I know what you mean. I told my wife that if I died during the last game. I hope they win otherwise it would have been for naught.

Same with me. I live on the south west side of Calgary and easily a foot of snow.

I am fully completely on the Collaros train. I understand the injury concern but any player can go down with injury.
I would really like to see what Mcguire can do as a #2.
-
I'm not looking for anything like the Dyson Cam (the old timers will remember) but I hope the refs keep Lawrence under control and call the cheap stuff he pulls numerous times during the game. He's got away with so much crap this season that I'm sure he just thinks it's normal.

I guess you didn't bother looking at any numbers, either.
Career reception %
Adams: 61.3%
Banks: 68.5%
Burnham: 66.7%
Ellingson: 67.0%
Posey: 61.5%
Rogers: 64.3%
Roosevelt: 66.2%
Sinopoli: 73.6%
Walker: 65.5%For reference, SJ Green has a 56.4% reception percentage to this point in time. Bowman sits at 61.0% on his career.
While stats can make your point or opinion look correct. I base my opinion on watching every CFL game (minus 10 that I missed while on vacation) and I see many receivers on the list above that are better play makers than Adams. Don't get me wrong I like Adams but he's not shown he's a #1 receiver yet.
Ellingson is a perfect example of a receiver that makes the contested catch more often than not. Is he more skilled than Adams? I don't think so but Ellingson for lack of a better term, tries harder to make the catch. He also times his high point to perfection.
So yes I stand by my opinion

Hope Lapo and Hall are gone both next year. Too inconsistent and predictable. Need some new blood in cfl OC and DCs
Hall? I agree the defence has had their ups and downs but the defence is just fine. No reason to get rid of Hall.

What BS. I bet you didn't even bother to look up any actual numbers before spouting that nonsense.
2016 vs. BC: 3/7, 43 yards (Of those two incompletions, two were knocked down and the other two resulted in penalties against the opponent, thus extending the drive.)
2017: didn't play (he was injured in week 17)
2018 vs. SK: 3/5, 29 yards; vs. CGY: 5/9, 64 yards (Adams deserves blame for his drops but you seem to ignore a QB who struggled to move the ball in that game and went 15/32 passing, as well as an OC who didn't put together much of a gameplan.)So, what "several drives" have been killed in the playoffs by Adams' drops?
Ridiculous comparison. Adams has established himself in the CFL, so there's no potential for him to show; it's already been realized. Lawler is still in the midst of realizing his, so you're comparison apples and oranges.
What a weird time for an unwarranted dump fest considering how well Adams has played since the team addressed the QB position last month.
Brian Burnham and Eric Rodgers. Just two examples of top tier #1 receivers. They consistently make the difficult catches that extend drives. That's what you want in a #1 receiver.
I wasn't comparing Adams and Lawler. I just said that one showed more potential than the other.

that does not matter one iota....you think it has to be based on one-on-one battles? No....there's always yapping from the sidelines and probably things happen out there that we don't see, but the players talk about....reputations for doing "sketchy" stuff on the field. I have no doubt there is no love lost from 2007...
I don't think it has anything to do with their playing days. Most players (except Angelo Mosca) let the on field stuff go. I believe the animosity is based on DB's outspoken comments about the team.

Your vendetta against Streveler is a bit much. Give him a real offensive coordinator who can properly use people of different talents and watch him explode.
I'm not sure why Streveler would leave, assuming the Bombers want him back. There isn't a CFL team that are offering him a starters job.
-
How about this. Let TEP die and have the Bombers adopt MBB and financially support it so we can have the best of the best.

But is Streveler deciding between holding the ball and handing it off?
Demski sure looked like he had some open real estate on a couple of them.

Streveler is going to get some NFL tryouts this winter on athletism alone. Cyrious where it will tkae him, because the NFl will be looking at him as reciever only and he'd have t give up the QB dream.
QB movement this off-season may eclipse the wild QB moves of last offseason 😳😳
Where are you getting this from? Is it your own opinion or have you heard something from a credible source? I personally don't see him getting any interest from the NFL.

Collaros's wife is a teacher in Toronto apparently. CJOB mentioned it yesterday and spoke of the situation as a hockey rental.
Possibly so but I get the feeling he really likes it here and seems to like playing for Osh.

The recent prevalence of open microphones has made it apparent the CFL needs to expand their rules on player conduct, I can't believe the amount of verbal abuse the officials take on the field, players constantly yapping at them about calls made or missed calls on almost every play, demonstrating a total lack of respect. You wouldn't see or hear it in hockey. The league has to establish that the officials control the field and are not to be objects of verbal or physical abuse, only designated captains should be allowed to address on field officials in a calm rational manner with a 15 yd. UR penalty handed out as a deterrent for violations. The players would quickly absorb the message.
Couldn't agree more. A couple of years ago I wrote an email to the league that the officials should have a designated area on the field where they could talk without the players yelling in their ears. It would be a box or circle where the players couldn't enter and if they did they would be assessed a unsportsmanlike penalty.

I have no idea why this aspect has completely disappeared from LaPo's game plan. This and play action. We have the most dangerous running back in the league and we relegate him to blocking status. A couple of bomber drives would have been sustained had we employed some version of this. Even though LaPo forced Streveler into the game, Streveler could be making those screen passes. That would have kept Sask off guard. All that said, we got the W and we're Grey Cup bound.
Yet I cringe every time Streveler attempts a pass.

If your backup can come in and not skip a beat, he's a starter. There's a reason that it doesn't happen very often. When it does, it forces a change the QB situation. Watch what happens in Hamilton and Calgary. Welcome to life in a salary cap age.
True but your back up must be capable to run the entire playbook with a certain level of success. Unfortunately Streveler can't. Maybe McGuire?

Here's a gem. From the 50th Grey Cup at Toronto's CNE Stadium on December 1, 1962. Better known as The Fog Bowl. Number 29 is Leo Lewis. The Bombers won 28-27 & the last 9:29 seconds were played Sunday December 2nd after the game was suspended because of thick fog. The Bombers had the one point lead when the game was halted & there was no further scoring. The 1962 season also marked the beginning of the iconic white W on our helmets.
I was born a few weeks before and my Dad went to the game. They took the train there and back and were gone for over a week. I'm not so sure many wives today would agree to it.

If things go well I don't mind resigning Collaros but we need to make sure we have a suitable backup in place. Can't ignore the years of injuries.
When was the last time we had a suitable back up? One that could come in for the #1 and not skip a beat?
-
Imagine your team intercepts the ball and return it to the opponents 36 yard line. Here's your opportunity to put the game away and your OC pulls your #1 QB and puts in the second stringer. Two plays later you're now at the 38 yard line and settle for a field goal and give the opponents another chance.
What OC would in his right mind do that?
