Dr Zaius Posted 6 hours ago Report Posted 6 hours ago (edited) The festivities around the convention center and surrounding areas were well put together. I didn't see any Bombers fans cross the line at all. Going to the GC in Regina the fans were way more hostile to Bombers fans than Bombers fans were to Riders fans this weekend. Cringey too listening to the Riders fans boo Carney and yell obscenities any chance they got. But oh well, that's politics I suppose. Other than that it was a well put on weekend, that's for sure Edited 6 hours ago by Dr Zaius rebusrankin 1
rebusrankin Posted 6 hours ago Report Posted 6 hours ago Serious question, am I the only one who felt last night felt like a Riders home game? Bigblue204 and wbbfan 2

From where we sat the section was 50% Bombers fans, 25% riders fans, 25% misc. Some of the Bombers fans cheered Riders, some Als. A bit of a mixed bag Edited 6 hours ago by Dr Zaius Noeller 1

Kinda ugly football. 10 hours ago, blueingreenland said: I'm probably the only one on this board who was cheering for the Riders (or at least admits it). I can't stand Jason Maas or Alexander, plus I've lived in SK for years...but yeah, SK deserved it, they were the best team this year, and also today. Congrats to them. Hopefully the Bombers come back stronger in 2026. Shame! lol. Mtl sure didn’t play like they wanted to win and didn’t deserve it with there effort.
Super Duper Negatron Posted 6 hours ago Report Posted 6 hours ago It was nice to see Alexander humbled a bit. As I said up thread, as much as I hate the Riders its hard to not feel good for Trevor Harris. sportmentary2012, wbbfan and Bigblue204 2 1
JohnnyAbonny Posted 6 hours ago Report Posted 6 hours ago Damn, the Riders winning it in our stadium is a low point of my Bomber fandom. Especially after the way the last 3 went, and how the offseason was handled coming into this year. Got a big “it’s ok, we already got your money” vibe from the club this season. sportmentary2012, rebusrankin, bigg jay and 2 others 3 1 1
Bubba Zanetti Posted 5 hours ago Report Posted 5 hours ago I would rather have dipped my balls in lava then see the Riders win a Grey Cup in our stadium. So gross. rebusrankin, Mark H., Piggy 1 and 9 others 2 3 7
Mark H. Posted 5 hours ago Report Posted 5 hours ago It all came to down to that Als fumble at the goal line. If they score there, you've got a ball game. rebusrankin, Piggy 1, 17to85 and 3 others 2 4

Anyone else’s tv blackout throughout the game tho for 5 10 second intervals. Happened lots and it’s warm and calm so not the weather. Could mean huge viewership. That golf match was awful. Can't stand Kadri and my feed also blacked out several times. It sucked to see Sask win but Harris seems like a class act and happy for Hardrick

I never once got the sense that the on-field product was the most important thing for the club this year. It felt like as long as we're still selling out, we're fine even though there were a number of things that could have been corrected in-season (Hogan being the most glaring example). I've never once debated renewing my season tickets until this season and I'm still on the fence. Most (if not all) of the people here have sat through terrible seasons before so it's not about only supporting the team when they are winning or expecting to be in GC every year but at least give me the impression you realize the team isn't good enough and are actively trying to get better. I'm glad the club is doing well financially and all the work they have put into the gameday atmosphere is paying off but that doesn't mean a whole lot to me - I come for the football, not the Rum Hut. The Riders winning here was just the cherry on a s**t sundae of a season. rebusrankin, Bubba Zanetti, JohnnyAbonny and 2 others 2 3

HardCoreBlue Posted 4 hours ago Report Posted 4 hours ago Here's hoping we return the favor to them in 2027 and I'll take winning in all in 2026 as a warm-up.

I am a big believer in momentum and the role it plays within a game... Montreal hangs onto that pick 6 early and gets the early touchdown as well I see the game going entirely differently. Instead sask answers the one td and never gives up momentum again... until late when the als do start to come back but that goal line fumble just killed it. Can not be so careless with the ball in that situation. rebusrankin, blue85gold, Noeller and 1 other 2 2

TBURGESS Posted 3 hours ago Report Posted 3 hours ago I doubt Alexander would have played if it was a regular game. Injured QB loses Grey Cup sounds sadly familiar. Still kept them in the game until the fumble. Gotta say, I was hoping for a TD and a 2 pointer to force OT. Congrats to the Riders. Had a great season and won another cup. Can not be so careless with the ball in that situation. For sure. There were a few potential turning point plays that went the Rider's way. Dropped pick 6, phantom PI on 3rd down, Als fumble on the goal line (looked like it was his own RB that clipped the ball too). Anyone of those going the other way and who knows how the game turns out. Bigblue204 1
WildPath Posted 3 hours ago Report Posted 3 hours ago I brought my four year old son to the activities around U of W and he was instantly turned in to a football fan. I found very well put together and enjoyable for the both of us. That type of stuff is just a instant CFL fan generator. My son insisted on watching the Grey Cup and now wants to play football around the house, go to games and watch more on TV. What a win for the team/league. It was my first time attending Grey Cup festivities and it really highlighted how important the game and its history are to Canadians and Canada as a nation. It was really cool seeing the community of fans representing all the different areas of Canada coming together for the love of the game. Previously, I could never have seen myself attending a Grey Cup unless to Bombers were in it, but the whole atmosphere of the week has changed my mind. I haven't had season tickets for some years, but I was considering getting them again once my son was old enough to appreciate the games. Unfortunately, I am incredibly disappointed with the direction the CFL is going with the rule changes, so it makes the decision not to get tickets next year a lot easier. rebusrankin, HardCoreBlue, Bigblue204 and 2 others 4 1

BBlink Posted 49 minutes ago Report Posted 49 minutes ago I guess I'm used to Bomber home games where the home team is insanely loud. I guess they aren't selling many tickets in Regina so that might have been a home game feel for them. Noeller and Dr Zaius 2
