The 2 points is all that matters. Keeps us tied for first in the West and sets up the biggest game of the year (so far) next week against BC.
Great reverse return followed by not so great reverse return. Shows how quickly Toronto can adjust on the fly.
We started great with a TD drive, then had to settle for FG's.
We proved we could beat Toronto with their 2nd string QB, third string RB and 3 starters missing from the defence. Actually, they were still in the lead with their 2nd string QB et al, so we didn't even prove that. Note that Calgary beat them without their starting QB too & they suck this year.
Toronto proved that they can hang with us even with a bunch of backups in.

Why stop there? If we don't blow them out of the water we're in deep trouble, that's where you're going to go right?
If that's what I meant, then that's what I would have typed.

If we don't beat them when they are resting that much talent, we're in deep trouble.

It's disappointing that the Argo's aren't fielding the best team they can. Turns a game I've been waiting for all season into a glorified pre-season game.

We need to play the full 60 minutes to win & we didn't do that again yesterday.
I'm the biggest Collaros fan, but he hasn't looked right for about half of the season & it started before the hit that took him out. Too many picks. Gotta fix that.
We need an upgrade at returner. Waiting for Grant will cost us.
Biggie is on the back end of his career. Still a decent MLB who can cover side to side, but not the exceptional MLB he used to be.
It's looking like our dominant days are coming to an end. Toronto has caught up and BC's not too far behind.

You can't take players salaries, divide them by the number of games, and apply that to our savings. You have to subtract the bonuses first.
Lawler for example got a $125K signing bonus so his absence saved the team about $42K. - https://3downnation.com/2023/07/20/winnipeg-blue-bombers-flex-late-on-winless-edmonton-elks-12-other-thoughts/#:~:text=It should be noted that, for each regular season game.

Tburg enters the chat...
Does MOS know more than any of us? Yup. Does that mean he is perfect or above question? Nope.
Do most folks think that MOS is making roster mistakes? Yup. Does that mean they want him fired? Nope.

Argo's are absolutely paying Kelly for what they expect him to do, not what he has done. Personally, I think it's an overpay, but time will tell.

For folks fretting about our Bombers my mind set for it (and life in general) is to control what you can control. Often easier said than done, but I just look at the CFL as a form of entertainment and try not to get too down when they lose.
I also find this mentality helpful in day-to-day life...if I can't control it, why waste time worrying about it?
No one is fretting about your mindset. You're entitled to have any mindset that you want to. That entitlement ends with you though.
For example: I choose to be positive is good. I feel sorry for everyone who doesn't choose to be positive is bad.

They don't get to dress another American elsewhere though. Player is still a QB for the roster, but counts toward the 7 Canadian starters. Likely need another Canadian starter anyway unless you have a Canadian backup QB.
You get to start an other American elsewhere though.
If the Cdn QB goes down & the backup QB is American, then you can change out any US starter for a Cdn player. Note that it's not a 1 to 1 change. You could change out receiver 1 on play one and a different player on play 2 etc.. You just have to keep the new ratio straight going forward.

TBurg called and said what do you mean? There is an alternative?
It's not the least bit exhausting nor depressing to look at things positively, negatively or realistically. It's just something that positrons say when they don't have facts on their side. It's like religions. If you don't have facts, argue the other person must be wrong anyway.

I hadn't heard that. According to CFL.ca (hardly a reputable source for up to date CFL information, I know) QBs are still their own designation outside of National or American.
Teams should get a tangible benefit for rostering Canadian QBs in my opinion.
A QB is counted as a Canadian if they start. Otherwise they are counted at QB.

Edmonton is now 1 game back of Calgary and Ottawa making the back to back series coming up huge games.

Dimwiddie knows what it's like for a QB to have to make their first start in a huge game. He made sure that won't happen with his backup QB.
