Is this the first time Sergio is wearing glasses

No wonder he missed those 2 FG last game.

I don’t know why anyone is complaining about the play calling and about TE. The kid entered his first real action of professional football and I thought he looked pretty good. Remember we were down 13-4 when he entered. No easy position for a 24 year old QB to be in but they made it simple for him. If the game was out of reach I would have liked to see more chances, and more risk, but the game was well within reach and I thought it was a gutsy effort from TE and really the entire team. We’ve been a whole different team in the second half of games, we really need to stop getting ourselves into a hole in the first half or it’s going to continue to cost us.

I agree. No one can say that Elgersma played badly. He did great for a young player starting his first game.

Thank God we never tried to sign Tre Ford.

Lawler earned a few catches the hard way too and that's really all you can do against a guy like that sometimes.

Honestly the game was ugly without both starting QBs but I thought we did well given the circumstances. Rookie QB in an away game, they kept it safe for him but he looked better than both Hamilton vets. Defense looked a little better too but hard to fully gauge once Bo was out.

I don't know what to make of that game ... just a mess all around and I'm going to try to not read too much into it.

The positives: Elgersma did what Ford could not - can't blow the game there. Elgersma was a very safe game manager and that's exactly what I want as a guy getting his first real action ... Brady made it happen for us and the run blocking was solid ... Major Williams making some big plays and he's starting to come on as quite a talent ... David Reese much better than Kydran Jenkins ever has been ... Sergio gave himself the Adarius Bowman treatment and returned to being capable

The not so positives: The pass pro was UGLY early on ... the injuries to Zach AND Bo Levi (wouldn't be surprised if that's a wrap on Bo's career sadly) ... our linebackers are STILL barely above invisible ... Kramdi at safety needs to be an experiment that ends, I don't care how much of a "field general" he is back there, his PLAY is awful

The Bombers were able to shut down the Cats running game after BLM went out. The Cats were not able to do the same to the Bombers'. It was obvious that the Bombers would lean heavily on BO, but the Cats still had no answers for it.

Dunno bout anybody else , I liked Elgersma. Love his drive and energy. I'd give him the ball ,if ZC cant go.

That kid is good...and he's only gonna get gooder!

The free blitzer on the Collaros hit was 100% Daniels.

You can even see Oliviera signalling to him exactly what was coming and his assignment in the protection.

Kramdi is not the answer at S, that is for sure. A big part of the coverage problem is that, instead of bringing in an IMP dime off the bench and putting him in front of the half over a slot, we are bringing in Kelly and running him and Kramdi both as shallow Safteys. Neither has the ability to pick up a deep man worth a damn, and both are shoddy at best in one-on-one coverage. Thats leaving a wr to run past a lber and be open for close to a first down a lot, and leaving us extremely vulnerable along the hash marks deep down field.

Idk if Allen is injured for real or being hidden on the IR. We either need him back, or another imp S in a hurry. Then we need to stop subbing Kelly in on D. Put Kramdi back at Sam, and Griffin at Wil. Or better yet, Kramdi straight to wil.

He never should've made it out of camp. I get everyone loves the guy; he's the goat. If you want, keep him on the IR or even the reserve roster as a player-coach or something. Cutting Randolph for him was a massive mistake. Teams are beginning to focus on him too, what we saw last night will only get worse unless change happens soon.

Now thats a well constructed roster

But they try hard in practice and are swell guys...so there's that lol

Well Walters could bring in guys that can actually play instead. Roster construction is the least of our problems when there is nothing to choose from.

I mean...we had Dru Brown sitting right there, as one example. Osh stating they didn't want a veteran backup who had played for the same OC last year to dress because "he wouldn't have the whole playbook" is even more hilarious when you look at what Elgersma ran.

Yeah it pains me to say it, but Bryant is a problem. I agree with someone that the hit that took Collaros out, wasn't on him, but he had plenty of other plays where he was cleanly beat. Old age is undefeated and his time has come.

The excuse that Dru wasn't ready with the playbook etc is pure BS. No one can convince me that he couldn't have run the same plays TE did and just build off those. MOS got real pissy with DT about it on the post game too. Either way that trade looks even better now with both Collaros and Bo going down.

TE imo looked better than Zach. Not that they were doing the same thing exactly, but he was more decisive and had more velocity on his ball.

Defense did ok...kept the game close enough and I think most people will agree were lucky that Bo wasn't in it until the end.

Had the same thought. Definitely stayed one year too long sadly.

TE-You can see the potential and the upside but he does not look ready.

Bryant-Liability.

MOS-The excuses for not rostering Brown are total BS and he sounds like a defensive jerk.

Roster Management-You need to at least sit one of Ayers,Wilson or Jones to get another offensive player on the roster.

With the coverages we're running the QB would basically have to throw the ball right to a DB for us to even have a chance at a pick. Zero aggression, nobody covering under almost ever unless it's like 2nd and 15+. Very passive scheme.

Yes I absolutely detest a passive scheme. Gives me the same feeling when I see a passive collapsed box pk in hockey. It goes to your previous point they are playing not to lose versus playing to win. It’s a tweak JY needs to make to strengthen this defense.

Bo missed a couple of open deep balls by inches; hit either of those, and we're talking about an ugly loss instead of an ugly win.

Why did Hammy spin the wheel of backup QBs before every offensive series? Why did they have Ford throw deep instead of run? What a Fuster Cluck.

Still... a wins a win.

To be fair, Bombers also dropped 2 easy picks, one that likely would have been for 6.

Are you suggesting that Elgersma was a problem yesterday? in hindsight we probably should have rostered Brown but it isn't some egregious oversight to leave him off one more week to be fully immersed either. If Condell didn't think he was ready then who are we to argue.

I don't think that 4 American linemen faired any better last night, Brady's runs on the last series was pretty well all him

Just now, Mike said:

I would think that Brown will be dressed next game. I think most playbooks are considerably cut down for backups league wide. The guy made his first start...of course you are going to give him a simple and short play book. We probably have a pared down playbook with Brown as well until he gets up to speed. This is normal when an inexperienced QB, or a new QB to a team, has to take the reigns. This is not a Bomber problem it just is what it is and is pretty universal when a guy takes his first snaps ever.

I find it absolutely rich that we complain that MOS never gives his backups time to get some reps, then ***** after when those reps don't match the backup QB hype we have. Elgersma did a great job in his first start and the complaining on here about it is bizarre. He has been our number 2 out of camp and we rolled with him an extra week to get our new backup more comfortable. I don't see how this is an MOS character flaw as some here are making it out to be. It is very clear Elgersma requires more time for sure, and I am happy he got some reps so that he can work on his game.

The sad thing is I don't think the playbook was chopped that much for Elgersma. We hardly run any vertical routes and basically didn't in this game the whole time ZC was still in. They didn't stray that far away from the gameplan other than ZC being out forcing Condell's hand more to run the ball.

This is just wrong. If you think you can run like that against a front that knows it is coming without blocking at the line of scrimmage you are sorely mistaken.

He's hitting the second level at full speed ffs.
