At one point, he didn't report to the Argos because he was making more in his business ventures. Maybe, he's a shrewd businessman and played Jones.

He wouldn't re-negotiate his contract. Same thing with Dressler.

I'm not sure which he you're referring to... but I recall the story from both Dressler and Chick was they were willing to negotiate but Jones offered something low and said take it or leave it...

Riders:    "For the good of the team, we would like you to take a pay cut"

Chick:      "For my own good, see ya around."
