I've had a subscription for a couple of years now.  The writing is top notch.  As far as sustainability, there was some recent news on its capital/financial situation:

To date, they are still losing money, but apparently they expect that to turn to profit in the current year:
I go mainly for the NHL coverage, but there is a bit of CFL coverage as well.   All the other major sports are covered extensively.

But ... but... Maurice always favours vets over the young guys. 😉

I know a lot of people won't like to hear (read?) this, but with this roster....how this team is doing (4th in the West at one point last night, 2nd in the Central).....PaMo is doing one hell of a job and milking everything he can out of a really sub-par roster. That d-corps especially.....ai yi yi.....big tip of the cap to Maurice and the entire coaching staff. Helle is doing some heavy lifting, to be sure, but they're getting contributions from all over the ice.

thx! it was a labor of love... it was a complete frame off restoration... well I call it a restoration but it's all modern technology... tilt, cruise, power windows, locks, push to start, 4 wheel disc brakes, rack and pinion steering, coil over shocks on all four corners, etc... here's a link to some more photos, and my other hobby, I design and build hand made wooden gear clocks, if you're interested...

Aim higher.  More like Matthews/Marner money.  If he scores 50 within the next 2 seasons and plays a solid 200 foot game as a power forward at 21 or 22 years old, he should be looking at Ovechkin type money in terms of % of cap when he signed his previous deal.  That was 16.8%, which would translate to about $13.5 million.   I expect he will be well north of $10m, likely North of $12m on his next deal if he lives up to his potential.  He's off to a good start.

According to Cap Friendly, he would still be RFA at the conclusion of this deal. The$9 million salary in year 3 though means a minimum qualifying offer of just under$10 million. If TB doesn't offer that then he would become aUFA.

It seems to me that there has been a lot more squabbling in this forum than usual lately and I have not enjoyed reading the postings as much as usual as a result. Has it seemed that way to others?

I may not post here much but read most everything posted. I used to respect much of what you posted and considered it carefully. 
Your attitude to America / Americans in this issue is over the top ridiculous. Get a grip / beer or whatever you need to get back to reality. Canada as a whole needs the USA without them our economy would not support a league at all. Be glad they are interested in our league and just accept the $$ they way the teams do the players.

Yeah, take those rankings for what they are worth.  THN called it a ranking of where your team is "right now".  Jets out in round 1.  Moose missed the playoffs.  At best, they should have maybe stopped there, but they then went to the prospect stable and looked at how far those players' teams are in the playoffs in their respective leagues to come up with a ranking.  So a skilled prospect on a weak team, you are dinged - like Vesalainen out early.  Granted our prospect pool is not as deep as it used to be, but there is no way our organization is 30th in terms of skill and/or potential.
The bottom three teams are Pittsburgh, Winnipeg and Columbus.  Meanwhile in the top 10 are the Ducks and the Kings.
