Can we give Kramdi some credit. This forum keeps crapping on him and I don’t get it. He’s no all star but he’s by no means a liability.

Brown’s interview is perfect. “Well we won…we didn’t play very well”

I agree with you that Osh's player decisions have been a problem, and that Eli would be no worse than Kolo or Elsbury. But, I'm saying that "no worse" is not good enough. I'd take every starting center in the CFL, and some of the back ups, before Kolo, Elsbury or Eli. That's the issue. Can't win a Cup with a revolving door at center. And Eli's impressive college resume was in 2017. He missed all of 2018 with an injury. And has been injured a lot, including now, as a pro. I think with this much evidence, I wouldn't bet on him ever being an above average CFL center. I wouldn't even bet on him being a regular full time starter. Believe me, I loved the idea of Eli when he first showed up here. The reality is it hasn't happened. Time to upgrade at center.

Agree, we need to find the next Goossen or Couture.

It's no coincidence that the Bombers OL has fallen off when they haven't picked an OL in the first round in the last 5 drafts. It's a big difference from using first round picks on Chungh, Goossen, Desjarlais, Geoff Gray, and Dobson in the preceding years of Walters tenure.

I remember Walters talking early in his tenure as GM about how important it was to draft OL early.

I wonder how much of this is due to a trend of the high end Canadian O Lineman getting more looks in the NFL.

That sounds bad but really if you look at it, we either haven't been in a position to do that or there wasn't an OL of value to be selected. 2025 was the only year that we may have wanted a do-over.

2022: no 1st rounder - traded to Mtl.

2023: Super weak OL class where only 1 OL was taken in the first 2 rounds (Dayton Black who's not even in the league anymore) so they made the right call there.

2024: no 1st rounder - traded to Cal.

2025: We went with Shay at #6 last year when Chris Fortin was still on the board (went to Calgary at #8). Fortin is now their starting center so given how we've used (or not used) Shay, that may have been a miss.

2026: Took Gatkuoth at #4 this year & OL Jonathan Denis went next at #5. Denis had knee issues in college & got hurt again in camp & hasn't played a down. No other OL went until we took Cline at 20 so the jury is still out on that one.

Yeah I'm not saying it as a criticism, more just a fact - they haven't picked any top CFL ready OL in 5 years and now the cupboard is empty.

I’d even sit Tim White for a game and try 2 other Americans. We don’t need another guy who can’t break a tackle running out screens.

this is a horrible call-in-show level take. the dude is on a thousand yard pace and you're going to bust his balls on a play where he had Joey C leading his blocking? White didn't even get turned upfield before multiple redblacks were on him.

Besides, little WRs fighting for yards while being swarmed is how fumbles happen. Bad play call, bad player usage.

couture was a second round pick, and chungh over rated. Wallace was a second due to availability questions, manu and cline are easy first round talents.

but you’re right, we stopped investing picks in guys we thought could start and went with teams guys are the priority. that lasted entirely too long. And we never really got back to giving young high potential canadians an actual shot to take jobs. Either they got empty spots by default or ride the pine.

Our canadian depth is paper thin now, and we insist on playing more canadian snaps than any other team

For a lot of the last 2 seasons Ottawa basically didn't even play with a running back.

hell, when they ran out of actual running backs a couple of years ago they didn't recruit a replacement, they just moved Addison from receiver. In a playoff game, no less.

Yeah...not a fan of those empty sets..and how we place BO in them for most part pretty much eliminates him..ultra dumb

We ran empty backfield on some plays inside the ten yard line against the redblacks. why would you take the run off the table there when you got a high-torque guy like Brady who regularly turns three yard opportunities into nine yard runs? At least make the D respect that.

Thing is..we coulda realized we had a dud at center..wasted 3..4 yrs of largish salary there where we could have targeted a FA but we didnt..thats also where the good teams fortify and transition their lines..we wasted salaries on guys like biggie and some others too long as well where it could have been used elsewhere..thats where we failed..no succession plan in the works..and if we had a guy he never got reps

The draft is generally a crap shoot..good for depth and the odd star..but for most part its backfilling roster and a small amount of guys you evaluate and target for adequate back up spots..and possible upside diamond in rough guys..we have failed immensely there as we target guys with good special teams resume and thats it..like I said before.. anyone with any athletic ability can play teams...so target the possible potential guys for the teams

Yup..like I said...anyone can play teams..and if a high potential guy is there..he can play teams...a no potential guy offers you nothing but teams..and even then the blue chippers are prob better

Look at Smith..Shay..for example..some of best teams ghys we have..and both should have been getting defensive reps.last yr if not actually considered for starting spot..Like legit considered.. not the b.s we pull in camp

They should have plays during game with both him.and mci in backfield together..and use motion and plays off each to keep defences honest..then in 1st and goal from inside the 10 when we go 2 back set..its a pick your poison for the defence

I just think our receiving corps at a whole is not going to cut it against the better teams. We’ve scraped by last 2 games against probably the two worst teams in the league.

Tim White isn’t the problem but he’s not an untouchable superstar either.

I’m certainly not saying get rid of him all together but for his solid but unspectacular 63 ypg, I’d be willing to see if any of the guys on the PR can be the game breaker the offence desperately needs.

