I've yet to see mention of Burke belittling his players in public, and then making ridiculous statements like Desmond Washington will never return another punt for us again. We may not have been a talented team, but we weren't even competitive the majority of the time. Burke was absolutely one of the worst head coaches in CFL history.

The guys who quit were called out last year too.

LaPo made some coaching errors especially in key situations late in the game but had he been given a chance he'd have corrected that with experience. He was 10 times the head coach Burke was.

Looking at that roster, I see a lot of potential. Few holes. Few question marks. Really don't like Dunn or Kuale. Other than that, I'm optimistic.

Shott was kind of disappointing for me this pre-season, he's gotten a lot of hype the last few years as a guy BC was grooming to take over for McCallum.  I'm guessing that plan has been scrapped to some degree.
 
Looks like Anthony Daley made the Lions.  He's a Winnipeg kid who played a couple years of junior in BC, 21 years old interior offensive lineman, was going to play for U of M this season if he didn't make the Lions.  I hate that the Lions can claim any BCJFL player as their own, wish that the territorial rights went to the province where the player played midget/high school.

1) First, quality control coach is about one step above water boy in the grand scheme of things.  Its just another set of eyes on the game film, and some of their job is to collect and sort it (from what I've heard, maybe this won't hold true for the Bombers).
2) You would like the staff to "encompass a lot more experience" but both our coordinators have been in the CFL for over a decade (with brief stints out).
3) This hire isn't meant to 'inspire a lot of confidence.'  Its a quality control coach.
4) Re: cheap. The Bombers now have added a ton more coaches than last year (hell, almost double) which would indicate that they are spending quite a bit more in the coaching department in previous seasons.  But yes, I am assuming a quality control coach came cheap, because its a low, entry-level coaching position...

Agreed, aside from Paris Cotton is there any other real good import we brought in? The fact we couldn't find anyone better than a guy like Kuale bothers me.

Have to say I was rooting for Hall, I liked how he gutted out some tough times in 2013 and was hoping that at least some good would come out of that blighted season.
 
But that said, from what I saw in the pre-season, we have better options at QB.

Not necessarily... maybe the team feels Marve will develop better/faster as the 3rd stringer, actually being on the sidelines and involved in the game... maybe they like Marve as a short yardage QB.... I'm not saying it's for sure Hall is cut but the argument works both ways...

Hickman is way better than Peach IMHO.

I prefer the 7:30 start. It makes it easier for me to get to the game after work.  I found 7:00 to be rushed.    I also don't mind the Thursday night games.  Mind you, I have one, maybe two beers at the most during a game.  I actually go to watch the football, not to get hammered.
 
My point is that for everyone that doesn't like Thursday, there is another person who doesn't want it on the weekend because they go to the lake.  For every person who wants an earlier start, there's one that wants a later start.
 
The diehards, like me, will be happy to go to games to support the team.  The casual fans will go if the bandwaggon is making alot of noise and the team is winning. 
 
Thursday (or other weekday) games don't hurt the Jets, or the ballet, or the theatre centre.  People who want to go will go, those who want an excuse not to go will find one.
 
I agree with the earlier posters, winning will solve these problems.

Why? Kohlert is a good receiver. 

Messam is a headcase and frankly worth more trouble than he's worth.
