If the option is between losing Streveler or making him our #1 QB to start the year next year I'd do the latter.

The guy is a leader and will run through a brick wall for this team. Like others have said, don't write him off as a passer yet. And at worst we could trade for Collaros at the end of the season again lol

I certainly hope that the people within the WBB organization have a better idea.  That would be a huge risk to pin the season on Streveler as your #1.

  2. You guys have fallen in love with the cigar smoking, beer drinking, fur coat wearing and shirtless Chris Streveler.  He's become a fan favourite due to his persona not his abilities as a QB.  It reminds me somewhat to Mike Commadore who was with the flames during the 2004 Stanley Cup run. His big red hair sticking out from his helmet, wearing his robe in public and drinking beer in public with the fans.  All Flames fans wanted him back because they fell in love with the guy and completely ignoring the fact he was just a mediocre defenceman who would be the #7 or #8 on most teams roster.  The only reason he was playing is because of the number of injuries to the starters.  Commodore signed a big contract but never lived up to the hype.

He needs an OC who is willing to adapt to Streveler's strength instead of shoe horning him into being a pocket passer.

LaPo has never really shown willingness to do that.

The only coach Streveler needs is a running back coach.  I'm sorry but some of you guys are overlooking his limitations.  He is what he is and I don't believe that any amount of coaching is going to change that.  With only two QB's on the roster next year I'm not sure he's the best choice for the #2.

  4. Apparently Ryan Dinwiddie is having his 2nd interview for the Ottawa HC position and BC is interested in speaking with Maas for the open OC job.   It looks like the only open HC position is Edmonton and I just can't see Lapo being a strong candidate.

Will the board survive if Lapo returns for the 2021 season?

Anyone find it crazy that Calgary only has 8 cups in their history? It feels like they've been dominant for nearly 2 decades

Ah that brings back memories of Ftroop.

Do you even read what I say about Lapo? And **** sakes at least twice tonight I've shown you how Collaros and Nichols put up similar numbers... but yeah, it was ALLLL the awesomeness of Collaros and not this team doing what this team does best. Simple fact is that the problems this team had with Streveler as the starter we twofold. One Lapo used him too much as a running gimmick and two that he turned the ball over more. Collaros being a veteran brought it back more in line with what was happening when Nichols was there because they're both veterans.

All you have done is **** all over Nichols and shown nothing that makes Collaros better... unless it's that one throw against Calgary to end the regular season, which was a hell of a play, but still just one play.

Ive supported Nichols all season and still do but even the most reverent Nichols supporter has to admit that collaros was much better at executing the offence. And to me the most glaring improvement over Nichols is how Collaros was significantly better at converting on 2nd down and extending drives.   Plus eluding the rush.

This is a classic example of where you really need all the facts before you start spouting off your own takes on what is “best for” a player you don’t even know.

Collaros’ wife has a unionized job in Ontario that she wouldn’t be able to acquire easily if she were to move to Manitoba and she also happens to be pregnant.

If those two things aren’t enough reason for him to want to move back to Ontario, his family is close to the area as well. He’ll be going back to Ontario.

If I were Collaros I’d prefer to play on the same team as willie Jefferson vs against  him.   😀

Does anyone think they will get Mr. O'Shea signed and announce it before the end of the week ?...... maybe end of next week ?  I just want to see him signed, then I can relax and enjoy the off season as they work on assembling the next winning team.

Why would we be signing Osh’s father.   I honestly don’t get the use of “Mr.” when addressing anyone on this board.  I’ve seen it before and just don’t get it.

    Am I missing something?

If Lapo leaves and Nichols stays..... who is the best OC at working with immobile QB's ?

I’ve been on the buck pierce train for quite awhile.  But there are many good cfl offensive coaches in the league that need to be looked at as well. As I said today I like Maas as an OC but I would be careful and would pass it by the teams leadership on offence before I even interviewed him. If the players would revolt then the decision is an easy “no”.

Buck is my first interview and then go from there.
