June 22, 201411 yr Is he related to he rapist running back who used to play for the Giants? What has that got to do with him? If his name was Edward Byner do you think somebody on here might ask if he was the son of Ernest Byner who used to play for the Browns. Is the fact the guys Dad played in the NFL now unspeakable because of the actions of his Father post retirement?

Well we were kind enough to not ask Chad Simpson about if his dad used to play in the NFL
June 22, 201411 yr Author 5'9, 229 lbs... http://www.spokeo.com/Davin+Meggett+1/Feb+26+2012+Nfl+Nfl+Combine He is built like a truck.
June 22, 201411 yr What his father did means nothing imo... if anything, hopefully, Davin will try to escape the reputation of his father off the field... and I love his "bowling ball" build, works nicely through the tackles and tough to bring down

June 22, 201411 yr Overview Meggett split time for much of his career at Maryland where he shared the backfield with some talented backs and didn't start significantly until his senior year. A team captain after three years of playing sparingly, Meggett was an obvious leader for the Terps and carried the load for Maryland as a senior. He is short but thick, and he has some traits that make him intriguing as a late-round prospect in this year's draft. Strengths Meggett packs a lot of weight on his frame. He does many things right out of the backfield and thrives running between the tackles. He has good footwork and vision to avoid messes in tight spaces when running up the middle, and he is able to find the small holes enough to get a crease and be productive. He is somewhat reminiscent of last year's prospect, Jacquizz Rodgers of Oregon State, as they both rely on vision and small size to "hide" from the defense until they get a seam. And they have enough elusiveness and power to make a defender miss at the second level. Weaknesses Meggett is undersized and hasn't taken a large pounding in the collegiate ranks. With barely over 10 games started in his career, it remains to be seen if he can handle the pounding that comes with running between the tackles in the NFL. He is unreliable catching the ball out of the backfield, where he struggled catching the ball all year. He has a decent burst to gain an edge out of the backfield or turn upfield, but he is strictly a short-yardage, change-of-pace back at this point. June 23, 201411 yr Interesting combo - undersized (by NFL standards) yet runs between the tackles well. Elusive, powerful, and with a decent burst. And can't catch worth a crap.

Considering how little we used a running back as a receiver in the past few years, his hands of stone shouldn't be a big deal- as long as he hasn't contracted fumblitis.

That was the past few years though, crowton aint here anymore, neither is lapo. What he did the last couple years is irrelevant. All you really have to do is watch the pre-season games, i think we saw more "screen" passes in those 2 pre-season games then we did all of last year.

Plus we have a hell of a lot of evidence from past seasons of Marcel Bellefeuilles offenses to know that the guy likes to pass to his runningbacks a lot.
