours ago Despite all the offseason losses of star players Ive had the feeling for a long time now that we were going to be a better team this year from last. We have a lot more depth than we had last season. Last year there were very few second year guys who who really in a position to help the team if memory serves me correctly and as a result we had to go with a lot of first year players. 2nd year players are the best value you can get as a CFL team. Rookie salary in an experienced player. We have made up some of our biggest losses by changing the ratio and the early returns are stellar. I'm no longer worried about losing Ford's turnover creating ability at short side corner. Bridges already has two picks and he's doing this on a rookie contract. I also think that left guard we have is a massive upgrade of Dobsen and again on a rookie salary. Wheatfall is on a rookie deal too and will quite likely produce more yards than Lawler did last year or the year before. Vaval to me looks like legit returner I wonder what if any role Logan will have when healthy. They can just keep him on the injury list reducing our cap hit and wait until we need him. Streveler looks like a legit backup qb. I just love how the new OC let him run the offence and he played against his old OC who never let him do that and beat him throwing touchdown passes while the highest paid primadona qb in the league couldn't get it done vs us under Buck's tutelage. Clearly Streveler is not himself yet with that brace and that made it a necessity for him to run the offence. I really wonder if the plan for him this season is to focus on knowing how to run the offence and to be backup. Just speculation but I think maybe they won't want him as the short yardage qb pushing off on that leg. The real question I have is if BO is out next week where does that leave our ratio? Peterson made a strong case to leave the ratio as it is. I hope we find a way to get Cooley on the roster and use a combination of the tight end set to get him on the field replacing Sterns with a canadian tight end and also use the designated american rule to give him a bunch of additional snaps and use a two back system. Thoughts? Bomberguy and K-Shack 2
