Can we give Kramdi some credit. This forum keeps crapping on him and I don’t get it. He’s no all star but he’s by no means a liability.

Brown’s interview is perfect. “Well we won…we didn’t play very well”

That is a good idea but the problem is then we,d have 4 Americans starting on the OL. Broxton, Bryant, Elsbury & Allen which would screw with the ratio. . I was thinking that Broxton moves to LT & Broxton to RT. Bryant would be out. As a backup maybe.

Id put either Eli..Vibert or Wallace at center..they all been taking reps there...one I am sure would be more than adequate..Elsbury's game doesnt justify his eating an import spot...We were saddled with Kolo for 4 yrs...surely we can withstand another with one of the Nationals we have..and hey..who knows actually playing one may develop them too...everyone has to start somewhere...we rolled with an unproven rookie this yr...and really he has yet to prove anything...seasons still youngish...we can still figure it out

Easy fix tho if we went 4 imports....just start Lawson/Whoever as back up...Smith, and a Canadian safety....we usually run more canadian at any fiven snap anyway that we need to...so declare your ratio accordingly

Dejon Allen was cut by BC. Think the Trinity will bring him on? They could move Jerrel Broxton to LT & put Allen at RT which would be an instant improvement. But probably not.

Do you think he could cut the mustard?

Yeah. OL just don't lose it at 33. OL depend on one another to get it done with traps , cut blocks, zone blocking & tandem blocking. That Lions unit may be the worst in the CFL. Allen is the new guy on campus there so it's easy to make him the scapegoat.

Except he is coming off a couple of serious injuries so it is quite possible he just doesn't have the footwork anymore.

I highly doubt we get Allen. Damaged goods. Not sure if he is trying to protect his arm somewhat but there were TC reports saying that his wing was either still not 100 or he was shy to fully use it.

Strong chance he's here by Labor Day. Dalton Schoen too. Im gonna get flamed for that one but I just have a gut feeling.

Which you will deserve. I believe it was Walters who said Schoen wouldn't be playing football this year near the end of TC.

Maybe you should ask Schoen instead. He has hired a CFL agent and believes he will be ready in early fall. If his doctors feel he's ready and he can pass a physical someone is going to sign him on a prorated contract. I would think we would be interested. It's quite possible Schoen is being overly optimistic and it turns out to be next year. His plans are still to return this year though.

And I'm fairly sure Walters didn't say Schoen would not be playing. Simply that he couldn't comment on when/if Schoen would be available so he wasn't including him in the thought process until Schoen forced his hand.

I remember reading the same thing. One of the local reporters must have reached out to him around free agency.

Cline likely is the first and a for sure guy we see this yr...and agree on Schoen and whatever Walter's said was just his pure un-informed (at the time speculation)

I know he is fully training now, and late season would be 16 months removed...which is generally where we should have slotted him in last yr and we wouldnt be in this spot we are in now...but poor recruitment and our penchant for playing guys hurt...well we know how that panned out...with 2 guys

ACL injuries are not like they used to be...even multiple ones...and re-injury one isnt a cumulative thing where each time you come back as a lesser and lesser player

Generally you

can come back and be close to what you were 12 months removed, but its that second yr back where you get back to where you were..or better...and when I say better physically all around as the training and rehab and the rest the body gets...guys usually come back as a better athlete

If he is cleared in Aug/Sept...we be dumb not to bring him back...ease hi in and then in 2027 you have a WR who only 31 with some prime yrs ahead of him...No Brainer in my book

Maybe that's why we haven't gone after a game breaking WR? Either way, a tweet from February about wanting to play again isn't going to make me hold my breath on his return this year.

That's my thinking as well. If he's healthy and can pass the physical we sign him to a 2 year contract with a good signing bonus to get some of next years on this year's cap, which allows him to eat, and ease him in to where hopefully he's all caught up by playoffs.

I think there is a very strong chance. If he signs Labor Dayish that would be a FULL recovery period. He's either good to go then or he never will be.

There’s the possibility Schoen beats the odds kinda like Zach did. Different injuries but I think that covid year gave Zach time to heal up and he’s extended his career now. Cuz a few years ago we all thought he was done permanently. Before he even got here even. Dude looked finished.

Maybe Schoen just needs time to heal and properly recover. I’m Not writing him off but at the same time like Zach when he first got here, I’ll believe it when I see it.

There was a more recent quote from Osh... Maybe from the Coach's Show (??) where he said it was his understanding that Schoen wouldn't be back this season.

We went after Tim White and Tommy Neild after locking up Pokey Wilson for 3 years. None of our plans were based around Schoen returning.

Yeah we signed 2 of the 4 top free agent receivers that ended up not re-signing with their own teams.

My concern is a lot deeper with recruitment.

Definitely concern with recruitment. You need a lot of receivers in the CFL and the Americans in camp didn't impress.

Neither of those two are game breakers.

The point is we filled up our receiving core. There was no one we avoided signing because we thought Schoen was coming back. The most likely scenario is that he never plays again. He certainly won't be a game breaker if he's able to mount some sort of comeback.

No reason we shouldn't have been able to dig up the kind of receivers we needed to round out the group down south.

Tim White has been top 10 yards per catch every year of his CFL career. Even as he's been the most targeted receiver in the league in a couple of those seasons.

No one is going to be a gamebreaker in this Trestman Jr West Coast training wheels offense.

Okay, didn't know about the injury, thanks.

Probably for the best.

The odds aren't what you make them out to be. Tons of guys come back successfully from even multiple ACL tears.
