DR. CFL reacted to iso_55 in Burke's Lost His Mind
I have a problem with interim people making long term decisions for this team. I strongly believe they shouldn't be making personnel decisions that others may not agree with if Miller & Walters aren't in these positions themselves. Just a strange way to do business. The Bomber business model is broken. Make these guys the President & GM permanently or tell them hands off until the people they hire step in. Be caretakers only if they are interim.

DR. CFL got a reaction from Atomic in Bombers add 2 more imports to PR
Walters is under contract for another year. Of course Miller is saying he will be here. He isn't getting the GM job and if he doesn't like that he can leave and not go on the Bomber EI payout plan. As for the article, someone needs to step up and say what the plan is. This notion of interm people making permanent decisions is both ridiculous and poor business. Let an interm CEO at Blackberry sell off their assets.

The difference between Poblah and Etienne in my mind is that Etienne has shown he can catch the ball whereas poblah has struggled with that aspect.

Bombers = Mini Blackberry. Thinking your clients will always buy in because of habit can be very costly. If nothing happens at the BOD level the organization is in for a rough future. That bunch has cost the support of the best fans in Canada by its old boys' club attitude and now it will find out the cost.

DR. CFL reacted to The Unknown Poster in Selinger promising to put fan-elected board in place
I think the structure is fairly decent. Where the board went wrong was in wanting to reduce the power of the CEO (Lyle). From that point on it was all down hill. Let's hope Miller can make better decisions.

It all boils down to the Board finding the right person to run the team. If they do that & we start winning, we'll pack IGF for years to come. If the Bombers do what they've done for the most part since Cal Murphy left after the 1995 season & hire people who never should have been hired then this team will continue to struggle on the field & at the gate... If it's business as usual meaning the hiring of friends over the person who is right for the job... or... hiring inexperienced people because they come cheap, we'll continue to lose... For example, if they hire Walters over say, a guy like Higgins it will be inexcusable. And we will know nothing's changed. My question is who hires the President? Who is going to tell Miller he's not the right fit if he isn't? Who has the guts to??

DR. CFL got a reaction from Logan007 in Who Gets Fired?
Why do people still believe that a playoff bound team has any interest in trading a QB that they may need before the end of the season? I don't understand why people continue to think that is going to happen?
-
DR. CFL reacted to TrueBlue in Who Gets Fired?
No playoff team will be messing with any of their QBs this late in the season. Calgary has gotten where they are with the depth they have had at QB. There's no way they trade Tate before the end of the season. Even with his limited role right now. It just wouldn't make sense.

If Burke ISN'T making these decisions then he should be fired for not doing his job. The only guy who could potentially be dictating to Burke is Miller, and if that is happening we are well and truly ******.

One other issue teams deal with in terms of their starting NIMPS is having a viable backup at the starters spot. If Muamba goes down the next guy in at that spot is Labbe. We all know the sentiment of him as a starting MAC. That has to be part of any plan when placing your starting NIPs. Do you have ta major fall off when you have to sub for him? Hence the challenge at DL, MAC, corner.

It IS written in stone on most CFL teams. And has been now for 20 years. Why do you think that is? So more Americans can play skill positions like safety, corner, MLB & receiver. Back in the day, we had Canadians playing corner, OLB, wide receiver. That doesn't happen anymore. It's all about the ratio. If you put 3 Americans on the OL that was dedicated to 4 or 5 Canadia starters then at least one American has to come off somewhere else which can hurt a team. Now, if you start the season with 3 Ameriucans on the OL & you have 2 extra Canadians playing elsewhere then that is fine. But if the ratio isn't configured that way & clearly we aren't then that creates the problem. Most teams go with at least 4 Canadian starters & 1 American on the OL. But 3????

They haven't in the past. The PA doesn't have a whole ton of leverage because there is no shortage of football players and they are hardly a unified group. They will play under the terms of the current deal until they get a new one.

A player wants to explore his options and everyone now wants to make it personal? U would rather get the LaBatte BS about really wanting to be here and then leave? Don't fault a guy for being honest whether you like it or not. If you don't want to hear the answer don't ask him the question.

That's the type of thoughtless comment that will make him want to leave.

It makes absolutely no sense to break the bank on this guy, which you're going to have to do come free agency, at the position that he plays. He can be replaced by an import at a substantial cost savings that should be used toward either the an oline position or franchise QB, it's just that simple. Even if was a franchise type player, it still doesn't make any sense.....that money needs to go elsewhere, end of story.

At least it was good to see what someone playing safety well can do. Cauchy is a total loss and is unlikely to get better.

DR. CFL reacted to The Unknown Poster in Burke
No. But much like disagree with a lawless article doesn't mean he's a fat bald ugly stuttering hack with no writing ability, calling Burke a **** idiot coward is emotional. Does anyone truly believe Burke the man is a coward? Or that he knows nothing about football.
I guess I much prefer the intelligent football discussion that this board was created to promote not the name calling.
Having said that, if he bombers had won in overtime I do believe people would still be upset with the knee. But Burke isn't paid to "go for it". He's paid to win and he felt the knee have them the best chance. I don't agree

DR. CFL reacted to iso_55 in Braley to sell both teams in 3 years
Braley bailed out Hamilton, BC & then Toronto. There may not have been a CFL if not for him. You can trash the man all you like but where are the owners with money??? Nowhere. Just like out in Atlantic Canada. Nowhere to be found out there, either.

DR. CFL got a reaction from Atomic in Sheets is he the real deal?
I agree but they get on something and go on and on and on. I know they need to fill air time but mix it up a it guys.

I know what you're saying but I'd still take Tsoumpas over anyone on our offensive line.

I prefer Jon Cornish later in the year he will be more effective

DR. CFL reacted to SmokinBlue in Ed Hervey
No it's not even close to as bad as ours, they've just been very unlucky this year, heck there has been at least two games they deserved to win but got screwed by the league.
