GCJenks Posted 2 hours ago Report Posted 2 hours ago Hearing the changes did not make me call the ticket office and cancel my tickets, may need to look at relocating them though. Won't be much playing field in front of us at all, might get the goal line, will have to see... Really don't like the goal posts moving to the end zone, kick returns has always been one of the most exciting plays of the week and now they have eliminated the most exciting version. Think of all the extra revenue you can generate from players by fining them for drinking beer or eating nachos from tables in the Bet365 Field Level Lounge during a TD Celebration
Brandon Posted 2 hours ago Report Posted 2 hours ago I don't understand the point of shrinking the field ? Is the idea that with 100 yard fields that more points will be scored? Are these changes really going to make any sort of impact on creating interest and increasing revenue for the league? K-Shack, Bigblue204 and wbbfan 3
Bigblue204 Posted 2 hours ago Report Posted 2 hours ago Shortening the endzone, making FGs harder and allowing teams to kill more time at the end of the game is going to = more exciting games I guess? Blueandgold and wbbfan 2
Atomic Posted 2 hours ago Author Report Posted 2 hours ago 1 minute ago, Brandon said: I don't understand the point of shrinking the field ? Points will theoretically be down with field goals being 15 yards further, so you shrink the field to mitigate that effect. 10 minutes ago, Bigblue204 said: "PREMIUM" jesus he's never watched a game from the endzone and anyone who would pay premium prices for that doesn't care about football. Booch Posted 2 hours ago Report Posted 2 hours ago I get the seating part to an extent...half dozen this....6 of that kinda thing tho...from upper level...looking downat goaline...of it shifted 5 yards is it really gonna make that much a difference....Maybe to the filed levelpeople in lower bowl That being said...the opposite goaline is now closer too....and you are closer to mid field as well now I agree tho...the removing of the 55 seems kinda pointless. Maybe they will rethink part of it if they get serious backlash....never know
FrostyWinnipeg Posted 2 hours ago Report Posted 2 hours ago Ive been calling for 15yd NFL style endzones possibly all my life so im okay with it. I'm 50/50 on removing the 55 yarder. Now every field marker has got to wiped off the field and the old marks never really go away. They'll be there until the field gets replaced probably.
Mike Posted 2 hours ago Report Posted 2 hours ago The thing is - and I haven’t heard anyone mention this yet - if they wanted to go full American, they could’ve and didn’t even with the rules they did adjust. They made the end zones 15 yards, not 10. They made the play clock 35 seconds, not 40. They kept the width of the field and the rouge, they just slightly altered other aspects of those two categories. Piggy 1 and Mr. Perfect 2

Atomic Posted 2 hours ago Author Report Posted 2 hours ago I think people are a little off with the NFL-feeder league talk but there is some real smoke around revisiting US expansion in a couple years Goalie and Bigblue204 2
Booch Posted 2 hours ago Report Posted 2 hours ago (edited) feeder league is nonesense.......feeder league would be a league where guys would be called up in season...and guys dropped into the CFL as well....U.S college feeds the league....CFL gets the scrps and the odd guys that slips thru said crack And more often than not...that guy gets a chance and within 1 ..2 yrs is right back anyway...the percentage of guys who are stars, and leave never to be back is probably less than 1% That 35 second clock thing....be insignificant I bet... Bigblue204 Posted 2 hours ago Report Posted 2 hours ago 100% The NFL wants teams up here and down south. They want to take advantage of the international market. This makes it one step closer....even if they still have 100 steps to go. 16 minutes ago, Booch said: I get the seating part to an extent...half dozen this....6 of that kinda thing tho...from upper level...looking downat goaline...of it shifted 5 yards is it really gonna make that much a difference....Maybe to the filed levelpeople in lower bowl That being said...the opposite goaline is now closer too....and you are closer to mid field as well now I agree tho...the removing of the 55 seems kinda pointless. I want my discount. GCJenks 1
wpgallday1960 Posted 2 hours ago Report Posted 2 hours ago I don’t mind the removal of a rouge for a missed FG, as I don’t think you should reward failure. Shortening the field to 100 yards would theoretically make scoring easier, but shortening the end zone would do the opposite (at least as far as TDs go). Looks like they are trying to reduce FGs and increase TDs. I will wait and see if the changes make any impact on my viewing experience. it should be noted I’m an old timer with a patriotic streak, so I may be biased. I’m not in favour of making the game more American just for,the sake of doing so. Bigblue204 and K-Shack 2
rebusrankin Posted 2 hours ago Report Posted 2 hours ago So if you take out ten yards that changes the positioning of seats slightly. Feel like all that does is tick off some season ticket holders. K-Shack, Piggy 1, Bigblue204 and 1 other 1 3

I see your point but still don’t want a rouge for a missed FG. FG misses are rarely short. And some people call me stubborn, if you can believe it. I think of a situation where a team is trailing by 1 late in the game and has a choice of FG to win or punt for a surer 1 point. Makes for an interesting choice.
TBURGESS Posted 1 hour ago Report Posted 1 hour ago Did they change where converts are kicked from? If not, then they just became 15 yards longer. I like the change to the rouge, I've been suggesting it for years. No need or advantage to changing to a 100 yard field. Nice to see all end zones the same size. One of the most exciting plays in the CFL is the return off of the missed FG. I'm sorry to see it go. The most exciting part of most CFL games is the last 3 minutes when the clock is stopped. They should keep it. We will finally find out if it's been the rules that are keeping the younger generation away from the stadiums. Hint: It's not. Noeller and Bigblue204 2
rebusrankin Posted 1 hour ago Report Posted 1 hour ago Instead of changing the rules, just hire people from Winnipeg to teach other markets how to market their team because apparently several markets are too stupid to figure out how to do any of this. JuranBoldenRules Posted 1 hour ago Report Posted 1 hour ago These changes will not improve game play. Will make it harder to score points. Game will be bogged down in midfield and you'll have teams punting from the 40 going in. If you want a better game, develop some QB's. 1 hour ago, Mike said: I don’t think it’s the changing of the rules. I’m sure it’s not lost on any one of these executives that they are gaining 25 yards of space at field level - how do they use that? Field level patios? Influencer bullshit? This is why several stadiums have moved the sidelines all to one side for field level seating. They are losing that. JohnnyAbonny, Bigblue204, K-Shack and 1 other 3 1
