Doublezero Posted 16 hours ago Report Posted 16 hours ago Bottom line is Calgary was prepared for us and Bombers were not prepared. Overall it looks like Bombers hit their high water mark last year but the lack of preparedness for the opponent is on the coaches. My main takeaway: Collaros has become a receiver killer with his noodle arm and lack of accuracy. No wonder Schoen and Demski are hurt, they have to jump 12 feet high to snag the pass, or it's behind them, or it takes far too long to arrive. Many saw this coming 2 years ago - hoping Bombers would promote Dru Brown. Hopefully Jarious Jackson can intervene and help devise better schemes to help a QB who is in decline and has no O line protection. I know it won't happen but would prefer if Strev starts next game at QB. Bigblue204, Booch, Deiter Fan and 1 other 3 1

Now we're using Demski as a possession receiver, Clercius is the reliable guy for Zach, Schoen is busted, Wheatfall looks to be a threat so he's not getting much space, Sterns is 5'7. Who is Darvin Adams? Bailey? Clercius has taken Wolitarsky's spot. We have done a terrible job of building a receiving corps to suit what our QB likes to do. Lawler broke 1000 yards once in his career to put this into perspective. Back in 21 and has never played a full season in reality. Schoen has broken over 1000 yards in both seasons he was healthy and played 18 and 16 games. Lawler has 25 TDs in 63 games. Schoen has 27 in 38 or so games. They kept the right guy. Lawler ****** off. I’m sure they offered him a fair contract. I mean the guy hasn’t broken 1000 yards in 4 seasons now. Is almost 300k the going rate for 900 yards? besides aren’t ppl going off on how Zach and his arm is washed. What’s it matter if lawler is here and Zach throwing 60 yard passes 50 yards. Isn’t the problem the QBs inability to actually throw a deep ball ?? You could have 5 Jerry rices or milt stegalls in their primes and im not sure it would matter if the qb was throwing into triple coverage half the time. Colin Unger Posted 7 hours ago Report Posted 7 hours ago Bighill plus bye week made Calgary look like a well prepared team. Winnipeg was also just really not in the right headspace. Lots of opportunity to win that game. Interceptions. Missed open receivers and when we did put the ball on the money we had sun in our eyes…. glad we have a bye week and justification to make some changes. 1 hour ago, wpgallday1960 said: Well, that was embarrassing. Sask sterns minus the drops and fumbles is a decent little receiver. Hope that continues. Thought our kick cover teams were pretty good. 8 hours ago, SpeedFlex27 said: The decision to pay Schoen who can't stay in the line up & not Lawler is going to cost us more than money Let’s not act like Schoen got paid in the same ballpark as Lawler. 3rdand1.5 Posted 7 hours ago Report Posted 7 hours ago My two cents Firstly Cal. wanted it more, they hit harder, ran faster and made the tough plays.....we whiffed, seemed sluggish and made mistakes.... Zach had a poor game, but our offence wasn't as bad as it seemed IMO, the line did decent and Brady was doing well...we just got down so quick we went to well....I'm not sure what game plan we went to, but pre-game Flo said there goal was to make us sit back and throw.....and well the executed exactly that...yet some how it feels like we almost let them Defence...ouch, Vaj could smoke a cigar and casually sip an old fashion before he needed to throw the ball....and on the odd play he couldn't he simple moved a little, did a roll and then resumed sipping his drink while looking for receiver. VAJ can be a very good QB, but I think any QB, Crum, Dolegala, Masoli, Arbuckle, hell Alex Moran from BMS could have beaten us last night...... Offence has some goat horns no doubt but defence definitely has the bigger goat horns in this one IMO
GCn20 Posted 6 hours ago Report Posted 6 hours ago Inexcusable lack of focus and preparation. Every coach and every player should be embarrassed. When veteran guys like Patty Neufeld are completely turned around and lost on a play it tells you all you need to know about how prepared this team was. The country club atmosphere that seems to have developed after a great start needs to be nipped in the bud right now. It was horrible execution by every position group all evening and that simply will lose you any game you play against any opponent. I don't know how this team continually seems to look so flat prior to bye weeks. Time for the coaches and locker room leaders to change that narrative. rebusrankin and wbbfan 2
Piggy 1 Posted 6 hours ago Report Posted 6 hours ago I couldnt watch the game due a family emergency ,but the hilites showed me all i needed. That D line is an embarrassment. Yet ,so easily fixed....... And WTF wasnt ZC pulled ? Oh yeah ,hes the "best" QB to ever play the game......
TBURGESS Posted 6 hours ago Report Posted 6 hours ago It was a good old-fashioned beat down from start to finish. The Stamps went ahead 8-0 early, and we never got within a TD after that. They attacked in the first half then kept everything in front of them in the second half to make sure that we didn't get a deep shot TD. They were better in every phase of the game last night. If we do it to them in the next game, then we can put it down to 'just a bad game'. If not, then they just showed the league how to beat us. Booch, Tracker, rebusrankin and 1 other 4

