Bombers release Greg Childs and add DB Vernon Kearney ... tall and lanky DB with some very brief NFL experience.

Bad break for Childs, but if you have to release someone, it has to be him at this point.

will he get an injury settlement like they do in the NFL?

I'm guessing he will be offered the chance to stay here and rehab if he wants to use the teams staff and facilities for that purpose.  Since he has no chance of playing this year they'll release him to free up his roster spot.

He probably will get a settlement. His career is done, can't imagine another team rolling the dice and having him get hit by a meteor or something in camp.

This guy is like the Jessie Lumsden of WR's, his knees don't react well to the air of someone just moving past him, all the best in his new career ...

I suspect (of course, this is just a straight up guess) that if tomorrow was the season opener all of those guys would be ready to go if call upon... I'm even less concerned about the veterans...

Heal up Neufeld and then trade him for anything we can get.

The team doesn't need guys who can never stay healthy.
