May I ask why?
I think he's a difference maker. Is it the injury history? A desire to get younger at the position? Both?
There are a lot of reasons to move on. Injuries, decreasing impact plays, age/projection,
But that's why you should have had 6 new DE's in camp LAST year. If we're losing him now it's kind of too late. We better hope Haba takes a couple big leaps forward.

Blame the ******* Riders, they just re-signed Anthony Lanier for $250k and he probably sits out more games than Jeffcoat.
And that's probably it.
We're too far apart on salary and Jackson probably took the hit for a couple years to keep the band together but know he's only got so many seasons left in him.

Jeffcoat is the exact kind of piece I’m glad we’re moving on from
And I can understand why you feel that way, but he's a difference maker that we don't have a replacement for right now.
That said, if you can find a difference maker on a rookie deal - that's a big deal (likely for next season though as DE's take a minute to percolate).

I bought a Collaros jersey after Harris moved on and then won a Bighill jersey that same year.
So riding those until they retire and will then make a move. I figured Brady would be the easy choice but we will see.

Go get him, Walters.

Maybe that's why they're not signing Ouellete?
But TO signing Brady would surprise me.
-
I honestly expected him to hit Free agency a couple of years ago, when Willie and Darrin went down to Texas to convince him to stay. Was super surprised when he re-sign then, but now I'm kind of surprised to see him looking elsewhere.
We're a different defence when he's not on the field. Would be a huge hit.

With the amount of guys unsigned, it's hard to see the team vision right now.
Hopefully it all comes together. It's a long way to TC.

Not sure I agree entirely... Eli was a road grader and should be playing ahead of both kola and gray IMO.
I'm not calling you out, but given the fact that he's hardly played and OL is almost impossible to judge from a fan perspective, what are you basing your opinion on?

Kowlanoski back on a 2 year deal. Hopefully it's as 6th OL.
Man, I kind of doubt it.

Cfl has poor forward thinking and at times focuses on the wrong things
I doubt all of these professional talent evaluators are unaware of JUCO; it’s probably simply the viewpoint that to get to that point they’ve, for a multitude of reasons, have burned through all of their chances. It makes them long shots so resources are mostly spent elsewhere.
Even if you look at our off season recruitment from this off season. Several look to have come from juco, but they fixed what they needed to and transferred to other colleges.
It sounds like you get to know some of these guys personally and know their stories so you have a more intimate view of them. But that doesn’t enter the black and white of a scouting report, I guess.

Would def make sense to be a joint US/Can kid thing who have aged out of school, and former draft picks who got cut in camp, but given a avenue to develop, and still have eyes on them could actually in a yr or 2 make an active roster
Well, this all sounds like a massive undertaking and I'm not surprised it hasn't happened, tbh.

Zach has been like Brady’s balls around here. Deflated lol.
I feel like we are gonna see some serious shake ups here and league wide in free agency.I didn't believe it, but I think I'm starting too. Still a lot of unsigned names.
Walters either thinks there's a chance he can still sign the big two, or is going to be bringing a lot of new faces to camp (or both).

oh boy.
Walker replaced with Fox and a bunch of new recruits brought into training camp.

Why would we be surprised if Walker comes back? He’s been good
That's why I'd be surprised. We have a history of letting our DTs walk and replacing from within.

The Elks have Kevin Brown on an ELC, he was #2 behind Brady in rushing yards. If any teams are interested in Brady, I suspect it would be BC, Sask. or Ottawa, but for the numbers he's looking for it makes little economic sense for any of those teams.
So Kevin Brown has already been in the league 2 years but he's not listed as a FA. He must have signed a new deal at some point.

I understand the appeal of playing in Toronto it's a great city not my cup of tea, but for me I wanna play in a mostly full building and not in front of barely 10k patrons.
It's fun to play in front of a whole crowd, but I'm sure it's pretty low on the priority list when you're negotiating a contract.
My main concern would be housing. If I'm moving from Edmonton/Regina/Winnipeg to got to Toronto or Vancouver - they better be paying a housing bonus or have some off the books living accomadations.

Huh, interesting take- how do you figure?
So, full disclosure, I didn't read the list so I don't know which services you're even talking about.
But taking a local example - why does MPI spend money on billboards and commercials when we have no choice but to go through them?
(And if I'm talking out of my butt here and this is completely different let me know).

Odd though, I don't think the several government services listed would partake in the pay to place.
I definitely believe they would.

I am not sure how it is an overpay either. No one can know if he is overpaid until he actually demonstrates that.
Even if he's the worst starter in the league....that's how he's being paid.
He accepted the absolute minimum offer as far as I'm concerned.