Obviously I’d prefer to see the ratio changed to not have to start 2 sub-par WRs but I doubt that is going to happen this season.

Agree. There have to be about a zillion American centers out there looking for work. They all cannot be duds.

yeah...minimal reps for now to keep him playing...hopefully he heals up and they make the switch..This pereption he been here 6 yrs and couldnt "win" the job id a load of crap. Osh and his coaches felt he was the best option as the 6th and the role h plays...and he is best in league at it, not that he didnt earn the job...they didnt wanna give it to him and Osh just liked Kolo and well you know the rest...if he has a favorite for whatever reason...he plays that guy even if not best option

Also we had of late no real option for a viable 6th as if it was Kolo...he is only good for one spot...s shitttty center so an injury anywhere else on the line would mean 2...3 changes in position...not ideal

Eli finally gets his chance to start & he has an ankle injury he suffered in training camp that won't heal. I mean, c'mon. Move on. He's just wasting a roater spot. Bring in another OL There has to be OLon the PR of other teams we can sign.

Yep, many of our best sts guys have been late picks.

Cadwallader, Exhume both 7th rounders.

we’d have to start any one we grab off a pr, and we aren’t going to find a canadian worth the ar sadly.

The way to start fixing the ol is a subtraction. Not an addition. every one who hasn’t made them self willfully blind knows it and sees it. big stan needs to go, and not at the end of the year

Eli's emergency start...he was just fine and if thats not at 100 percent...whats the issue...let him have another go....Elsbury you would think/hope would be getting better...but he's not...if anything he's declined...are teams seeing something in film study to exploit...plus his snaps are not consistent

I'm all for an extra import if it moves the needle and makes you substantially better, as well as doesn't sacrifice something of need elsewhere on the roster, but he is not moving the needle one bit...It's not morphing our line into a dominant group and it's definately taking things away from elsewhere...WR

With another legit threat...one who actually garners attention and can do something post catch...that alone gives the QB a bit of extra time for things to open up as well as just a viable option...which in turn would make the oline better

You think O’Shea, the guy who consistently plays more Canadians than required, is showing bias to an American rookie over a Canadian we drafted?

There’s a very good chance he could be worse than Elsbury.

MOS is constantly berated on here for being too loyal to not good enough NAT vets, yet when he replaces a dud like Eli it's a mistake? The goal posts are not very consistent in these arguments for sure.

If Eli is not in there it is almost certain it is because the coaches do not like his game. PERIOD. He's a NAT, if he were considered equal or close to Elsbury he would be playing. History has taught us that about MOS. Some guys are hanging onto a hard on/hate on for players based on what they were/promised to be 5-6 years ago. The reality is Eli is not a good starting OL.

We let a boat load of talent walk away. We invested picks and let them walk because KW didn't want to pay the market rate for some guys. Let's not pretend that the last few years of NAT talent walking out the door didn't happen. Retention is key to having a good NAT stable of horses. We let way too many walk.

I think that Kline will end up here sooner than later and that will be the end of the road for Eli.

I think Kline doesn't show until next year at the earliest.

no...Likely Vibert

Eli is if anything....Outstanding in role we use him and for all the ditractors against him...if put into use as a backup at minimum in game...wont hurt you

But I disagree with all...He'd be fine at center, and was when Neuf was a late scratch

He is not going to be here long imo, the only way he stays here longer than Vibert is if he agrees to go on the PR and I really don't think he will. I was one of his biggest fans circa 2019 too, but as time has gone on I have been able to see that my assessment of him is incorrect. He is a dud. You are more stubborn than me I guess. You want so bad for Eli to be a bad decision by MOS that it is clouding your judgement. In what 7 years he has never been able to secure a starting position and is playing behind turnstiles like Kolo and Elsbury, despite having the right passport. That is very telling.

nah...Osh has and does make many bad decisions...this isn't isolated in any way, and I stand firm in my stance that he is a horrible talent evaluator...or shall I rephrase...doesnt value the right stuff at times in a player to be an actual difference maker. And needs to learn some humility and accept/own up to when he is effing up...He never takes ownership...and when asked whines like a lil biatch and gives attitude

Vibert has shown nothing...and cant do the role Eli does...also if you watch our goaline unit...and jumbo..Eli always blasts thru the dline...and moved bodies...a lot of our "starters" actually dont

I agree on this...He may not make it to main camp

And even with the new cut rules now...I think Manu as well will be one the early guys gone...He has been basically eliminated from ever being a Tackle...and now they trying to shoehorn him into a guard and see if he can play there..and if he doesnt dominate and win a spot outright as a starter he is gone...they already have 3 yrs into him now, and wont add anymore to "try" and develp him into a guard...and most likely the other NFL teams see the same, and doubt he lands a PR spot elsewhere

I think we’re getting a little crazy when we compare Elsbury to Kolo. He needs to get better at run blocking but his pass pro has been pretty good. I get some don’t like that he’s using up an American spot and that’s fair, but he’s definitely been an upgrade from last year.

Eli is playing te and blocking des and lbs, not trying to move a nt.

Only 2 CFL drafted OL this decade who made it into a NFL main camp ended up in the CFL so far.

Carter O'Donnell after 5 years in NFL camps, mostly with Colts.

Anim Dankwah, who Argos just cut.

The rest are in the NFL still or retired.
