I hope it's nice. I'm getting a nice treat that game. Was nominated for coach of the week. My club (Rods) get $500 donation and I'm getting a $100 GC to the Bomber store and get to go on the field for

Most returned missed ones are long range ones.. ones 40 yards and in generally go out the endzone anyway...

But even most of those long ones are missed wide, not short, are they not?

Overall knee jerk thoughts - most of the changes seem fine at first glance. Nothing about them takes away too much from the CFL-ness.

That said, I don't know what problem they solve either. For every ball clanging off the goal post there are probably 25 missed FG returns. Seems like the trade off isn't worth it. The argument about TV sightlines was comical.

To me they amount to "easier to explain to an NFL fan" type changes without improving the game much (or at all).

Some short...most wide...but guess we will see

Returned misses are great...but u see more tds now likely

As long as they didn't ruin the punt return rules...fair catch...etc...and kick offs...its fine

You probably won’t until the last 3 minutes of a game and we go from #NoLeadIsSafe to #MostLeadsAreSafe

Fair point.  There are probably a half dozen games this year that go the other way.

I don't mind these changes.  Keeping 3 downs, the motion, the width of the field, the extra player are all key.

Willing to give these a chance and see what it does to the game.

Yup...don't mess with punt and kickoffs...3 downs...motion...width...im ok with it

Single for missed fg was bush if it went out of enzone...thst be like giving half a goal for hitting the post

Well more like for missing the net completely and putting it in the 5th row.

Maybe to partially counter the increase to 35 seconds in the final two minutes: clock stops if the team in the lead doesn't gain positive yards? ie: no taking a knee.

I have no issue with the changes and think the goalpost move is long overdue

Read through the changes pretty quickly but I think I like all of these proposed changes. Just wondering what Cody Fajardo will hit now?

Someone said he wouldn't rule out 4 downs in the future when asked outright.  Is that true? If so, this might just be the first in a series of death by a thousand cuts.

Don't mind the changes. The width of the field is what makes the CFL game the most distinct from American football, so changing the length is not a significant issue. I am sure Wade is scheming up ways to make money off the 20 extra yards in the endzones.

I like the changes - or at least am willing to see how they pan out over the next few seasons.

The only thing I would have liked, in addition to the changes is if you're going to a 35 second play clock, teams should have an additional timeout. I could see it being much easier to sit on leads now.

Wide left or wide right is now out of bounds by definition.

I doubt we notice the play clock. The refs seems to take forever to blow it in these days anyways.

I bet the difference is modest for us, but very impactful for teams. Some teams, like us, really struggle to get the calls in quick enough. Other teams run tempo very well. This will yield an advantage, but how much and for who is tough to gauge. I think the teams that run tempo well will always benefit though.

It's one of the better scenarios we could have ended up with when they talked vaugely about drastic changes.

That said, I don't think the changes are going to have the impact they for see. I don't think the game will be any more exciting, we wont see more TDs, and we will see significantly more FG attempts.

They thought long and hard about the hash mark move. And really believed it would juice up scoring a lot. It did very briefly, then Defenses adjusted and it only made O vs D more stale.

I also think that this will only lead into further changes after 27.

Yes. He said he would never rule anything out.

I wonder how the league, and half the teams are scheming up ways to pay for all the surface changes for franchises that are already hemoraghing money.

Maybe a bird flies in and gets nailed.... it's happened in other sports!

Any chance these changes sweeten the pot for a real CFL video game now? The number of changes required to port Madden to Flutie are getting smaller...

Moving the goal posts is annoying because the Field goal return was one of the more exciting plays

Might have been gimmicky, but you are capturing 10 yards on each side by move the end zone in 5 and eliminating the 55 yard line, make those 10 yards the field goal return zone, only inbounds during a field goal
