I’m at camp today. First observation is DeShaan Dixon has the shortest shorts I’ve ever seen on a football player.

  • It’s starting to feel like, a week in, it’s business as usual and we haven’t learned much. Still looks like we’re getting ready to trot out 8-9 Canadians for no reason and value experience above every

Younger really doesn't want to play any Canadians or rookies on D. And our roster has been built around that for 2 seasons. But that's an offense that would do well to be top 6 in the league IMO.

D better start taking the ball away and scoring points or we'll be battling Edmonton for 4th in the West.

Adding Tim White and a full year of Ontaria Wilson makes our offense miles better than last years. Not to mention the addition by subtraction of Kolankowski.

excited for what JY has to work with this yr...I can see them being a good take away unit and providing somescores too...may need it looking at that offence

Hmm. Here’s the thing.

What if Elsbury is actually better than Eli? I would think Job 1 of Oline.. keep Zach healthy. I’d start 4 Americans if it means Zach is healthy.

2 DIs on LBs is annoying.

If he is he needs to be like really....reeeeally better to justify the ratio implications...and didn't see that by any stretch. Also he's gonna see fronts and looks he has never seen...under the pressure of live bullets..is he gonna have the ability to make the proper blocking calls? Vet's can be fooled, so an rookie...An American at that is prime for the pickens....One bad blown call and ZC could be done for the yr

Is a marginally better import giving us a better over all roster than a National...with the ripple effect across roster...heck no....Guess we shall see tho...HOpefully it's a matter ELI isnt 100 percent, as him at center gives us a better overall roster

Could just start Eli, add Vibert for Elsbury. Take Corcoran off, add Singer. Start Singer over Cobb.

Or just take Ayers off unless he's actually going to play D this year.

Could, but ELi isn't close to 100% ready. I think being the 6th is the most he's ready for given his recovery from injury and lack of PT.

Take his STs soldiers from MOs' cold dead hands.

For game 1, I don't think we have a better option at C. I think Eli is pretty well short of being 100%.

When he's at 100%, right now Id say Elsbury might be better in pass pro, but I didn't love what I saw from him in run blocking. He has elite tools, though, and he was here for part of last year, so he shouldn't be rookie green. He should be able to execute Marty's schemes.

That will be the big litmus test for week 1. How the OL plays, especially if we are able to establish the run. IF we can get the run game going to a point where we aren't holding back Brady, it won't matter who the worst WR on the field is. Zach has a few targets in Demski, Wilson, and White who he is very comfortable with. A strong running game, good OL and those targets will bring a massive improvement with a proper OC.

Yeah, it is, that's the MO here, though.

Yeah really no need to start Cobb. Kramdi, Lawson, Neufeld, Wallace, Demski, Nield, Oliveira makes 7. Singer offers much more upside/explosiveness.

They have to have 8 no? Unless god forbid they use the nationalized American rule?

I hope our remade O Line opens some holes for Brady...Big dif maker right there...Get behind Broxton and blow these cowboys up.....

Gotta love how Osh is so against using a freaking rule properly to make our team better. He's actually come out and said so. Drives me nuts.

yup...lean in depth and shallow in real game breakers....Who knows Demski's status as well and if he is actually 100 percent...or lasts

Imagine if one of Pokey/Demski/White goes down...means we running every play with Corcorran and Cobb as 2 of our receivers....If 2 go down....yikes

Why not dress that canadian receiver we felt the need to grab after other teams cuts and have him rostered for one of Stuart or Clark?

Or as mentioned dont go Import at center...dress an import receiver and replace one of Stuart or Clark with Vibert

So what’s their rationalization on being lean in depth on O? Or do they believe depth on O is where it needs to be at this juncture of the season?

I don't mind either of those guys as a piece in our receiving corps. But I anticipate again that lack of a true catch radius type vertical threat impacting us greatly. Our offense has never really functioned without 1-2 of those guys in this era, the style Collaros plays, the ball won't be coming out quick. Nield is a big guy but doesn't have a ton of range, especially as a 3-4 option where the D isn't going to lose track of him. We're going to really have to spring guys wide open for the vertical passing game to take shape when they are all 5'10.

Tim White can still stretch the field, as can Wilson. Also, i dont think Collaros has the arm anymore to launch it deep on a regular basis like he used to.

I don't think Singer would make a difference, but the depth is ridiculous.

So like if Tim White blows his achilles in the 1st quarter, those guys are playing the whole game.

Step right up Bralon Addison

that was one the reasons I wouldnt have been sad to see him go...Personal bias over the betterment of team

To not use a rue to actually make yourself better is just dumb...Start an inferior Canadian player just cause...smh

well...personally I think its stupidity and a combination of stubborn osh who was one the main advocates against the Nationalization of an American, and his belief and trust in what he thinks are big intangibles/likes in a player superseding the actual better or smarter choice.

At least this yr...well for this chart there is only 1 instance of it...and if Demski/White/Pokey and Neild stay clean...and do what they should...along with BO we can ignore that wide side WR and just send them on go routes and deep posts to drag a defender away from our playmakers

Especially when he has to hit a pin head because we have no one who can go get it. That's been the biggest issue along with protection. Why we are leaning into it, I don't know.

Pokey has a good catch radius, he's not very tall but he has long fingers

I'm really interested in seeing how the two new corners do after last years carousel.

Maybe they can trick the refs and dress up Addison for Cocoran? The old switcheroo?

It was unfortunate that in pre season that the unknown receivers had maybe two balls thrown to them total... hard to gauge how good they could be in real game situations.

I’m thinking teams that win championships also win the areas of bench strength as injuries to key positions are inevitable. If I’m hearing the words lean, thin and/or don’t have the skill set we need to describe our depth my attention turns to our scouting department and what kind of legitimate appropriate criticism should be cast their way.

TC loves the 11/21 formation. Both for max protect and passing.

Looks like we might catch a bit of a break there too. Calgary isn't listing Flo, or Hutchins on the AR. Flo as the reserve tells me hes probably a GTD and not 100%.

Both ruled out.

All joking aside.... Did Addison retire because of age or was it a career ending injury? Like, could he actually lace up if needed, or did he blow out his knees a la Schoen/Strev...?
