In a weird way is the knee injury the best thing that could have happened for Streveler. He is no where near back to 100% but forced him to keep his head up find receivers.

My kid had a few cups of coffee with the Golden Bears — so I watched a lot of their games the last couple years.  MP looked like a special player at that level.  He reminded me of Andrew Harris.  He looks so much smaller among CFL players.

Disagree... LaPo + Pierce leaving is what was the best for him.  The knee injury sucks because in season 1 when LaPo allowed him to be a QB he was looking downfield and was easily able to roll out and buy himself more time to find receivers.

Yeah lapo in year 2 made him a gimmick and then Pierce had his head up his ass last year and didn't let streveler throw for some stupid reason. 

Last night is basically the qb he was in year one.

Streveler looks like a legit backup qb. I just love how the new OC let him run the offence and he played against his old OC who never let him do that and beat him throwing touchdown passes while the highest paid primadona qb in the league couldn't get it done vs us under Buck's tutelage. Clearly Streveler is not himself yet with that brace and that made it a necessity for him to run the offence. I really wonder if the plan for him this season is to focus on knowing how to run the offence and to be backup. Just speculation but I think maybe they won't want him as the short yardage qb pushing off on that leg.

The real question I have is if BO is out next week where does that leave our ratio?  Peterson made a strong case to leave the ratio as it is. I hope we find a way to get Cooley on the roster and use a combination of the tight end set to get him on the field replacing Sterns with a canadian tight end and also use the designated american rule to give him a bunch of additional snaps and use a two back system. Thoughts?
 

Considering what BO jr did against B.C....You slot him in and say stop him if you can....Opens the door to get Bailey on the roster too and help with some of the DE rotation...and he's legit on teams...win win

If BO needs a few games to ensure he is healthy...and Peterson gives us solid ground game....run with it....will only help us in the dog days of the fall when sh!t really gets real

Imagine if he develops his passing game this year and by next season he's got most of his speed back and can learn just to use it to get out of trouble and in crucial situations.

I said that from the signing...you not gonna run him ragged for at least the first 2/3rds of the year so they will have to let him play actual QB...That being said he wasm't gonna sign here anyway without that assurance....Just think when he is 100 percent confident....and back to form what he can do when the run game is back where it was before with him.....It will be back....Just takes a bit...same with Schoen...he wasnt his usual self either on a couple catch and run plays...it will come

I don't want to base anything on one game especially one where Streveler did underthow a ball to wheatfall which should have been a touchdown. But Streveler has given my some hope that he can be perhaps a stopgap starter for us when Zach retires. Or perhaps veteran insurance if Elgersma is a bust.

I know it’s just one game but both lines (O and D) appear miles better than anything we trotted out there in the last few seasons. Could that explain the disappointment of at least the last 2 Grey Cups?

Trying to figure out why the defensive line looked so much better.  Is it scheme or is it Vaughters being there and Adams being another 2nd year player kicking it up a notch.

Vaughters helped a lot...Lawson did as well...Adams was huge....he should never have been parked as much as he was last yr....

I was of the mind of 'what the hell are we doing trading for this kid Peterson' at the time....After seeing his performance last night I can see what we liked about him....great performance...I thought once Brady went down that our running game would come to a grinding halt....not so...the little guy put in quite a performance......Thought our defensive line played great ....our hogs looked really good as well.....Room for improvement for sure BUT I don't think anyone left the stadium disappointed

That american left guard we had looked great and he showed some controlled natyness as well when he rolled over Betts without taking a penalty.

I think Lofton is going to sit when he comes back, Randolph did an excellent job at RT, he has excellent mobility for a big man.

Lofton absolutely should be sitting. IMO, he's behind Vanterpool and Randolph on the depth chart now.
