I think there's a second tier of all-time running backs for people like Washington, Mimbs and especially Fred Reid.  Will always be a Fast Freddy fan, he and Terrance Edwards were two guys worth watching on the terrible Bombers of 2009-2010 and his big game against the Lions is one of my top ten favorite bomber games.

I think if Chris Garrett hadn't have torn his Achilles, he would've been a great CFL running back. That dude looked complete to me -- power, speed, and moves.

Chris Garrett was my favourite "post-Charlie" back prior to Harris and now Brady.

Probably based on the NFL study that indicated that was the case.

Maybe it's the CFLPA pushing for the change, cause I can't see any GM's being overly concerned.

Yes, people blaming the media are out to lunch. The league doesn't want to make the game less exciting. They know people react poorly to these types of changes.

Awwww sounds like someone's got a case of the hurt fee fees because 3rd down nation is called what they are... fanboi bloggers play acting at being real media

I think some of us just appreciate the extra content. The only thing more embarrassing than 3down’s terrible takes is forum posters who don’t even have a blog trying to Uncle Rico from the sidelines, “if only I had a blog, I could write way better than them. I just know it!”

Leo Lewis rushing yards per carry season total over his career:

    6.1

    0

    6.8

    7.0

    6.5

    8.4

    7.1

    6.4

    5.2

    7.4

    5.3

    4.1

If he hadnt of split carries with Gerry James for the bulk of his career he may have ran for a million yards. Bud Grant also referred to him as the best football player PERIOD that he ever saw. Leo Lewis 1st, and then everyone else.

Lewis can have 2nd behind Charlie for those reasons. And then everyone else.

Article doesn't lead me to believe they are in debt with $7M in reserves.

    What they are saying is:

    1. They don't know how to restore the season ticket base
    2. They don't know how to restore the standing in the community
    3. Improve infrastructure

Rather then sell, get rid of the board and bring in people who can fix points 1 and 2.  Don't need to sell the club to do that.   For point 3, I find it unlikely a private owner is going to invest a bunch of their own money in infrastructure.

The article also mentions they are looking for someone who would invest in the club more than someone who would pay bigger money for the team.

I'm not talking experienced depth.  I'm talking anything to show from the past two drafts.  It's a total departure from how they've steadily built the OL during this entire regime going on a decade having depth ready to play when they've needed it.

Well, you’re not wrong about that. Our drafts since 2019 have been pretty disappointing.

Hasn't always been.  We literally have nobody in the Eli/Dobson spots from a year ago.  Major gamble that rookie will be able to play right away.  No one in the queue like we've had before to cover off for guys missing most of seasons and limited space to add in terms of $$$.  An issue.

We'll have one of Eli/Dobson and then yeah, probably a rookie as the second depth spot for the three interior positions.

I certainly don't see this as a gamble. You can't expect to have experienced depth on you bench 2 spots deep for multiple years.

Didn’t we employ a guy who tried to drown his wife in a bathtub? Isn’t one of our star players a guy who makes sure he isn’t super thirsty before he drives a car?

We 100% have many of our own examples. I don't think you can legitimately make this argument for anyone employed under the current Bomber management, however.

The fact that the league hasn't said boo word one yet about Kelly and the Argos is classic CFL. Not so much as a whisper about "we are aware of the allegations and are looking into next steps"...... SOMETHING....

Right there in the 3down article:

“The league is aware of the legal claim that has been made by a former employee against the Toronto Argonauts and Mr. Kelly. The League is currently reviewing this matter but has no further comment at this time.”
