Wasn't all Matt but not a very good performance.....Hall has to be replaced and pronto....Should have been done last year...Our secondary has more holes than swiss cheese with leaks everywhere...Pitiful

QB controversy currently house hunting in WPG

Yeah, Nichols with another bad effort. 2018 hasn't been kind to him. But let's not pretend he's our #1 problem.

At this point I'm on board with giving Streveler a shot and seeing what he can do, and seeing if this is a QB or a OC/head coach problem. I know where I'd put my money but I won't die on a hill for any qb

Matt Nichols is a shell of his 2017 self (for no real reason).

He simply just sucks.

It's clear that you can see the energy Streveler brings to the whole team when he plays......

Nichols is definitely not the same quarterback we've seen the last 2 seasons, he no longer gives us the best (any) chance to win. 

Nichols was struggling for many games in the second half of last season.  It's been over a year of average to below-average QB play.  I suspect his days as a good quarterback are over.  Lapo getting as much as he did out of Nichols in 2016/17 is a testament to his play-calling.

The ol played alot worse today then normal. The value bond and hardrick brought previously is being quantified. get well soon hardrick.

I mean, think about it, he was putting Nichols in 2nd and long with his conservative play calling and predictable runs on 1st down.  If you do that against the Stamps, they'll just throw the kitchen sink at you every time.

Ffs how bout mixing in some draws, not waiting till late in the game to go up tempo and get Matt in a rhythm, and what was that garbage screen to Demski resembling what Trestman called last night?

What about this season? What's with all the long pass attempts lately? That **** clearly isn't working, so why do it? Why not go back to what worked in the past?

Nichols needs to be way better in his execution but the play-calling lately has been utter trash.

We hardly ran a lot of the second and long s were after missed passes. Both guys had awful games. The call to fake the short yardage keeper and pass was the only great call for plop.

Why?  Because he is so sensitive?  His play this year warrants being pulled and if he can't handle it he is not mentally tough.  

We have probably already seen the best of Nichols thanks to a dominant O-line in 2016-17.

I saw a ton of run plays on first and no play action today.  No fake end arounds or nothing to try and fake the defense out.

Trust me, Lapolice was putting Nichols in bad situations.

He hasn't been the same since his ring-finger injury that he played through. The injury at the start of this year certainly did not help.

I thought not enough of those were called today.  Just a bunch of little dump offs that the Stamps jumped all over.

When your running back rushes for less than 17 yards play action is pretty useless.

O-line is not as good and Nichols has zero escapability.  The poor passes are mostly on Nichols, not Lapo....never had a great long ball but it is worse this year.  Nichols has options on every play...it's not a set play to throw the ball 5 or 6 yards when the team needs 9.  He has options out there beyond the first down marker, but he either doesn't want to make those passes or he is incapable of it.
