Does the coaches show still run?  Can someone ask OS directly on why Cole was cut?

Must be more to this cole  release than they are saying, perhaps he asked for it? I don't know. Seems odd to cut a guy who was quite noticeable in good ways when he did play.

**double posted the above tweet**

But on a related note.

Greg Peach (lower-body) was given a day today. Re-emergence of a previous injury. Sounds like he's questionable to play this week. #Bombers

The question now is why not put him on the 6-game IR instead?

For people jumping to conclusions

Why not put him on the injured list? Are we just cheap and trying to avoid paying him?

Watch him get 15 sacks for the Stamps next year.

Or, they're going to try and keep him in the fold...like they said.

The question now is why not put him on the 6-game IR instead?

So even if he's injured I can release him for other reasons and can't release him only because he's injured?

If so, this would be a close call wouldn't it. Did they decide to cut him prior to knowing of his injury? I don't know what the official rule is and how it's determined and the sequence of things and if that has any bearing on releasing players that are injured.

Something's fishy, smelly even ...

People just like to rage about things...especially after yet another season like this. Gotta try and keep the positivity where you can, folks....

Cole move is real strange... even if we're keeping him in the fold...  wonder if bombers are running into cap trouble?

Really shouldn't have anything to do with the cap. 6 game or cut, there's no difference.

Lets take the bombers at their word he's injured maybe wants to rehab closer to home so they released him.

Man, you really must be new here

No i just don't think everything the bombers do is wrong ,or there trying to put one over on us believe or not but there has been some positives this season.

Who needs a dline when we roster 9 lbs during the game, c'mon 1-6 defense, westerman being the 1 dlineman

Cole moves seems odd, 6 game or IR would make more sense.

Peach having 0 sacks and still being a starter is brutal. Our scouting is terrible.

You're referring, of course, to the famous "Etch-a-sketch" defense.  Doesn't work all that well, it turns out.

Peach relying on his contain abilities and dedication to assignment responsibility isn't good enough for me. What that says to me is that this is the best international rush end we can find and that in itself is a sad story.

Very, very sad indeed

Maybe he's not hurt and O Shea and Hall simply think that the guy sucks.

Same goes with Peach.. Maybe they like the guy and us internet fans have no idea about football.

If you want to keep a player you put them on an IR, you don't cut them and take a chance that no one else will  pick them up. I didn't think you could cut an injured player anyway.

Does it have something to do with the cap? Marve retires mid-season. Cole is cut. (6 game doesn't help as you don't get to take the salary off of the cap until they've finished their first 6 game stint and we don't have 7 games left.)

That doesn't sound right. Is this really a thing?

I've been told several times by posters on this board that the Bombers are nowhere near the cap, so these "experts" must know what they're talking about, right?

It's been almost a year since Greg Peach had a sack.

A more important criteria than sacks would be how disciplined and effective is Peach with his Gap assignments.

Gap assignment is important, however, a DE has to have the ability to rush the QB. Saying that Peach's zero sacks is excusable because of gap assignment is like saying a receiver with zero catches is worth starting because he blocks well downfield. Stats don't tell the whole story on a player's abilities or worth, but they shouldn't be ignored either. Gap control...sheesh...if that's all we want out of a DE then no wonder our DL is in shambles.
