Heard yesterday morning out of Regina a Rider player had been in a wreck and that it was likely the Rider players fault, didn't know who until afternoon. Then a lot of locals went off on a "brown guy

Looks like a salary dump by Ottawa combined with the reality that they are not going to make the playoff. Would love to see him here. Somehow, I doubt it, and would O'Shea give him an honest chance?

The answer isn't bringing in an overpaid & over the hill 33 year old receiver for just this season for a playoff run that will last one game. We hitched our wagon to Cobb & like 3 more years of Osh we're stuck with both of them.

Every team would be sub 500 without a capable starter at qb. I don't get that argument.

So you're saying don't make an attempt to get better?

I agree he's a half season solution but it would help us a little.

It would be great to play a bunch of young guys but we don't have them.

You can put lipstick on a pig but at the end of the day, it's still a pig. No guarantee Lewis would help us at this point plus we'd have to eat the huige contract he has. His production has fallen so far this season that it's unbelievable. Other teams can draft & develop great Canadian receivers. Not us.

So again, what are you saying the club should do? Give up until 2029 since MOS and KW's have deals through 2029?

Geno Freakin Lewis? Are you guys wrecked? Walks away muttering about old, expensive guys who used to be good.

Yeah well we're not going to wind up getting a guy like Mack for the rest of the season. Given the Smurfs we have now adding Lewis for this year might help. In the offseason find a real solution

Well so far my attempts to clone Milt, Joe Pop and James Murphy have failed, so yes, Geno Freakin Lewis.

I'd be interested but I don't like the salary Lewis has. He just isn't worth it. I doubt if he'd take a 50% salary cut to play here anyway on a team that realistically isn't much better than Ottawa. We won a couple of our games with smoke & mirrors. We have so many issues & holes everywhere on the roster. It's just so sad how this team was allowed to go to seed while living in the past. Bringing in an old veteran like Lewis for 10 games? How much would he actually help us? He could be invisible here, as well.

I think we're stuck with who we have & where they play. If they're going to upgrade it needs to be on the OL, at linenacker & secondary. That's where the money needs to be spent.

Well given his release his current salary is 0.... So looking around the league where the **** else is he going to play? If he wants to play this year he won't be in a position to demand huge coin.

Lewis is cooked and also a little too used to being a loser.

Lewis has looked pretty cooked this year in Ottawa but maybe a change of scenery will help

remember, we are comparing him to two canadians who can’t out run olinemen.

At worst, lewis would instantly be our best 50/50 guy.

I wouldn’t expect lewis to be a wr1 or worth 200k a year. but our replacement level wr right now the wr3 on a mid tier beer league team

I’d takes Lewis fully cooked over a never ripe Cobb

I’m not really a fan of bringing Lewis in. He looks washed up to me but it starts to bring up the discussion about how roster and receiving core. We essentially went all in with the NI set and the reality is it just isn’t going to work out. White and Wilson are solid 1B guys or excellent number 2’s and yeah Demski is great, but if you add those three plus the combination of Nield, Cobb and Clerius I just don’t think you’re going to scare anyone. It’s not that any one of them are bad players but having two guys out there at all times who should realistically be your number 5/6 receiver is hurting us, not to mention it’s not like White or Wilson are those alpha, top receiver guys. If we see any injuries to Wilson or White then it starts to look really ugly. Still could have signed White, decide not to sign Neild and sign Austin Mack, and let Cobb/Clerius fight for the 5th spot you’re only looking at a difference of about 30 k

I would take Geno in a heart beat if he is willing to come at a reasonable rate. He instantly becomes an upgrade for us. Cooked is a matter of perspective. He's got JM as his QB.

I mean seriously look at our receiving corps. We need 3 IMPs out there and right now we only have 2 worth starting

Some of these guys have a number in their head that they want to be paid & if they don't get it then they retire. He could just say that's it for football if teams won;t pay him. Or he could sign for a lot less. Gino Lewis call.

He is coming off back to back 1000 yard seasons. Why the fack would we not want him over corn on the cobb?

Jeeze people on here were talking about a return of Schoen a week ago... Lewis is far more realistic of an option.

Looking at the Bombers the last couple of games they have way more holes to fill than an overpriced & old receiver. How many of these old guys have we signed to catch the ball that never worked out the past decade?

Offer him a minimum contract with a lot of potential performance bonuses. If he lights it up he gets paid, if he doesn’t he hasn’t cost much. Either way I can’t see him being worse than Cobb.

And if he won’t accept a contract like that, then to heck with him.

Argos traded a 6th round pick to Hamilton for Kolankowski 🤔

How many of those holes can be replaced by a player who was just released and is now available on the open market? You take the improvements that are available.

It’s obviously not ideal to bring in a high priced guy on the downside of his career but I mean, he’s a year older than Tim White and can at least bring in a 50/50 ball.

Seems like an overpay to me!

Dang it, KW, that's a 6th we could have had. Now we're going to miss out on a ST ace.

they probably saw him in practice and went, wait why did we sign this guy?? lol

it’s ok, we draft for teams at the top of the draft now.

Lewis old contract is irrelevant..wr could pick him up with a friendly deal for both sides

He also shouldn't be judged for whats gone on in Ottawa...and the dude isnt cooked...just in a bad place

Would he upgrade us...most definitely...would he open up space for our top guys..again..definitely

And I sure he would come in with a point to prove too...to not pick him up if for anythung just to see...is proof positive we going nowhere with this coaching and management crew.. as they see no desire to get better and think things are good...and considering this is a bye week...its the perfect scenario as he could be inserted 1st game back
