Goalie Posted 5 hours ago Report Posted 5 hours ago (edited) The Temu NFL is born. But I’ve used Temu so let’s gooooooooo like I really don’t think these changes are much and certainly don’t see it drawing new fans if that’s the end goal. streaming would maybe draw new fans. Imagine crave or even Amazon or Netflix picked it up. Huge revenue potential. I’m not sure how this helps the Montreal Toronto's and sorts. Just ******* with the on field while MLSE sits there and goes buffalo argonauts Toronto bills. Yes. Edited 5 hours ago by Goalie

Had to laugh at Wade's comments. Coaches are going to have to be more aggressive eh? It's very ironic coming off an 8 pass game and running a team that routinely trots out their kicker for long range FG's. Like he does he watch the Bombers? wbbfan, Piggy 1, JohnnyAbonny and 1 other 4
Goalie Posted 5 hours ago Report Posted 5 hours ago Wade is busy during games. 7 minutes ago, Noeller said: Honestly I want Osh's take, about half way through a bottle of Crown... O’Shea probably isn’t allowed to say his take cuz he’d need a go fund me after to likely cover his fine. Rourke will be fined also. I also think maybe O’Shea is finished after this season. Like he calls it a bomber career. Maybe he coaches elsewhere but probably not right away.

Squeakers and Skippy Posted 4 hours ago Report Posted 4 hours ago I heard one of the other rule changes they were thinking of was to do away with the coin toss and either play rock paper scissors or guess a number between 1 and 10 but the vote was 50/50 so they didn't do it. wbbfan 1

rebusrankin Posted 3 hours ago Report Posted 3 hours ago Longer play clock is stupid as well. Using American rules is going to piss off diehards like us while doing nothing to attract new fans. Of course, the new Commish is a long time Bell employee, so stupidity is to be expected. JohnnyAbonny, BigBlueFanatic, WildPath and 4 others 5 2
Super Duper Negatron Posted 2 hours ago Report Posted 2 hours ago Is scoring actually even down? Is it lower or higher than the NFL? Which league has more punting? Does anyone even know? Or care?
17to85 Posted 2 hours ago Report Posted 2 hours ago So I only dislike the play clock change inside the 3 minute warning. Otherwise it's probably going to speed things up with as long as they take to whistle time in. JohnnyAbonny 1

In contrast all season in the CFL 31 times a team failed to score more than 20. WildPath and Squeakers and Skippy 1 1

Agreed, for a team to be able to kill the clock with 1:40 left in the game, it will ruin some of the most exciting finishes in the CFL. When the team that is up by less than a score has to punt the ball away with 30 seconds left, it keeps fans engaged right until the clock hits 0:00 and is one of the best parts of the CFL as far as I'm concerned. Mr. Perfect Posted 2 hours ago Report Posted 2 hours ago 7 hours ago, ShyGuy said: Why does everyone think the NFL wants the CFL to be a development League? They have one, it's call the NCAA. The players moving into the NFL from there are getting paid more there than they would here. It's not worth it to the NFL to have a league where a half dozen players per year MIGHT finally take the leap and become servicable in the NFL This. SO much this. The NCAA provides hundreds of players every spring for the NFL to pick through every year. The NFL does not give two shits about having the CFL as a feeder league. The amount of players who leave the CFL for the NFL on a yearly basis should be more than enough to indicate this. rebusrankin, K-Shack and Tracker 3

On top of that, if the CFL did switch fully to NFL rules, they would be giving even less incentive for people to watch because you'd be watching the same game with less talented players. It makes absolutely no sense to go to NFL type rules, getting rid of what makes the CFL exciting. Better marketing in the markets that struggle should be the bigger priority. Educating prospective fans on what makes our game exciting should be #1. I'm fine with removing the rouge for kicks that got out the back of the end zone, but moving the uprights to the back of the end zone and taking away the opportunity to run the ball out on a miss (which is one of the most exciting plays in football as far as I'm concerned) is a mistake in my mind. JuranBoldenRules Posted 2 hours ago Report Posted 2 hours ago I really don't see the case for increased scoring. As someone who has made the decisions to go for it on 3rd down or not, the new rules incentivize field position more than the current ones. Nobody is trying to score a Rouge unless it's the last play in a tied or 1 point game. Noeller, WildPath, rebusrankin and 1 other 4

You basically will need to hit the 35 yard like for a long field goal try. Going to make games less exciting. Super Duper Negatron, WildPath, Noeller and 2 others 3 2
Super Duper Negatron Posted 1 hour ago Report Posted 1 hour ago The more I think about this the more I suspect this will actually decrease scoring, and the league knows it. The solution? Add another down and take a player off the field. rebusrankin, Noeller, Sard and 1 other 1 3

So take all those FG's teams are trying from the 30-50, turn many of those into punts. Doesn't seem like a better game. IMO...they need QB's who can play no matter what rules they make. That's why the games are hard to watch especially for casuals. Noeller 1
