I think Perkins is the SY QB and isn't going anywhere. Elgersma is a rookie and shouldn't be put in the position of starting if Zach goes down. He'll be placed on the reserve roster (they already moved Vibert to the PR to open up a slot for him).

LOVE THIS! Dru is gonna feel like he has been released from house arrest, but this pretty much dooms Ottawa to the basement for the duration.

Even if Maier turns the corner and starts winning games for them, you still need depth at QB to prosper in the CFL. Maybe there's pressure to cut salary in Ottawa? Maybe Brown was making too much to be QB2?

Best backup in league now..actual starter quality if we being real and no way he is used in SY duty..thats just asking to get hurt..Perkins has earned that role and is silky smooth good doing it.

If we got Dru hurt running into the mass of humanity doing SY and then ZC got hurt and we forced an unready TE into the role we could ruin him before he ever got his career rolling...reserve role him...he learns under all 3 this yr and battles in TC next yr and likely becomes QB2 if he lives to the hype..right now all he is is a big bodied QB with an elite arm..thats it and he looked every bit of a not ready for prime time qb thru preseason

If he advances next yr and pushed dru to qb2..thats good as well as u again have the best backup on a decent deal and your starter on a rookie deal.. balances out nicely

Dinwiddie just cant get enough of 260 yard 1 TD 1 INT stat lines.

Like the way Dru plays and we’ve the makings of great oline play for him vs the fiasco in Ottawa. Yeah he doesn’t talk good on screen so effing what. I’m sure he’s got the respect and trust of his teammates, all that matters.

Great move, I'd imagine Zach is retiring after this season. They'll find a way to keep all 4 QB's around this season. Next year Dru is #1, TE is #2 , Perkins is short yardage and change of pace 3rd stringer.

Chris Jones made these kind of stupid decisions with no one to answer to in Edmonton. Now, Dinwiddie is doing the same. These are the kind of decisions that absolutely kill franchises. Chris Jones alienated the fanbase. I fear that is going to happen in Ottawa. I was reading social media on X. The fans in Ottawa are pissed. Some have said they're done with the RedBlacks forever. Most of them thought Brown would start next game & now he's gone. They've never been told why Dinwiddie didn't like Brown. He certainly got no chance.

MBT is certifiably insane, but he's not the worst idea, if Dinwiddie has faith in him to run his offense....

Really nice move, our OL should help keep him upright when he is the starter, possibly (or likely) next year.

Could be ZC has already decided this was going to be his last year, regardless of how things play out. If the club knows this, it would make sense to pull the trigger on the trade, even if it makes for a full QB room.