So we’ll see what kind of adjustments we’ll make in two weeks. On the TSN broadcast they were talking about the last time we got blown out by a team in the regular season and it was against B.C I believe they next time we played them we lay that 50 point beating on them. So curious to see how we respond. Bigblue204, Piggy 1, Booch and 1 other 3 1

Booch Posted 5 hours ago Report Posted 5 hours ago 12 hours ago, wbbfan said: He’s thrown more pick 6s going back to last year than I’ve ever seen from a pro qb. Truly, it must be a record. How many attempts 15 yards or deeper though? We just kept taking the easy under and playing into Calgary’s D. We didn’t threaten to stretch the field in any direction. They should cancel leave for the bye week. Maybe you can’t put pads on em and make them hit, but you can make em run all practice. Send em back to boot camp. That effort is bad but the attitude about it is the real problem. obviously the attitude and the casual oh well demeanor permeates from above?....that was pathetic and embarrassing last night save for about a handful of players Piggy 1 1

I think some the issues with Schoen are mental and it's related to injury and he a bit gun shy to get wjhalloped...and thats normal coming off a reconstruct...thats why banking on hm as Schoen pre-injury was a dumb decision....What we Paid Mitchell...One of Sterns or White and Thomas would have been more than enough to keep Lawler...and we didnt spend to cap anyway....made no big splash...and even if went over a bit...big fricken deal 12 hours ago, JuranBoldenRules said: Yeah we don't really have the receivers to beat zone in any way. Not much YAC. Demski and Schoen are busted up from old/ongoing injuries. I've liked Wheatfall on some screen/hitch looks into the field. Our QB doesn't really run quick stuff. But IMO at the moment we have one receiver out there who is a consistent battler for 50/50 balls, and that's Wheatfall. Just a mess the past couple seasons trying to fill a couple receiver slots to build an offense. reason why also that Strev should be getting reps whenever possible...he can run the quick stuff...and is a threat to run from it too....tempo a team to death at times 11 hours ago, JohnnyAbonny said: That’s why having Sterns on the roster just baffles me. We don’t use quick crossers or stuff like that. We need taller downfield threats with long arms. he is essentially pointless...and even if we did use that ore...he's not a twitchy explosive guy who can take er to the house from anywhere....if we think thats the best we can do...we need new scouts///etc 11 hours ago, 17to85 said: honestly I am finished with Collaros. He has always liked to force tight windows but he doesn't have the arm to do it anymore and he gave the stamps 14 points trying to force things. He's just old and hasn't shown the ability to change his game. He's not the future and I'm not sure he's the present outside of the occasional game like last week. All this for a high price tag. Time to cut bait on some of the old players. 2019 was a long time ago. eons in football 11 hours ago, wbbfan said: I’m not gonna fault Walters because of hindsight. I agreed with the decision then and I think knowing what we knew then it was the right move. Lawler chased dollars on a bad team for a second time, after royally screwing up here and not living up to expectations or pay here. That said, we’d be much better off having over paid Lawler and let schoen walk. Maybe schoen isn’t 100% and have all the rust off. I hope he can get back to where he was. Right now he looks like post injuries Robert Gordon. And lawler is still a top end no1 wr. Roadhouse isn’t here right now, I hope he makes it back at some point. banking on a receiver of all positions coming off ACL is the stupidest place to do that...you can see already he's seeing ghosts and doesn't have that explosiveness after catch....and now that incident coming down from a suicide throw from ZC ...which is what I alluded to could happen way back in camp...thats also in his head now and it will be worse for him mentally...if he back after break, but I pretty sure he wont be...bring him back sure...but as a complimentary peice as he finds his way again....just dumb And as for suicide passes...ZC almost got Wheatfall killed last week...and that miss in the endzone last night...was an inexcusable miss for a 600k a yr QB but good thing he missed bad cause if he would have went up and got it...likely would have been crumpled again....he's lucky Clercius is a beast as he's set him up multiple times too for utter punishment wbbfan 1
