Around the League - Regular Season Discussion (Redux)

Training camp is over .... adjustments have been made  and its time for the opening kickoff

Anybody change their minds on how preseason changed their expectations for this year .... Montreal thrashing Ottawa changed mine .... cutting Willy raise my hopes for the Argos .... Edmonton looks stronger than I first thought and Regina even worse

For the first time in years I am forecasting Winnipeg finishes first in the league  .. just an optimistic hunch .... I forecast these final standings:

Winnipeg

Calgary

Vancouver

Edmonton

Ottawa

Montreal

Toronto

Hamilton

Regina

  • Well, there you go.  It seemed to me that it’s been perceived as being stale and the interest level was tapering off. It takes all week to gather, edit and format that topic and I thought I’d giv

Any idea on how many tickets have been sold for Sundays game?

At least 4.  I can't speak for anyone else, but we should be able to get a tally here.

-On one hand, I'd prefer to face the REDBLACKS since they'd only have about 400-600 supporters invade BMO as opposed to the drug-adled several thousand Riders' fans that would show up and I should support the Eastern team by default... but on the other hand I have so many next-level putdowns of the Riders and their lame province that it'd be a shame not to have occasion for them.

-Could be my Double-Blue glasses, but the team coming together after a rebuild late in the season to finish 9-9 with the GC being in Ottawa... dare I say it... feels like 2004

But at the same time, if you double the number of paying customers at BMO, that's a good thing, right?

More than 1 but less than 33,000.

Not enough.

Gotta have 25k+ in order for that place to really be rockin'.......c'mon, Winnipeg, the forecast is GORGEOUS for Sunday...

It's also typical of Winnipegers to wait until the last minute to make their decision... the forecast right now looks good, but it could get worse.  I'm sure there are lots of people waiting for Saturday to see the forecast for the game before making the decision.

Looking forward to it either way... it's always a great day for football when you're in the playoffs :)

The weather forecast calls for a high of football, with a low of football, with 100% chance of football. Winds blowing at football.

Meaningful FOOTBALL in November! Get to the stadium!

I bet there will be 30000 plus when its all said and done.

I'll take that bet. My guess is 24,000.

I am positive that Bomber fans suck at showing up for playoff games. Better? :)

I don't think it'll be that bad, but I'll be very surprised if we hit 30k. Split the difference and that's somewhere in the neighbourhood of where I think (hope) we'll be.

We show up for Division finals, just not semi-finals.

I am always disappointed with Bomber playoff attendance.  Sometimes I think Winnipegers are happier to complain that their teams never win anything.  Or, maybe it is that the crowd who go only to get noticed outside the rum hut don't want to come because it is harder to notice or get noticed when you are dressed for a winter game.

I hope I am wrong this time and we fill the place.

Even if it is only 24,000, it will be the right 24,000 and it will be loud regardless.

It was also an East Final in what was supposed to be, at that time, the last ever game at CanadInns Stadium.

I delivered Lofflers mail today and chatted with him briefly. He was very fired up for the game Sunday he said. Nothing like playoff football to get you going.

I'm the real deal lol.

I predict a crowd of 27,560.

if that many people are there, it'll look decent and sound loud in there...that'll work.....

That's a sexist term. It is "letter carrier"- a non sexist term like "snowperson".

There's literally no reason the place shouldn't be sold out. Supposed to be a high of - 1, mix of sun and cloud, haven't hosted a playoff game since 2011. C'mon people, fill those seats!
