And why is Cameron necessarily a good member of the board? Because he booted footballs for us? I have no idea whether he's a valuable member of the board or not but his resume as a carpenter and a punter doesn't mean he's a lock to keep around.

PS .. what really blows me away is that he was the unanimous choice for all 3 awards.

Not my mandate, but you have to look at how the club has operated since Bauer's day and make your own assumptions. 

Pretty much agree.  Gary has had a lot of very inside stuff on the Joe Mack era.  Examples, who Kyle Walters really wanted to draft, the Kevin Glenn stuff etc.  .  Reasonable to assume that comes from Walters.  So Gary is returning a favour.  
 
I don't necessarily think Kyle is wrong for the job but no way he's the most qualified.  Remember, he only got the AGM job because Joe wanted to protect his own hide by having a someone in that chair who was completely unqualified to take over from him.  

Agreed 100%, but a quality football man like Higgins (or especially Buono, Huffer) would smell right away that Miller will be meddling in football ops and balk at the deal
 
Isn't it interesting that just a few months ago Miller was saying he'd have nothing to do with personnel? How things have changed. 
 
If Walters is the new GM on paper -- which he obviously will be -- then personnel decisions will basically be "by GM Walters, pending Miller's approval."
 
For God sake, you think Wettenhall has such a system with Popp?

I think people are not questioning if Creswin is sussessful but moreover whether that success has in any way been the true result of Asper's direct involvement.

Perhaps the new HC in concert with the permanent GM should pick the coaching staff. Not Anyone else including Miller.

This worried me from the onset when we hired Miller.

Don't you all understand what's happening here? Wade Miller is going to be the GM. You don't try to hire a director of player personnel without first having a GM.... Miller is that GM.

Bottom line Kelly thought that booting an unpopular kevin glenn would score him points with the fans. Guy is that egotistical he wanted everyone to fall at his feet praising his brilliance. 

Idiocy at this point to keep Burke onboard, no faith in Wade Miller now. Running a football franchise is completely different then coasting by as a temp agency boss, lousy player, lousy football mind and just another mickey mouse, boys club hire.

Anyone with reading comprehension would say that you clearly have a lot of faith in the Bombers hiring practices, which is peculiar considering what's transpired the last 5-7 years. 
 
But I've also known Miller for 20 years so, well, let's just say I am VERY skeptical. 

Wally was the "permanent" GM in Calgary for 13 years. He's also been the permanent GM in BC since the end of 2003. Look at Jim Popp in Montreal & how long he's had that position. You say GMs aren't permanent? Permanence depends upon performance. It's already been discussed how Mack has handcuffed the Bombers & Tim Burke with the things he did. Even though Burke is a terrible head coach maybe had Mack brought in Kevin Glenn & some other players things would have been different this season. 
The other thing is just because Wade Miller says Walters will be here long term doesn't mean he will be. A new President & GM will mean a change in direction. The new GM may decide he can't work with Walters & decides  to let him go. You have to believe that the new President whoever he is would back  his GM on that one entirely. Lots of things can happen with new people  in here.
Walters is safe IF Miller is retained. The direction that Miller & Walters are taking this team may only be if they are permanent. Other people may do things differently. Then we stop dead in the water & change directions again. Twice within 6 months. Is that good? I don't know. The longer this goes on, the more I think there'll be no exhaustive search for either position so stop with the charade & make these guys permanent.

But if there's a chance the interim GM won't be there then he doesn't have any business making deals because a bad deal can handcuff another GM. It's a Catch 22. So, make them permanent. Not a good situation the longer it goes on. All they truly are, are caretakers. That's all interim should be.
